Apologies for the substandard quality on the background footage. My editing software was having trouble rendering the video, and it seems this was its solution to get around it. Only way to fix it would have been to reshoot parts, but of course the software never told me which parts to reshoot :(
Not a bad idea at all, but honestly, I want to see more stress relief. I immediately unlocked Leper and upon see that he has two stress heals when he's first acquired, I really thought every character would have access to some stress healing. But it's honestly really hard to find.
To all the people in the comments, leper, GR, and fleg aren't cute, they're hot! I'd say the only character that comes close to her cuteness is runway, mainly because how much she reeks of "ITS NOT A PHASE DAD" angst lol
Another maa and pd synergy i like to have fun with is when the fight is about to end, maa can just guard someone that needs to be healed so indiscriminate science gets a bonus 10/15% heal :)
Highly recommend locking in the Lethal Feint on PD if given the opportunity. Throw out a plague grenade or magnesium rain with it and you'll clear out dodges multiple while also getting some crit tokens for the next turn to make up for the initial damage loss or one really insane Indiscriminate Science heal. Basically gives PD Take Aim vs anything that dodges or blinds.
I think magnesium rain is one among the most unstable and well balanced abilities of darkest dungeon 2. Just think about all the "on hit" trinket and abilities how broken they tend to be with something that hit all rank at once while also appling dot. Magnesium rain tend to be almost always in my kit exception made for some comps where corpse clear is fundamental or in the sprawl (P.s and bosses of course). It tends to be a huge starter move for dodge token clear.
the speed token on emboldening vapours+ is deceptively good. there's the more obvious application where you give it to your damage dealers to guarantee they go first and hopefully kill an enemy before they get their turn off, but speed has stronger utility regarding deaths door. if one of your teammates is at death's door with a dot, PD can speed herself so that she'll always be able to rescue them before a death's door check (one of the biggest complaints of death in the first game!). alternatively, you can speed a teammate who has a healing item and leave PD's action for herself, especially if you suspect she'll become incapacitated (e.g. the enemy has moves that can pull her, daze her, stun her, etc.) or if she has to decide between doing what could be a fight-winning bit of damage or saving a teammate that will die next round. of course, speed can enable a teammate to do anything first, which can be HUGE for slow characters like MAA / vestal, and can afford them some extra room to get value, knowing they'll go before any enemy action next round (e.g. you EV vestal, she uses her strength this round to take out an enemy, she uses her speed next round to heal/guard/cleanse a teammate.) EV+ is almost like a mini-encore, and it's one of very few ways to reliably manipulate your team's turns: don't sleep on it!!
If someone is at deathsdoor and it's PD's turn you most likely want to heal with her as she's the best healer in the game. Speeding up another character for next round results in most circumstances in unnecessary risks of the character dying. It's not even close to being an Encore. Using EV is trading enormous amounts of dmg for a +50% boost that's additive. Even without any trinkets/quirks/paths it's a 100% dmg (e.g. using a "hitting" skill) vs a +50% dmg on someone else. It's a net loss in every case. This skills is pretty much useless and needs a drastic rework/buff.
Video idea (if you haven’t already): your favorite / least favorite parts of DD2, mechanics you were happily surprised by / disappointed with, things you wish they would have carried forward from DD1 / things you’re glad they left behind
I platinumed the game on launch. (Except 20k leagues achivement)I played alchemist exclusively..(even on stygian flames) But I see a lot of surgeon talks. Have to try it out. What's your best comp with surgeon?
If 'cause of death' could benefit from strength tokens it would be awesome, maybe busted. Personally, I wish 'disorienting blast' would give combo instead of consume it on upgrade to make her a secondary marking hero.
Most of the apply on hit trinkets are really fun on her because of plague grenade and mag rain. Fisherman's reel can be pretty ridiculous if you can get the required complements. Also, worth mentioning that if you're running alchemist, corrupting bile gland's downside is a lot less impactful.
I believe the Surgeon path adds the melee damage to cause of death as well, it adds the +25 percent to whatever amount of DOT the target has, the bigger the amount the bigger the benefit.
@@rookie2128 I don't see how that is contrary to what I proposed? From what I can remember, the damage of the ability is just multiplied by 0.25 of what the sum of the DOT is when on the surgeon path
@@GoodRetroGames You can just test it. Yes, it's considered a melee skill No, it's not affected from any source of +%dmg (or weaken) It can not crit and does not consume a crit token
Mag rain used to be even more busted cuz enemies get dodge more often than block and mag rain pings those off very efficiently. Nowadays it’s less efficient, so that 1 damage would be a really nice add
if there are 2 characters that make a team feel good its PD and MaA. PD more than anyone else tho i feel saves my a$$ from dying. Best heals in the game, Indiscriminate Science is OP. its always the first mastery point i spend
CoD just speeds up DoTs, but bosses with like 3 turns per round have their DoTs already moving at lightning speed to the point they might as well be instant damage
For extra damage: use Grave robber with full poison Path, flagelant and position 3 so you can use cause of dead (it ignore counter tokken or any defense tokken).
Often I just can't bring myself to leave her out of the party. The healing is just too much of a crutch for a noob like me. Plus, with good trinket rng she can do ridiculous blight damage
It's a very reasonable comparison. Sure, command is marginally more useful, but they're both bad enough to be completely outcompeted by other moves in most situations.
@@jankaigailus6702 At that point of the game (crazy dot synergies between paths/memories/trinkets and combat items) I think even a 2x str + 2x crit on EV could still be worse than a Noxious/Grenade

Shuffle when audio quality is only excellent and not perfect:
Shuff vid is shuff vid
It's fine Shuff, still a very good and informative video
I feel like ‘Emboldening Vapours’ needs an extra effect, like remove daze/stun at base and remove weakness when mastered
Yes please. More sources of remove blind/weaken would be great to encourage phys comps
I also love the speed buff when it is mastered to preemptively attack annoying enemies before they have a chance to act

You didn't mention her hidden ability: being the cutest in the roster.
This is a grave robber neighborhood
Wrong, flagellant
I am a grave robber simp but I cannot deny the cute factor of PD

I feel you bro, thank god we got shufflefm
Only Man at Arms left to go man, great job so far on these videos :D
Great video, Shuff! Thank you for your work! :)
Physician playstyle sounds appealing to me. The trinket that gives block through ounce of prevention sounds awesome to me.
I hope rh changes the pet that heals on corpse kill to affect corpse clearing, it would be helpful to mag rain giving pd some self sustain
The first path for PD ,surgeon, is one of the easiest to use healer that I feel most people enjoy enough to not change very often
Locked Jaw + Surgeon + Text book= Ultimate PD

I love using magnesium rain to get rid of dodge tokens in creature dens for example, helps a lot!
Plus the corpse clear helps keep the corpse eaters in the dens from going wild.

i don't think that's the case, the way cause of death is coded is more akin to causing the enemy to lose hp rather than registering as a hit

taking Physician to the Sprawl and chucking burn trinkets on her is definitely the way to go. They're actually so so easy to get it's kind of absurd.
With the existence of conservation I think emboldening bapors should be buffed a little
Indiscriminate Science has to be the strongest ability in the game bar none. That shit's cracked.
Encore still exists but yeah
@@lazerax9 Maybe, but only because it lets you sidestep DOTs.

Grave Robber and Flagellant are the best wanderers. For everyone else it's usually a strict downgrade.

Wow... even with a path focused on disorienting blast, it's still not worth using huh?
It’s very passive, and has a decent chance to not really do anything. Unlike plague grenade which helps you end combat in 2-3 turns
Is that only my wandering why this game does not get a reward for music
Comparing emboldening vapours to MAA's command is funny and sad.
