The steps that the Working Families Party in Philadelphia has done to get Republicans off of City Council, so that the "guaranteed minority seats" go to Working Families Party members has been inspirational. We now have two fantastic progressive on City Council under the WFP- Nicholas O'Rourke and Kendra Brookes, along with a couple of great progressives under the Democratic Party. That is how to build grassroots power, even though the conservative Dem party machine booted Dem ward members who advocated for split ticket voting to help the WFP candidates get on the council.
True story. These are the people we should be pushing for office, actual community leaders and organizers who have actually gotten shit done
As a proud son of Kensington myself, I see the efforts of the WFP daily
"Name-calling " pathetic and weak answer. Is she saying let's nit call a thing as it is? Biden has already called putin a war criminal. She has zero idea what she us talking about.

It’s weird nobody has asked trump basic civic questions like how many seats are in congress, how many amendments are there, what are the three branches of government etc. These are questions that would be on the citizenship test and I guarantee he couldn’t answer.
Probably because his supporters don’t know either and don’t care if he does.

Jill Stein is a grifter, in so many words
I sm sure everyone is a grifter to you. Are trump, Harris, rfk not all worse grifters in the griftometer you use.
I can also remember when she came mask.off with the gritting 8 years ago. No one defending her has made a case for where all that money went that she raised AFTER the 2016 election.
Right... Kamala who's being funded by Israel and wall street, while claiming to be for working people definitely not a grift.😂🤦
@@tonyclifton2230 if you have zero chance of winning but you pretend like you do to further your career, that’s grifting
@gnomechomsky2524 what nonsense. You put your name down to say I want to lead and this is what I will do. You can't turn around and go well I am not going to win. Your whole mandate is based on having power. There is also certain goals they want to attain so they have to be seen as viable to meet those goals. That is not grifting.
Jill Stein's inability to condemn Putin as a war criminal reminds me of an Upton Sinclair quote: It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it.
This quote must be used much more frequently!
She met with Putin before the 2016 election. This just confirms that she's paid for.
As a former Green Party member myself, yeah, they really don't care about building influence these days, just grifting.
They were better before Nader. They actually organized in Florida in the early nineties. DSA and WFP are so much better
Didn't she misappropriate the 2016 Recount money? Literal, blatant grifting, as you said... Why didn't she face accountability
Stein is the biggest political grifter.
@@JackAShepherdYes. Totally 100%.
They’re a disappointment in the UK and Australia, in spite of increasing votes they seem to have less influence because theyre unable to force centrists towards good policy when the right is still so dominant in legacy media and running fear campaigns

Jill Stein and The Green Party are as clueless as Trump when it comes to actually implementing policy…just a bunch of empty promises with no strategy to fulfill them.

This comment section is such a joke. The butthurt really come out of the woodwork and show their true colors when you start talking about third parties that might compete with the milquetoast Dems. Everyone complains about the Dems all the time for not being progressive enough, but then they jump on any third party that might compete and bring REAL ISSUES to light.
We have a two party system that DOESN'T ALLOW third parties to exist. In other countries with much better systems, third parties have access and resources to build their parties. They don't have to pass some ridiculous bar to be given funding or a seat in a debate. None of this was even broached by AOC or The Majority Report. Just more, "Why can't you just thrive in a system that prevents you from thriving? It must be your fault."
Worse than clueless. The misleading of the people who have supported her? What a disgrace!
@@censorshipagainstthemiddle6198I'm glad you figured it out on your own. 👏
From my time operating with the Green Party (1996-2000), I can tell you that the core of activists were wealthy, elderly retirees with an ecological fixation of some sort. So if you want to be the Lorax in your retirement, this is the place to go. If you want half chance at getting something real done, you'll have to elect and then pester your local Democrat.
Except Democrats and Republicans will never listen to the people. They're both too far right wing and gone now. The masks are off that they collaborate to support Wallstreet and Imperialism first. So our only option for change is a major overhaul from the ground up of our systems, and the can only happen with a grass roots movement at every level.
There’s a new coalition that has been forged through blood of Palestinian women and children, that shall be here to challenge the “left” that we feel isn’t left enough, consisting of Arabs, Muslims, 3 way split of black vote, working class and anti war vote. And we’ll be growing from there.
How much pestering until we reform Eric Adams?
Oh yeah how’s that working out? Oh right, it’s not.
@@robm6645for those you can’t reform, you push them out in favor of another candidate. More ppl should run themselves for office.
Stein has a funny Russian connection she won't talk about and doesn't manage to cover up very well. Chris Hedges, same. The issue is that struggling journalists and activists get offered Russian money simply because they are "destabilizers".
It’s one of the reasons why reforming the two party system is a dead movement, not in sentiment, but in political power
All the more reason to keep bleeding the Russian economy like a stuck pig. We should strive for Weimar Germany levels of inflation while Putin and his ilk remain in power.
@@didncozosksma4466We need ranked choice voting first
Yup, FFS, this is exactly what Liz Wahl was addressing when she resigned from RT during a live transmission back in 2014, after Russia had invaded Ukraine.
And when Abby Martin, who had expressed discomfort with what Liz Wahl did, gave her own honest opinion on Russias occupation of Crimea, live on air, RT publicly pretended to support her right to do so, but behind the scene she was heavily reprimanded for going against the editorial line….
Sadly we see several former contributors to RT who either down right defend Russia's actions towards Ukraine, or try to deflect from condemning Russia with some heavy-handedly "what’about’ism" regarding the State of Israel or the USA….
Honestly, at best they’re simply incapable of understanding that we can condemn actions by all three simultaneously!
Yes, the USA has a history of doing some messed up messing around in third world countries - and the support it has provided for Israel, and various other regimes, both military and politically is nauseating!
The government of Israel’s continued refusal to respect any UN resolutions and the constant violations of International Law, including the Rules of War (which are very similar to the violations committed by Russia towards Ukraine), is despicable - and this is not even encompassing the downright genocide they’re perpetrating against the Palestinian population, which is downright disgusting.
But none of the above should stop anyone from condemning Russia!!!
Au contraire - condemning Russia for its actions against Ukraine is necessary unless you’re a hypocrite!
Oh, and before anyone goes "but Zelenskyj supports the State of Israel" - Zelenskyj is not in a position where he can afford to do anything else, as he still hope Israel will change position and send much needed military aid to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia! He is not in the privileged position we hold - so pressure towards Israel should come from the people WE elect, not be required from people desperately defending themselves against an invasion…..
Chris Hedges is such a disappointment. Here’s a guy whose mythology is built on his integrity. He quit his job as Middle East bureau chief at NYT because he was so concerned with censorship. He then goes on to take a freaking paycheque from a genocidal lunatic Margarita Simonyan at RT.
Chris Hedges takes kremlin blood money! The hypocrisy is staggering.
Can Jill Stein call Netanyahu a 'war criminal' (at the least)?
If so,
she shouldn't have any problem calling Putin one.
True, but honestly Israeli government criminality (when it comes to international law & violence) makes Russia look like a jaywalker in comparison. The only area Russia has Israel beat is in sheer sq miles of annexed territory, but in terms of % of the land occupied, Israel has them beat still lol. Russia killed 500 children & 12k civilians in ~3 years. Israel killed 500 kids in 3 days, 17k kids & 15k women in 8 months. (Nvm all the civilian adult men on top of that). Stein is likely able to condemn Israel, bc it serves Russian interests to do so, bc it points out US hypocrisy & undermines international law's credibility.
The last name Stein should tell you All you need to know

Heck, it can even be completely unwittingly.
But some people apparently believe that it’s only if someone is working directly under the control of a foreign government that it’s an asset!
An asset simply describes a "tool"!
It can be equipment, or humans.
If I can persuade you to give me information I want, or do things for me, then you’re technically an asset, especially if it turns out that it’s consistent.
Let’s say you work at a research facility, and we meet at a gym and starts talking. Of course it’s possible that I’m just a friendly curious Gorilla, but it’s also possible that I’ve turned you into an asset, in an attempt to gain information for a competing company!

On these type of missions, especially when doing recon, building good relations with the local population can be highly valuable.
One of the classics is giving the kids candy, and that makes the kids an asset when it comes to building relations and gain information.

Another example, and this is something we did during my deployments on the Balkan Peninsula back in the 90's and early 00's.
On these type of missions, especially when doing recon, building good relations with the local population can be highly valuable.
One of the classics is giving the kids candy, and that makes the kids an asset when it comes to building relations and gain information.
These kids and their parents would then go on and tell others that we were "good guys", and the people they told it to, would tell others, and so on.
This is how assets works - and through her actions and what she says, Jill Stein is a major asset for Russia….
I’m so glad y’all’s favorite girl Jill stein is finally showing her true colors so y’all can stop trying to make her one of our options no thanks ‼️‼️‼️
Very happy to see MR call this out for what it is. I've seen a lot of people I've previously respected come out and support Jill Stein and it's absurd.
What's a criminal these days? Zelenzky? Putin? Biden? Trump? Supreme Court justices? Macron? Jonnson? Trump? Clinton (pick one or two)? Obama? Bush (pick one or two)? Netanyahu?
Exactly
Is this some attempt at "whatabouting"? If so, this is NOTHING but a defense of ACTUAL WAR CRIMINALS, like Putin.
I refuse to believe someone real would stoop this low - like *please* be a Russian bot.
If you don’t know the difference, you’re part of the problem.
Is this a 'whatanoutism'? If yes, f off. Nobody is defending those people, were just ALSO including Putin and Assad to the list
I am.
I dont know...i liked Jill Stein but she has had me confused for far too long
Can we focus on getting Kamala to call Netanyahu a war criminal?
Signed,
everyone who actually wants to actually defeat trump and not “dunk” on Jill Stein.
We can do more than 1 thing at a time! Go see any of the myriad videos where they do the very thing you say they don't do here!
Exactly. As a voter, it’s a lot more important to me that a candidate clearly and honestly assess the terroristic actions of regimes we fully fund than what terms they call our adversaries.
Harris has never and would never call Netanyahu a war criminal, even though his crimes are millions of times more horrific than Putin’s.
But of course, Harris (and Biden) are war criminals too.
Jill Stein is the ONLY presidential candidate with ballot access that is not a war criminal.
someone has never had a threesome. We can multi-task
@@picahudsoniaunflocked5426 Kamala Harris has not once referred to Netanyahu as a war criminal, I won’t find her saying that in any TMR video. My point is that it’s absurd to bash Jill Stein for not calling out a war criminal (as directly as they’d like) for being a war criminal when the candidate they are actively supporting is also not calling out a war criminal, offering unconditional financial and diplomatic support to said war criminal, and making campaign promises to become a war criminal. Disingenuous in the extreme.
I heard in another interview that Jill Stein didn't even know how many are in the House of Representatives. They care SO LITTLE about how government actually works, you really do have to wonder.
It's a war, and the act is criminal, but a war criminal? I mean, in a sense.... XD
Thing is to GENUINELY get an alternative, you need to be united. What's the point of being against war criminals and then trying to undermine the ONLY anti war politician?
Sometimes our opposition towards war requires that we wage it!
If you believe in concepts such as Human Rights, you have to realize that force can be a necessity to protect them!
When a country, in this case Russia, attacks another country, in this case Ukraine, the anti-war position is to support Ukraine, or you’re rewarding the actions you claim you’re against!
Same logic can be used in regards to human rights!
Take freedom of expression, this is something that needs protection, so you have to guard it from people who are abusing it to spew hate, and in some situations this requires that you set certain limits, set boundaries that must not be crossed without consequences….
Jill Stein isn’t anti war, she is pro rewarding Russia waging war!
Heck, even her support for the Palestinians is nothing but virtue signaling!
She told her followers to vote for Trump if they couldn’t bring themselves to vote for her!
Trump didn’t stop arming Israel, or any other war waging regimes.
Trump did what not even the most Israel friendly POTUS in the past has dared doing, when he moved the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem - this action alone has caused more harm to a possible peace process than you can imagine…..
Mehdi Hasan for the WIN!!!
she has the concept of a plan
She has concepts and ideas of what a war criminal could be
Sam: Do you have a plan to build the green party in non-election years?
Jill Stein: I have concepts of a plan
Stein is such a joke
Sam has aged about 20 years since 2016.
Covid might have contributed.
I'm 21 and feel like I've aged 20 years since 2016
watching too much tim pool, donald trump, and laura loomer can do that to you...............
He was already up there in age during 2016. Hes an older guy bro calm down 😂. Youre gonna get there too
Sam looks better now imho. & apparently he has killer calves. (Emma & Matt tease-praised him on his calves recently).
Totally agree about how the party just doesn't fucken move. I hate that Jill Stien is the only person we can have run. We could have had a strong movement but they have gone down hill. The democrats did do a lot to block and discouraged this party. And that sucks because we have worked with them as fast as voting for them. Reality is we are a protest vote.
She likes the attention from the Dore, Greenwald, Taibbi types
ah yeah the ones with the brains of dolphins
@@ryanpaul1403 Dolphins are smarter.
In other words, the other Russian assets.
She sounds like a 19 year old kid who has great ideas but doesnt understand how to build a movement and political power. You have to build the party infrastructure from the ground up gain enough influence to push the major political party. Look at how much influence Bernie and Warren have had. Way more than the green party ever has.
She sounds like a 19 year old kid who didn't do her homework in college.
I’m pretty sure there have been warrants out for both Netanyahu and Putin for some time now…
Other than that Mehdi is on point 🎯
Edit: ok Emma got me on that one, I thought that announcement from earlier this year was that they HAD issued warrants for Netanyahu, not that they were planning to.
You're wrong you admit it so don't hide your correction & leave your misinformation above the line. How disingenuous.
@@picahudsoniaunflocked5426 I didn’t hide anything??? What the hell is your problem
As a non-American, Jill just strikes me as being a true anti-imperialist progressive. I wouldn't call Putin a war criminal if I were comparing him to a man motivated by genocidal colonisation either. The prompt needs an answer that an interview doesn't allow the time for.
i get some people wanting a 3rd party candidate, both main parties arent doing anybody any real favors lately, but i remember when Stein sat next to Putin at an RT event and was loving it. i cant vote for her.
Dr Jill "I had no idea Putin was going to sit next to me" Stein.
FUN FACT: America struggles hard to use words like "war crime" regarding Russia, or the Soviet union. Because that opens the debate for using the same word against USA and American colonisation and overreach too. This is an absolute true fact.
But if she can say it about Bibi/Biden, but can't about Putin...
@@jammiebooker6489Well Kamala and Blinken are war criminals too as well as every POTUS since Zionism
Where the fuck do you see Americans failing to call Putin a war criminal?
It's his prefix at this point
We don't want Israel held accountable because We The People are 💯 culpable for all the horror Israel has unleashed for generations
You seem absolutely confused
You must be one of the Greens marks
so russian colonialism is ok? becuz america bad?
Saw the whole interview and God damn, this woman and her campaign is pathetic and I'm not even talking about the Russia stuff. Don't really care about that, but holy sh..
When Harris calls out Netanyahu and Gallant as War Criminals.
Ah so jill cant do something and be better because of what someone else doesn't do? Not a good way to make her look principled or remotely serious, just seems like a deflection. She should be able to do it and stand up for whats right regardless of what others are doing. Its why i dont take third party seriously because they dont have real principles
@@ligma212 If you are only concerned with your concerns and rights as a 'Trans person of color' and already stated your support for Harris than what do you care about what any Third party in the USA says or does?

The fact that we never hear about the Green Patty until Election time is a Huge problem.
She ran out the clock on purpose.😂
Absolutely - gotta keep the grift alive, while pleasing her master in Moscow!
well,
if she's just grifting
then the fact that she's trying to grift for peace and upholding international law is a grift that I would support over what is currently being offered by the duopoly
He's not wrong....but she didn't lay out the nuance the way she could/should have. Call ALL war criminals out, even ALL the ones in our own country. What she should have said is...we can negotiate with Putin (possibly) but there is NO negotiating with Netanyahu. Mostly because we REFUSE to break with him. Then say I will agree he has committed these war crimes, but is possibly open to negotiations.
Exactly, you build a party from the bottom up, you don't miraculously win the Presidency then everything falls into place.
Completely absent from any of this discussion is the fact that we have a two party system that you have to get 5% of the vote in the presidential election to get any funding and the other two parties do everything they can to eliminate any competition. Third parties aren't even allowed in the presidential debates because long ago they were stripped from the League of Women Voters and are now run by reps from the two parties only.
Third parties are able to get power in other countries much easier because they have systems that actually allow other parties to exist. Our system would be much better if it was possible for any third party to gain power. The Greens haven't not gained power because of some flaw. Did you ever think they might not be able to gain power because the system is rigged against them?
Is there any other third party that has been able to gain any amount of power for any amount of time in our country for 150 years? No.
Exactly. The Democrats also use voter suppression tactics to keep them out of the media and off the ballot. The Republicans aren't the only ones to fight dirty.
And the Green Party did earn the 5% to qualify for federal funding and recieved notification of it from the treasury department. Unfortunately the Democrats have refused to give out the money for it, so the Green Party had to file a lawsuit. Lawsuit after lawsuit between both parties all over the country over this election. It's where a lot of money gets spent. Democrats try and kick them off the ballot for stupid reasons and they have to defend and fight back.
Yes Socialists won Mayorships of major US Cities in the 30’s and 40’s and their was an effective 3rd party in the Midwest that had a few congressmen and a senator at one time.
@@AloisWeimar wow, I guess you got me there. A few mayorships almost 100 years ago sounds like third parties are just prolific in the US. Almost comparable to every other country that has several to dozens of parties with major representation in government.
Ross Perot got 19% of the vote in 1992 because he was allowed in the debates (the dems and republicans who had just taken over control of the debates and learned their lesson changed the rules after Perot to prevent more third party contenders) Guess how many electoral votes Perot got for his almost 20% of the vote? Zero! None! The Reform Party got public funding and quickly fizzled within a few years doing even less beyond a presidential run than the Greens, who never achieved public funding.
The Green Party is the fourth largest party in the US and only has 143 out of 519,000 political offices in the US, none of them in federal government, or state level offices. The Libertarians, the third biggest party, have 177 seats out of 519,000 potential, 1 seat in a state lower chamber, the rest local level positions.
The phrase "virtue signalling" has been thrown about willy-nilly in comment threads so frequently that it's lost almost all meaning. But Jill Stein and her ilk have epitomised the art of "virtue signalling". They say all the right things to resonate with leftists and progressives but they're either insincere or inept.
I would love to see the Green Party succeed and at the very least, force the Republicans and Democrats to contend with a more progressive agenda, but so far, they're very bad at strategy.
Take a shot every time Stein says lesser evil.

I appreciated the tough questions, but he kept jumping in and preventing Stein from explaining WHY she was answering that way. I think I got the angle, but the interviewer didn't let us hear it.
You guys never talk about Claudia De La Cruz and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. There are more third parties than just the Greens.
Emma mentioned PSL at the very end - but in general, you're right.
Bc they aren't serious neither
Clearly you're missing the point
Anyone only showing up for POTUS election is grifting. You can't just steal the presidency it's impossible plus a 3rf Party POTUS would be completely useless Democrats and Republicans would work together to sabotage that POTUS.

I want to see the green party hijacked by progressive independent media. Get Sam, Emma, David Pakman, Destiny, Cenk, Kyle,... whoever to run in the green party primary and whoever wins can make a list of demands for the democrats in exchange for the greens dropping out of the presidential race.
The fanbases of any of these shows are more than the green party has. It would be so easy, and it could shut down these candidates like Stein, who only want to get Trump elected
cenk the transphobe is progressive? he’ll be running as a republican in a few years
David is garbage now. He still supports Israel and denies it's an apartheid.
The American Greens are pretty wild to me as an Australian. Someone defended the US Greens by saying they have '150 elected officials'. I thought the Australian Greens probably had a similar number. It turns out it's just about on the nose, 150 elected officials across councils, state houses and the federal government. Including, importantly, 4 MPs/Reps and 11 Senators in the federal houses. Now, the Australian Greens aren't taken very seriously as a political party here, and if anyone announced a serious bid to become PM for the Greens they'd be laughed out of the room. But meanwhile the US Greens, who have the same number of elected people as the Australian party, in spite of operating in a country with 13 times the population and have never had any one in either federal house, are regularly running 'Presidential' candidates... what the hell is going on?
They exist to siphon off votes from the Democrats to benefit the Republicans, and in this case, Trump. That's it.
You're wrong, Sam. She IS a Russian asset.
I find it insane how small minded people are that talk about the Israel hamas conflict...putin was on his back foot in ukraine, where ukraine was actually the one mounting large scale offensives...ffw, and Republicans blocked aide in a critical time for 8 months, allowing putin to save himself...remember prigozhin during this time was actually taking convoys to moscow embarass the kremlin...well, then all a sudden, hamas attacked Israel and now all the attention has shifted there...iran is russias close ally sending them shahed drones to attack ukraine...its so obvious, that russia begged iran to stir up middle east conflict to distract media and attention from ukraine...the real enemy, and cause of this, is putin and iran who controls these proxies...use your brains people...gaza people are so quick to try and place blame and hold protests, they have no clue what they are doing...if your upset about gaza, there is only 1 man to blame directly, and its putin and russia...its a shame so many people have apparently lost their critical thinking skills...your allowing putin/russia/iran to manipulate you on a grand scale...its embarrassing
Something that should be difficult for NOBODY

Emma saying something positive about the PSL is unexpected and welcome. Claudia De la Cruz is a lot more interesting than Jill Stein.
She's just not going to get elected right now. No 3rd party probably will, but the Green Party has the best shot of them all and is on the most ballots.

Post -Vietnam lefties will always oppose American involvement in foreign wars. Which makes sense to a degree. The problem comes when they try to defend their policy by minimizing the issue at hand, in this case minimizing the crimes of Vladmir Putin. I seem to recall an instance in which Noam Chomsky, in his opposition to mutually assured destruction (a reasonable thing to oppose), tried to claim the Soviets didn't pose nearly the threat people thought.
Americans don't understand putin or Russia. A clearer picture comes from the Baltic States and Ukraine
Too bad that I didn’t vote for Jill Stein.

Mehdi Hasan is the G.O.A.T. American reporters could learn a thing or two from him.
To be clear Emma’s version of the answer to “is Putin a war criminal” would also be an awful and evasive answer in this context and especially coming out of Stein’s mouth would do no less to stifle the claims of her being a Russian asset.
I'm done with her making a theory of her case, but her theory of the case has just been proven wrong over and over and over
Seemed like she said putin was a war criminal like 5 times. Medi just kept asking over and over
No, she didn't - she didn't say that once, but rather twisted herself into knots trying to avoid saying that.
