The Olympics loss, which was another heartbreaking loss, has sent Alcaraz spiralling again! He needs to learn how to deal with difficult losses, that's one of his other rare weaknesses that he needs to overcome if he is to become one of the all-time greats. On the other hand, Monfils is showing us that he's still got his best stuff at age 37 which is truly unreal. He could've become a slam winner if he was more tactically sound in his earlier years, but he's trying to make up for it now in his late 30s. Great stuff. In his first two rounds, he has beaten last week's Montreal Masters 1000 champion, and now he's beaten RG and Wimbledon champion. That's just the first two rounds, which is brutal but he did it! It's a shame he'll likely not win a slam but he at least deserves one Masters 1000 trophy. If he stays healthy and maintains his stamina carefully, he may well have another opportunity to finally break the Masters title drought this week! Let's not forget that he had chances to defeat Sinner in the last two meetings recently too.
I think the biggest stumbling block for Alcaraz currently is that he doesn't really know where he is mentally, but habitually likes to put on a brave smily face - even though psychologically he is all over the place! 😙 Furthermore, Carlos has so many shot options >> ways of playing, that unless he either allows himself to play instinctively, or focusses fully on a clearly defined game plan....he tends to "lose the plot" quite easily, as well as get fixated on playing for the gallery....instead of simply playing each point > game > set > match on it's merits with full concentration >> intensity >> authority!! Carlos looks as though his mind has been partly elsewhere since winning Wimbledon in such unprecedentedly imperious fashion....but then talent isn't everything!!....It how one is able to harness this talent to the highest degree >> consistently which determines what one is able to achieve!!...OK, so Carlos is only 21....even so, he does still exhibit a great deal of naivety > immaturity!....If you ask me...I'd say that his coaching & advisory team need to work hardest upon his mindset, because if being most successful at Top Level Tennis is 80% mental, then Carlos still has HUGE improvements to make in this area if he wants to become anything like as accomplished or even better a Tennis player than Nole!
❗ Djokovic's monumental win in the olympic final crushed Alcaraz's confidence. In addition Alcaraz feels more pressure to perform well. This is a deadly mixture that has produced this loss.
I think it's more of a fact that he plays too much tennis. He said it last year that he didn't manage the energy levels well for the last part of the season. Let's watch for the rest of the year and see if he learned anything from last year
He made semis in 2023 US Open, China and Year end champs losing to Medvedev, Sinner and Djokovic. How is that couldn't recover for half a year? Or he was supposed to beat them all?
Maybe later. It is only 3 mins highlight video of court view and you want to waste time on a racket smash in court view instead of points? What kind of tennis fans would you be?
The worst part about the court-level view is you have NO clue what is going on on the far side of the court - neither the player nor the court or the ball where it lands. Please never use this view. It's just irritating!
Can't wait to see when they upload the official video of Alcaraz breaking his racket, I mean, they always did it with Novak, I don't see why they don't do it with Alcaraz...
Djokovic never lost against Monfils.. it’s 19-0 And prime Carlitos… 😢 Congrats Monfils, really like that guy!! Carlitos, i‘m sorry.. maybe it will be better in 2030
Nah you can actually gauge ball height, spin, ball speed, and player movement/ speed around the court, all better. People who play tennis appreciate seeing this angle, even if only every once in a while
It wasn't Alcaraz's worst game. In my opinion, the unbelievable win by Popyrin gave Monfils enough belief to edge past an opponent like Alcaraz, and I hope he can win.
❗ "I'll be back stronger.", those were the last words of Alcaraz's speech after losing the Cincinnati final against Djokovic last year. Good for him that he didn't say the year.
Not surprised by loss. I don't think he cares. He'll stay ranked #3 when it was expected he would easily pass Djokovic on the rankings. Now he avoids a possible semi against Zverev who has given him lots of trouble. The last 2 times they met on hard courts that weren't slow as at Indian Wells - Australia & ATP Finals - Alcaraz only won 2 tiebreakers out of 7 sets in his 2 losses.
He dont care??? Its an atp masters 1000 tournament, and not an atp 250.... Usually top players chase big tournaments like Cincinnati and after grand slam tournaments this are the most important and the prize money is huge.... Djoko doesn't care about rankings no more as you know... This man was 8 LONG YEARS at the nr1 spot, the only thing that matters for him was the Olympic gold medal, and a few more GS titles... Alcaraz lost to monfils because he wasn't as good as expected...

I wish Monfils could've won at least one Grand Slam in his career. Great athlete and hard worker.
Let's watch for the rest of the year and see if he learned anything from last year
@@apotra20xx He will lose 600 points and will stay behind Djokovic who simply stayed at home.
@@alexmay2825 yeah, I mean he wanted to catch Sinner for that nr 1 spot by end of the year. He can already forget about that one
Low angle view so goated. We need more
Monfils gave it to Alcaraz as he did to Nadal. He is a genious at destroying egos.
Yes, he is.
Court level vision is by far the best. You see exactly how the players hit the ball & how close they get those shots to the top of the net...
Congrats Monfils!
Awesome Awesome 👍👍
Last year Cinci final hurt him very much and he couldn't recover for half a year. Will it be same after Olympics this year?
I hope other players do better in US open cuz Alcaraz is usually superior in every GS
He made semis in 2023 US Open, China and Year end champs losing to Medvedev, Sinner and Djokovic. How is that couldn't recover for half a year? Or he was supposed to beat them all?
@@vijayendranvijay457 well they called it "Alcaraz era" and he definitely underperformed in it
Carlos will come back stronger
I enjoyed this play from Monfils, Great!👋
This court level view irritates me, plz put normal TV angle view 🙏
No, it is much better
Exactly
Congratulations so happy for you ❤😊
This is double standard like always, you never show him breaking his rocket but show always rest players
They almost never show it on highlights for any player..there are separate videos and posts for that..stop you you with your agenda
Maybe later. It is only 3 mins highlight video of court view and you want to waste time on a racket smash in court view instead of points? What kind of tennis fans would you be?
Didn't expect that outcome!
The worst part about the court-level view is you have NO clue what is going on on the far side of the court - neither the player nor the court or the ball where it lands. Please never use this view. It's just irritating!
100% agree, a horrible view.
Tennis TV you should put this court level view more to the side. In that way the eye can really see the insane speed and intensity of the ball
Monfils is GOAT😂
omg court level highlights finally. best angle.
Can't wait to see when they upload the official video of Alcaraz breaking his racket, I mean, they always did it with Novak, I don't see why they don't do it with Alcaraz...
Djokovic never lost against Monfils.. it’s 19-0
And prime Carlitos… 😢
Congrats Monfils, really like that guy!!
Carlitos, i‘m sorry.. maybe it will be better in 2030
But no one beats Gael Monfils 20 times.
Alcaraz will dominate in next couple of years. No way he’s going away
Lol @@alexmay2825
@@dewman7477 bro he peaked in 2023 with 6 titles in a year and even that wasn't big three domination numbers.
@@_MrAvocado_ again he is only on tour since 2021 so how can he not improved his game as a 21 year old? He hasn’t peaked yet of his career
Thank You Gael!
Worst camera angle ever
Nah you can actually gauge ball height, spin, ball speed, and player movement/ speed around the court, all better. People who play tennis appreciate seeing this angle, even if only every once in a while
It wasn't Alcaraz's worst game. In my opinion, the unbelievable win by Popyrin gave Monfils enough belief to edge past an opponent like Alcaraz, and I hope he can win.
❗ "I'll be back stronger.", those were the last words of Alcaraz's speech after losing the Cincinnati final against Djokovic last year. Good for him that he didn't say the year.
Why did you cut off the video the Carlito's smashing racket?
He's just gone thru all the matches at the French Open, Wimbledon, & Olympics. He'll enjoy the rest for the tournament he really cares about.
C’est si bon de voir du tennis avec cet angle de caméra
Alcaraz cannot keep up with the likes of Sinner on faster, low bouncing hard courts.
it’s not the low bounce it’s just fast courts in general. Grass is slower than some of the hards now
Isn't grass a fast and low bouncing surface?
from highlights; i think Alcaraz's first serve let him down here. Kudos to Monfils!!
Welp, not besting Federers 06 92-5 record now.
