The "wake up early" part is my favorite. As a kid my grandparents instilled in me an axiom that I've carried my whole life. "When you wake up, get up; and when you get up wake up."
Jocko speaks about my whole life becoming a leader, learning how to speak, learning how to learn, learning how lead teams of people. It's a progression of skills. Nothing easy but turned out I had a great career. Super important things to learn about challenges.
One of the best interviews Jocko has done in recent memory, great to hear a logical non-partisan perspective from someone who has seen the absolute worst, and best of humanity.
I'll be honest i seen this video a few times and never thought to watch it due to glen beck.. ive heard some of his views and just thought nope not my thing. Very glad i did as great interview and lets face it was never going to be bad when JOCKO is your guest.
If you looked up the word "intense," there would be a picture of Jocko. He has a razor sharp mind, and he already has thought of 6 ways to kill you. I want him on my team. haha.
Absolutely FANTASTIC PODCAST!!😃👍 Really good, fresh breakdown, with the meeting of these two important, fascinating, and influential men. 👏 👏 👏 Some very honest, and golden truth was spoken in this podcast. 👍 it was= GOOD 💪 😉👍
What great vulnerability Beck shows; that's a kind of bravery, too. I'm a great admirer of Jocko's and, while he's a fine interviewer, it's good to hear him on the other side.
Why because he went to a foreign country and murdered a bunch of people and for what? don't tell me you believe they were over there protecting Americans rights? They were over there enforcing American empiricism, we don't have to be thankful he was paid for his services.
“What does it matter if a 110 lb woman can’t defeat a 230 lb man? It DOES. You can buy yourself time to get more help”. Thank you. That makes sense. I’m in a situation where I am vulnerable & nervous. I did self defense training years ago, but I’m going to go into Brazilian jujitsu. I need a stronger, smarter mind and body.
44:20 having money and ending in the gutter 45:30 "if you only do what you want to do you'll end up in the gutter" 45:58 "if you have disciple you'll end up with the things that you want in the world"
This was great! Thank you Glenn, and thank you Jocko! I discovered Jocko from Joe Rogans podcast, and he never disappoints. It’s funny to see these two together, with how different their personalities are, but they both pulled it off! Glenn, you should try to get Ron Paul on, last time you were supposed to sit down with him, your daughter went into labor and Stu had to finish.
My dad said I had much more confidence than actual skill and he was not paying me a compliment. I would try anything no matter the risk and put me in a room with a hundred other guys and I would be in charge by the next day. I was a soldier and police officer most my adult life. and served as sergeant in both.
I'm a fan of Glenn, I'm a fan of Jocko - Great Podcast. One thing I would like to say and ask is this .... Your audio is leaps and bounds above most other podcasts / youtube channels. What kind of mics do you guys use? And a huge shout out to your audio team. They knock it out of the park on these episodes.
Akira, I have been listening to your albums for months now! I started with "The Path" and now I've heard everything on Spotify, I am fascinated by it, and can't get enough. Thank you!
Man, now if only Glenn would have on David Googins, Joe Rogan, Dr. Rhonda Patrick, and David Sinclair we could get him to become super Glenn!😂 Seriously though, can you see the look on Pat, Stu, and Jeffy's face when Glenn starts bustin out "Burpies" , tappin out commies, and living too 150!😂😂 But all jokes aside- THIS is the content (guests like Jocko) that you can't take your eyes or ears off the entire interview.😊👍 Thank you G&J
Jocko is a True American Hero and an inspiration to many. In retrospect I'm sure Beck would not have said "not good enough for DEVGRU". Uninformed comment.
My worst nightmare is letting the rage out. My worst nightmare is being unleashed. Not that I would be unjust, but because I would be just in an unjust world. What would the modern-day media's view of King David be?
Great, amazing podcast/interview! This is going to be one of the best interviews to impact my life. I live with a disability from an accident where the persons that caused the accident didn't take ownership of that accident. This has left me physically, mentally and financially worse overall. Maybe it's time to see if I can do something different about the pain than medication and all of its side effects.
Poor interview...sounds like Glenn just wanted to settle his own curiosity about war and warriors. Jocko willink has more to offter than just his opinion of martial arts and combat.
You can watch Jocko in so many other interviews where he shares all of that. What's wrong if Glenn just wanted to concentrate the 1 hour podcast into that?
Great conversation between to guys, different type of guys coming together talking about important things of our time. Will we make it? Will we come together as country? Good question
I cannot believe that Glenn Beck questioned Jocko's ability and competency as a SEAL (you weren't good enough for team 6?) immediately after Jocko opening up about Michael Monsoor. He (Beck) should be ashamed of himself.
Tim, I hope it was just a bad edit. It was very awkward. Jocko had just shared something very personal for him to follow up with that question. I actually grimaced.
@@ruanjacobs9900 I'm not saying Jocko couldn't make SEAL Team 6. Maybe he was fine leading his platoon of men an honorable position for any SEAL. More than half of SEAL/s fail to make it to ST6 bc the training is that more intense that's why they get the most difficult mission like killing OBL etc. I think Glenn was intimidated by Jocko and the question came off in the wrong way. I have the utmost respect for Jocko.
THANK YOU SO MUCH GLENN FOR BRINGING US SUCH TIMLY PROGRAMMIMG THAT IS SO INFORMATIVE. GOD BLESS YOU AND AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always been a big fan of you Glenn, you did a great. Jocko has been a Great Hero of mine, and I am truly Grateful for all he has done for our Great Nation and what he has been continuing to give us, Thank God for BTF
Exactly- what a dumb statement. It’s taking everything I have not to curse my head off. Beck looks so unprofessional, unprepared, uninformed, and asking many questions like a little freshman wimp trying to talk to the cool senior. This whole podcast was BEYOND embarrassing . OMG I just heard him say you look like a GI joe doll---- what a f ..,,
This is why Jocko is so good. He boils down what a man is. A man just "does what he's supposed to do ".
The fact that Jocko speaks without using the word "like" to complete sentences is golden
Bryan Forth this. I have so much trouble with this.
@@JavierMercedes why do you have trouble Javier?
I've also never heard him say "Im super excited"
You also don't hear Jocko saying "um, or ah" either. He speaks with purpose.

Good job man. It took me until I was 46 (which I am now) and started reading/listening to Jocko. He was a life changer for me.
@@dangc8315 I too am 46. The lessons like what Jocko are teaching are great lifelong lessons.
That is fantastic. I am 26 and i am lucky that i have access to this kind of wisdom...just gotta figure out how to do it lol

That's a great quote, and an even better philosophy!! Your grandparents seemingly were on the right path!
Jocko is changing lives, one person at a time, with his message of disciple and responsibility coupled with ownership of every aspect of your life.
Jocko speaks about my whole life becoming a leader, learning how to speak, learning how to learn, learning how lead teams of people. It's a progression of skills. Nothing easy but turned out I had a great career. Super important things to learn about challenges.
Infinite respect for Jocko. When he speaks, I listen.
You just wont find such quality and honesty in the mainstream. Awesome work. Awesome guests. every single time
Yes, watch the Jocko podcast for quality and honesty. Glenn Beck makes this a joke though
Love Jocko, this is a great episode. Glenn is fangirling so hard. Haha
Can you blame him?!
Glen, thanks. Jocko is a national resource and you brought out some of the best in him.
I feel like Glen Beck is hiding a great fried Chicken recipe in his jacket pocket
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They need to get him in with Norm MacDonald and Jim Gaffigan in a new KFC commercial.
Glenn probably has more than one recipe in his pocket. : )
I watch Jockos podcasts all the time and I’m honored to have been able to listen to his wisdom.
Some of these questions are so random, and when you ask a question let them answer it without interruption.
Minute 43: It is a sin, it is a Sin to squander the opportunity we have here....
Boom 💥. Jocko is badass and smart as hell

The sad thing about this is this was three years ago. I would love to hear their perspective now.
I dislike Glenn Beck, but I love Jocko Willink.
This sums up the sentiment perfectly
4:02 i want to find someone that looks at me the way Glen looks at Jocko
You can tell that Glenn is not very informed about some of topics they discuss but he still conducts a fine podcast. Get after it people!

He did 20 years in the teams, not 8.
He did 8 'active' years as a SEAL
Zachary Smith No, he did 20. There is no difference between combat deployments and stateside, it’s all active duty.
