What I love about this song is that it perfectly describes a time when a couple could count on each other to make a living day by day, from paycheck to paycheck, because in the end it would all worth it because of a simple bless: they have each other.
Nowadays you work your soul off for almost nothing, people are more interested in other people lives, how "they" get it better, how "they" always look happier on Instagram, and then that person you thought would hold the world together with you leaves for someone else with more money, to go party almost everyday, take pictures and to live a fake synthetic life made just for show; or tries to backstab you in the name of oportunism and pure hypocrisy. Then you realize you probably will never be able to afford a home, or a significant other to just lay by your side in bed and say it's ok, it will all be alright.
Life changed. The world changed. And if you read until here thinking the same, I honestly hope everything gets ok to you, keep livin' on a prayer, you and me both deserve it.

I got a story to tell about this song. I went to the Monsters of Oz tour in 2023 (Parkway Drive headlined) it was an all Aus Metalcore tour. In between bands they would have music playing to pass the time and between one of the sets, this song came on and the ENTIRE venue went dead silent, any and all conversation stopped and we as a whole sang this song in it's entirety from start to finish, and we all hit that chorus with an unmatched passion. It was the only time that night that the venue was that loud and you could just feel the energy.
I remember thinking to myself that I wish my mum could've been at the show to hear that, she would've loved it so much. I should've recorded it too because it was a beautiful thing. I'll never forget it that's for sure, was easily my favorite part of the show that night
