That onion chopper was a slap chop. It's one of those sold on TV gadgets and was promoted as I recall by the same person as the shamwow. I wouldn't use it, but might be useful for older people.
I have often made soup/stew with leftovers, but never with five different types of meat, nor with vegetables that really would not mix well together. Casseroles are another option. Uncle Roger has not heard of Army Base Stew, a Korean dish from the Korean War, which included frankfurts, cheese, spam, beans, noodles, and other things, like Korean ingredients (Kimchi, for example)
Hi James, I would love to see what dish or dishes you as a professional cook could do with the same leftover ingredients assuming that all the ingredients including the onion are still in safe useable condition because I agree with all three of you that food waste is bad and it is common to have a bunch of leftovers to use up that won’t easily go together to make a dish
I find it ironic that the bullet chopper which later became the progenitor of the Ninja corporation of household goods… doesn’t match with your usage… chop onion takes time and skill, bullet chopper 30 seconds to rinse and people with arthritis can use it…
The mayo in the Pork n' Beans had me turning a bit green... but in the Garbage Stew, the hot dogs started making me laugh and remembering my Filipino mother-in-law. Look up the recipe for Filipino Spaghetti, prominent ingredient... Hot Dogs. The second year that she was here in the USA, she decided to try cooking a Thanksgiving Day turkey. When she brought it out of the kitchen on the serving platter and placed it on the table, I thought, "Hey! She did a damned decent job for her first attempt", that is, until I saw the back end of the bird. There in the cavity opening, arranged in a circular cluster, were a bunch of hot dogs, stuffed in the cavity opening much the same way someone would do trying to smoke 12 cigars in their mouth at once. I was truly speechless, then after she removed the hot dogs, out came quartered potatoes and 3" stubs of carrots. Her next Turkey as a lot better with my guidance... remember, as for as I know, they don't have Turkeys in the Philippines, so I had to at least give her in A for effort. Thanks for your great videos and Happy New Year, Chef!!

So let's begin. 10:00 Jamie hasn't said this before, well, maybe he has 10:20 He seems to get a lot of sponsors, or maybe he doesn't There are a few others I missed, feel free to comment those below :)
Honestly, you're so right about the "ingredients going bad." Not only can it give you food poisoning, but even if you don't get sick, it will ruin the taste of the dish. It's just not worth it. Don't take advice from Jack.
@vhfgamer Yes, definitely. But common sense, unfortunately, doesn't always line up with the inconveniences of life. I've been guilty of this. You do the grocery shopping, you go to uni, get back home, go back to work, get back home, and you're too tired to cook it but to poor to order food and it goes bad and you feel guilty for throwing it out. It's not a good place to be in, but I don't think anyone out there does it intentionally.
@vhfgamer I'd also like to point out the amount of guilt that most of us associate with wasting food in any shape or form. This is kind of a long story, but in my religion (Islam, but I'm sure this is true for many others), we are taught that food is sacred and wasting it is strictly forbidden. I honestly think drilling this point is one of the reasons people develop eating disorders. I personally have so many unpleasant memories associated with this. For example, in our kindergarten, the teachers used to tell us we had to "clean the plate so good that we could see our reflection!" I remember my father doing a whole routine every time something was about to go bad: a series of consecutive warnings that it was time to eat it. Finally, he would eat it himself (he did it to make a point to us). In our culture, we are told food is so sacred that even if you see a moldy piece of bread on the ground in the street, you have to pick it up and put it on a high place. Stuff like this is more often than not rooted in past poverty, but so often has the opposite effect than what it desires. So, while you are absolutely right about it being common sense (it seems stupid to eat something off); there's much more complicated underlying issues to consider. I.E. even tho I now know it's dangerous to "just cut off the mold and eat the rest," all my life I've been encouraged to do this to avoid food waste, which is quite dangerous advice!
Happy New Year, James! I hope the video didn't put you off your lunch too much! Looking forward to more of your videos this year, and hopefully you'll get that collab with Uncle Roger!
Of the warriors to face on the battlefield, fear only those with nothing left to lose. This man has no shame, and cannot be discouraged from his goals any longer. Fear this youtube channel above all others, for he will go on. And on. Without ever doubting his mission.
His methods are really very chaotic, but I don't see the harm in mixing those ingredients, maybe it's not the most normal combination on any cuisine xD but it could surprise in terms of flavor in the end
@Chef James: It is great that you maintain to keep a calm and controlled tone regardless of the content, I know you were trying very hard :D and it is also good that beside the criticism you also attempt to elaborate about the relevant knowledge, information, guidelines, and tips about cuisine culture and cooking techniques. These are very valuable strongpoints of your video and I really, really appreciate that.
@Chef Makinson: regarding the "garbage stews" there are several versions of them worldwide, for exaple the "demolition waste stew" in S. E. Asia, using a mixture of leftovers from a previous big banquet or after the new year holidays, with some common fresh vegetables that can be inexpensively purchased in the market. As we can see it originates from economic concerns, as it is a cost-effective way for common family to not waste food and still cobble up a decent dish, under a skilled cook the demolition waste stew can be delicious. But there are rules, such as no fish in the demolition waste stew, or no fried and salty meats together in the stew. Moreover, some people added the over-fat parts of leftover meat (which is usually left due to the exceed amount of fat) into the stew so that the fresh vegetables can dilute the fat down to edible and delicious-able level. And of course there is no arbitray and careless mixture like in Jack's videos, as we have mentioned, the stews have rules and some ingredients simply don't match each others. Do you know about any delicious stew in Europe that make from mixtures of leftovers ?
Salad is like sandwish, you can put whatever you want in it, but not all ingredients go well together. You can add kidney beans with a vinaigrette; onions and bell pepper (just to give an idea) and it's going to work fine. No one will complain. You can even rice with mayo and other vegetables and it will taste like morrocan rice. The problem with Jack's salad is that he's trying to combine too many contrasting ideas together when he should focus on a single simple idea.

@@thegreatcanadianlumberjack5307 the latter, and he slams people giving him advices/suggestions. So, yeah...
The worst people in our prisons should be forced to eat nothing but the absolute worst recipes from Jack and Kay...absolutely nothing else.
Chef James! It would be fantastic to see you recreate the buffalo burger in a way that is not... horrendous. Almost at 250k, would be a great magnet for the channel! Happy New Year Chef, looking forward to the best!
Thanks for the video James, and happy new year! I think you need to review Jack’s “Church Chili” next where you will develop ill-will towards Jack as he tries to posion people
Happy New Year!! I will!
Some people really love their spooky content even when Halloween is long gone - those people watch Jack cook regularly for their daily dose of shock and horror.
That onion chopper was a slap chop. It's one of those sold on TV gadgets and was promoted as I recall by the same person as the shamwow. I wouldn't use it, but might be useful for older people.
Ironically enough as someone with arthritis in my hands I find slap chops to be worse than my knives.
Shamwow is nothing but a rayon towel. They work great for many household cleaning tasks. REI even sold versions as camping towels.
I really wish that you would react to more of Dylan's historical cooking videos. He's the one from your short were you reacted to the bake bean pizza.
Jack used a Slap-Chop™©®, so a child abuser used a product promoted by a domestic abuser.
That tracks.
What?
@@nikkiofthevalley Jack has admitted on camera to have choked his son until his nose started bleeding.
I have often made soup/stew with leftovers, but never with five different types of meat, nor with vegetables that really would not mix well together. Casseroles are another option. He could have made at least three family dinners with those leftovers by using pasta, rice, and a white sauce/gravy. (My parents grew up during The Great Depression. I learned to get the most out of leftovers.😁)
OMG a slap chop in the wild, so so so many people use that old infomercial as a meme or just to make fun of it, I didn't know people actually bought them, or rather still used them lmao! Also Happy New Year Chef, excited to see what 2024 has in store for your channel!
Happy new year!!
I didnt eat anything and i still want to throw up. 🤢🤢🤢🤮 this is vile. Love your reaction video. You always impart knowledge along with entertainment. 😅
Uncle Roger has not heard of Army Base Stew, a Korean dish from the Korean War, which included frankfurts, cheese, spam, beans, noodles, and other things, like Korean ingredients (Kimchi, for example)
But at least the Korean army base stew is still tasty even they are using spam, sausages…etc. this one? I don’t think it is tasty at all
Yes another Cooking with Jack video! Just in time for the new year, happy new year chef James! 500k subs and Uncle Title soon 🥳
Happy new year!!
He nearly is halfway to 500K now.
@@ChefJamesMakinsonwe can't wait for your review Jack's chili recipe, my favorite of them all
We actually make a hot dog stroganoff in Finland with tomato and smetana. It is actually quite nice. 😃
I find it ironic that the bullet chopper which later became the progenitor of the Ninja corporation of household goods… doesn’t match with your usage… chop onion takes time and skill, bullet chopper 30 seconds to rinse and people with arthritis can use it…
When you see Jack talking to noone, I am inclined to think he is talking to the ghost of a guest he has killed with his cooking.
Happy New Year. Thank you for giving me a good giggle. Jack's cooking is scaring me.
Happy new year!
The one thing I can say about cooking with Jack is that you lose your appetite if you watch more than 1 video at a time.
13:30 "hot dogs in stew?!?!"
Budae Jjigae enters the chat
Oh God... I'm sick with the flu (like half of Spain right now) and I don't know if I'm ready for Jack's cooking... 😅
Happy New Year everyone!
Well, if you make it. It might knock that flu right out of you
@@danday9697 agree, by how bad it is
Love your videos James, always amusing and informative.
Glad you like them!
Jack has over 500k subs but only 1.5k views after 1 day.
That's incredible.
That's all the reaction channels
There's no proper correlation between subs & views. If you have an active channel, you'd know that.
@@FelixMukThat means that of the 500 k he has subscribed ,well over 400 k don't watch.😊😅
Jacks videos are the best way to stick to your New Year’s resolution diet because after watching them I never want to eat again.
Happy New Year!! and Thank you!! :)
Chef James you have one of the most entertaining cooking shows. Jack can't ever upset my meal plans due to the fact years ago i worked in a Coroner's office. After that experience I'm immune. Happy New Years 🎊🎉.
Happy New Year!! :)
He doesn't cook, he just heats things up and hopes for the best. And a lot of things he heats up has been pre-cooked!
And then he fails to heat them up sometimes... Like the burgers...
And the chicken...
Have not checked on other things...
@@_Ekaros He uses rotten Food sometimes. He made a Chili with a 14 month old Brisket and served it to a Church in a Competition and he wonder why he lost haha.

"I am Jacks raging bile duct!" Watching you watching this makes me have a chef Tyler Durden monologue in my head! 😂
To be frank, in Finland it is quite common to have frankfurter/sausage stew. It is just an another substitute for meat. But the soup usually has little ingredients like potato, carrot and onion. With some other root vegetables. Tastes great and cannot be compared with Jack's thingy.
We could make a drinking game just based on how many times you back peddle in this video. I actually had to restart the video just to count them all.
So let's begin.
10:00 Jamie hasn't said this before, well, maybe he has
10:20 He seems to get a lot of sponsors, or maybe he doesn't
There are a few others I missed, feel free to comment those below :)
Happy new year James 🙂 Thank you for your entertaining and informative videos ❤
Happy new year!
Honestly, you're so right about the "ingredients going bad." Not only can it give you food poisoning, but even if you don't get sick, it will ruin the taste of the dish. It's just not worth it. Don't take advice from Jack.
Common sense says to not let the food get that bad. Use it up before it gets dangerous.
Happy new year chef and people who are watching.. may we get better videos in 24

I wanted to vomit as soon as the mayo was mixed into the salad. Absolutely disgusting. Thanks for the warning Chef James.
His methods are really very chaotic, but I don't see the harm in mixing those ingredients, maybe it's not the most normal combination on any cuisine xD but it could surprise in terms of flavor in the end
where did he learn to cook amy's baking company 😆

Do you know about any delicious stew in Europe that make from mixtures of leftovers ?
yes we have a lot here!
YES on the composting. The yard waste bins bug me too lol. All those nutrients leaving property -.-
This has to be the very first time I've ever heard a chef say to not eat food that is spoiled. Amazing that we've somehow gotten to this place

I just started a new attempt for a diet today and this video was actually helpful to prevent me from eating anything
