If criminals know that they won’t be held for more than a day for basically any crime they commit. No amount of cops or soldiers will stem that.
Exactly. This is addressing a symptom and not the root cause which is all this soft-on-crime bullshit.
As usual, it is the elderly, the handicapped, the children who will get their bags checked. While the "You Know Who's" will never get checked because of wayism.
Emigrate to Russia its safe there.
Whats worse is that people do know if they act defensively they will get the book thrown at them. Its called anarcho tyranny. If it was just anarchy that would be an improvement because then the criminals would be dealt with by the populace. But the offensive acting criminals are now the ones getting protection.

Excellent review of the situation here in NYC
The National Guard is only at 2 stations. The police are only huddled in certain stations chatting and on their phones. It’s all optics and there is no way I would give away my civil liberties for the dog and pony show. Maybe we should implement policies that punish criminals.
Hey, I agree. Years ago they had those guards there in NYC for about three weeks, then all of a sudden you didn't hear about them anymore. People should take a look at the actual MTA subway map to see how massive the system is. Not possible to keep guards at ALL stations, and the guards are only position at the tourist areas, like Times Square. And there is usually one or two guards standing there, with their back turned, on their cellphone.
This is being done to get the masses complacent to the coming police state.
Once you get on the train thats where the criminals are.
Time to take a break from democrats for a while their policies have become radical and the results are obvious
Like stopping them at the border when they commit the first crime of not entering legally? Just a thought.
The risk of spending a few hours in jail and seeing a judge for 30 seconds is not exactly what I'd call a deterrent to crime.
Especially if you already have a record. I can imagine you don't want to do a crime and get a record, but once you already have one and your chance at employment has dropped aggresively, you may as well. Hell, if you steal enough, you could be making surgeon income.
Almost all of them will eventually go to jail or prison, but the problem is it can take 2 years or more for their case to go to trial.

Just go to the 'hood' stations where real crime is happening these days..I guarantee you that you will not find a single armed national guard or state troopers there to deter crimes. Real criminals do not possess weapons in their carry-ons and back pack- they are all hidden close to their body, which police can not search without probable cause. Heck, searching random people's belonging is a violation of 4th amendment in first place. He had at least one transit police officer on every train. Then, from 10PM until 6AM, only 2 cars were open, and an officer was on board. Yes, if you rode the subway at night, it was crowded (as bad as rush-hour) with only 2 cars open, but everyone felt secure, and I never had an issue riding the trains during that time.

I was heartbroken at the time- I just couldn’t afford to stay in NYC and chase my dreams anymore, so I returned home defeated with my tail between my legs. A few years later I see the complete collapse and mess that has become of the city that I was so in love with at the time…I’ll call it a blessing in disguise in retrospect. I visited last December and was shocked at how drastically different it felt only a few years later. A much darker, scarier energy all around the city. Where before I always felt protected by the bustling public of NYC, I now felt on edge and threatened, even during the day.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I was studying in NYC in 2019 as an international student, and when covid happened I had to leave school and everything cause I couldn't afford it. And because I'm from a poor country I wasn't able to return to NY after that. I always felt sad about that but lately, I've been feeling better and your comment was really comforting❤
@jo-eo9ld
Nyc not the only place of “dark scary energy”.
san francisco, los angeles, chicago, portland, seattle, denver, philadelphia, any “blue state” city that decided to “defund-the-police”.
See the world, NYC is a shithole kid.
Cities are putrid places that breed crime and live off the vice committed there. Living in a city is degrading to normal people.
@@klau88873 F*** why I refuse to move to Seattle (I'm 12 and I am moving to Seattle)
Ironic that they jailed Daniel Penny for protecting subway riders but now there are hundreds of military personnell protecting subway riders.
Ridiculous that Penny is in jail for keeping subway riders safe that day. A black gentleman did the same thing and NO charges were brought up against him…..two tiered justice…..so sad….
Da Gobbernor is so SHMART😊
@@j.103it was a white person that shot a black dude
Daniel Penny didn't want to do what he did. I'm sure he'd rather it never happened. Jordan Neely should have been in jail long before that happened.
Release Mr. P. NOW!!
Imagine a veteran who served in the second battle of fallujah asking where you got deployed and you respond with *NYC subway*
These are National Guard, it's different purposes.
All I’m going to say is that showing up with a lot of heavy military definitely helped my country (el Salvador) to the point the there’s little to no crime whatsoever and it was the most dangerous country in the world
I don't understand how hard it is to have the stand that violent crimes require harsh punishment
From my observation, Democrats tend to prefer the feelings of others rather than their lives, or status. So long as everyone "feels" good and inclusive, it doesn't really matter if there's violent crime, wealth equality, or anything beneficial. It's about subjective appearance to them, and not objective realities. That's just observation though. They don't explain it as anything other than "You must be a racist right-wing nazi" when I try to learn about their priorities.
Because it would cause jails full of blacks and that doesn't jive with the tv narrative.
No one knows, because everyone loves to complain on RUclips, but no one wants to do anything in real life lol. Yap yap yap!
I don't either it's like the politicians are trying to turn NY into Somalia.
all.done by design! They wanna restric your freedom not crime
Anyone who hasn't seen the movie "Escape from New York" should watch it. Who knew it would come to be so prophetic.
That movie is boring AF!
Even plissken says screw that😊
Anyone that believes that is a conspiracy theory, fear mongering nut job.
Also, Denzel Washington in
The Siege. It's called predictive programming
Call me Snake
There is a division of the police called the Transit Police in Singapore.. they actually ride the subways, and patrol inside the subway trains and get off after a few stops randomly ..and hop on another train .. they patrol in groups of 4..
They started this after the Madrid subway bombing..
Crazy idea here but in Australia we have police officers known as Public Service Officers (PSO for short), that patrol our train stations. That's their job. They aren't regular cops, they just keep people safe at and around train stations. Might be worth considering before rolling out the military 😂
I notice almost every shot of Police or Troops you see them either stood around in groups chatting to each other or talking on their phones ………..would not instil me with great confidence….
It tells me that they (the police/national guard) aren't taking it seriously. They know it's more a show of force then being done with an intent to actually change the situation.
The Nat Guard used to hit on women blatantly
I'm not convinced NYC is finished, but I am convinced it will not recover anytime soon.
This. NY is defined by bust cycles as much as boom cycles. This is as serious a problem as they've ever been in.
The problem is it’s in a death spiral. Crime keeps rising, businesses are leaving, and yet still there is not enough houses. However, due to political polarization, and the fact that NYC has driven out everyone who would vote differently and help pull them out of office this spiral.
So as anyone who even thinks to the right of Mao is driven out and only left wingers are left, then the policies get more and more left, and without that counter, things just get worse and worse .
"People who give away freedom for temporary safety deserves neither freedom nor safety"
All of this is called security theater for a reason. It doesn't keep you safe it makes you feel safe. Those two things are completely different
In the 80s, experimental artists in New York would graffiti images of soldiers walking the streets of the city. It was called "eerie," and "avant garde" back in those days. Today, it's a reality.
@productionf1lms Yeah but I think those artists meant to portray a big brother state where you are constantly watched and controlled. I don’t think they foresaw the reason would be to push back on crime.
Don't kid yourself. It is about a Big Brother State. @@hansmemling2311
@@hansmemling2311Those are kind of the same thing.
@@hansmemling2311ya that was his point, big brother police presence kinda same thing
"experimental artists" Is that what they called vandals?
Just to let you know. National guard isn't necessarily "designed to win a war", they act as the reserve mostly. Whenever a specific MOS(job type in U.S. army active duty) doesn't have the required amount of personnel they pull from National guard. Other than that the national guard is there to serve the people of the state that they are serving.
11B for the win.
@@rg7783only 2 MOS in the army. 11b and 11wannabe.
That is exactly it. The NY DMNA and indeed nearly every State National Guard and State Militia doesnt have the objective of winning a war, and is much more in business of Military Aid to the Civil Power on a day to day basis, this is exactly what they're paid to do - maintain order in their state when the civil power cannot.
Basically, the modern day equivalent of a State Militia, but still under the umbrella of the national military as a whole
My living in New York seeing Military Planes and Helicopters then wonders why they are there now I know yay
Tbh it seems most of the problems stem from the shadiness of subways in general, underground dark tunnel where no one can hear you, recipe for disaster.
a friend of mine was in NYC for a week and all 3 times he was on the subway there were either fights or thefts.
Stop lying ma’am you just want to get some likes on the internet😂😂😂
Tell your friend to stop starting and stealing stuff then! 😅
Check his pockets
