I was 9 and my grandma was sweet enough to drive me to the store to buy this when it came out. I made her listen to it on the way home too. I can't imagine what she must have thought. But whatever. Bret fucking rules!
He had probably been on the road for 27 days straight and had 2 days off and Vince told him “you’re going to be in the studio for your 2 days off recording a song for a wrestling album we’ve got coming out pal, and then after it’s straight back to the road for another 27 days straight without a day off”.
This was playing the night of the first live show I went to in late '93. Was early in the night, and the staff were putting the ring together, and folks were getting to their seats.
I'm a 23, almost 24 year old adult and this is cracking me up to no end, but when he says "she'll end up *crying*" it sounds so creepy to me for some reason
I always assumed it was because they really wanted him to have a song but he couldn’t sing. No shame in that, not everyone can. But the thought amused me a lot as a kid listening to this album. And honestly, I still loved this song. Lol
The whole album was spoken word poetry. Most of the wrestlers just said their catch phrases over and over, but Brett Hart and Macho Man went above and beyond (though they may have slipped Macho Man some LSD and recoded the results)
My sister and I got the CD with these songs on it. We played this song and it sounded ok at first, but then when the background singers came in... we nearly pissed ourselves laughing. Like wtf these people sound so happy in a sad song lol
With the passing of Scott hall, one of my top 5 favorite wrestlers...got I swear if bret hart ever dies....ima loose my suit! My husband was telling me he was on life support the other day, I was so close to keeping my shit together....then just started crying. He asked if I was a huge fan.....I said yes, but its not why I'm crying 😢 I had to explain I was thinking about the Meer fact that bret might some day be gone. He laughed so hard at my emotional ass! He is a national treasure and should be protected at all costs!
While its not very good, its really not as bad as I thought it would be. In the Between the Ropes interview Bret said that he wanted to do a David Lee Roth style talk-singing through the lyrics, but i actually think that this is much closer to the style of the Pet Shop Boys, who were very popular at the time.
@@fergalstackstreams And, given what we know about his marriage to his first wife (namely, how he'd cheat on her while he was on the road), this could have been about his first marriage...
Who is Here after inside the ropes interview … ???
😂😂😂 me, never heard this before, for good reason 🤣🤣🤣
Yup. Worth it.
Here!!!
Me❤😂
😂😂😂 guilty 😂😂😂

I had a cringe laugh after reading this
She absolutely f*CKING loved it and thought it was badass. THATS what she thought
hahahaha. That poor woman. But yes I would listen to this album a lot as well. On repeat.
I made family listen to this on long car drives........yeah I was an evil kid
Lmfaoooopo same Here I was with my mom and I was 10 ahahahahahah
Bret sounds like he literally wanted to be anywhere else while recording this song.

I didn't know how to break up with my girlfriend so I just sent her this song and never talked to her again.
You are the GOAT of breakups.
LOLOL
I am DYING
I fucking love you man
Sigma Gigachad
Used to sit in my room and pretend I was at a concert being Brett playing this song over and over
❤❤❤
This was a strange era for The Pet Shop Boys
WWF should have played this at the end of Survivor Series 97.

Fans: All right, we'll buy the album if you just turn it off!
Haha that’s great. How was your first show? Where was it?
@@JMaxwell85 Was called "Super Card", at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Some of the fights were:
Undertaker Vs. Yokozuna
Main event was Bret Vs. Lawler.
@@TheCastellan that's awesome!
i can't say a single bad thing about bret. i use to listen to this when i was 13.. we all have good memories of this song!!
I told my ex wife when I die, you better play this.
🤘
My ex wife 😂😂😂
Legend 😂😂😂
Best song there is, best song there was, best song there ever will be.
90s was a weird time
So beautiful
Simon Cowell made a career of being critical and brutally honest, but yet he approved this?
In fairness he did personally tell bret hart that he needed to sort of talk instead of sing properly
@@LouerTube That was Bret's idea actually and Simon agreed after listening to Bret sing
My dad bought a CD that had 11 songs of these superstars when I was 4. Everyone chose their favorite and this was mine.
This was the funniest thing I’d ever heard as a kid. I never understood why Bret was speaking a ballad.
That William Shatner style 😆

There’s no way to make this easy… Goddamn, Bret Hart, you’re so right on that😂
TO SAY GOODBYE. TO SAY GOODBYE

That was the 90s for 'ya!
I had ghosts haunting my house until i exercised the demons by playing them this.
Top 10 anime ending themes
The end theme to the Bret Hart anime...
Hahahaha this made me laugh so hard IRL coz I was thinking the same thing hahahah
❤❤❤ 😂 @@HeyReia
Damn i miss 1993 and 1994
Lol Bret Hart really went into the stu and recorded this masterpiece!
Absolute banger! 😂
Bret Hart rates this a 4/10. And that's being generous 🤣
It was also a "4" on the U.K. music charts. Yes, it actually did get as high as number four across the pond, according to Bret.
lowkey fire
Jeez!! Takes me back to High School hearing this. Absolutely loved this song. Better times!!
Chorus kinda slaps tbh

SO I’D RATHER TURN AWAY!
The happy break up song lol
This is on par with "Can i borrow a feeling"
Only song on the album that wasn’t a plug
This sounds like Yakuza karaoke music. 😂
This would be fun to sing at a karaoke night
This is how I break up with all my girlfriends

Rumour has it that someone sent this song to Bill Goldberg just before his match with Bret.
Cry -EEENG
NO DENY-EENG
Pet Shop Boys meets Robbie Robertson - not as bad as I was expecting after hearing Bret talk about it lol
This should not exist.
We truly live in the twilight zone
Goodbye
sounds like a Jason Donovan track. I wonder if Bret was talking about his ex-wives!!
He would have still been with his first wife at the time.
Well Pete Waterman did produce this song and Pete Waterman produced for Jason Donovan under Waterman's record label

I would have liked to have seen Bret do a duet with Kylie. It would have been #1 for sure.
😀😁
Just watched a shoot with Bret where he laughs about this song.
It’s got the touch of William Shatner about it.
