  • I'm at my field every day. sometimes multiple times and NOTHING draws more attention. everyone that sees it is amazed it can fly.

    i saw a weird object in t he sky the day of the eclipse , it looked like two boomerangs for plane wings, it moved like a jet , or a falcon diving but it moved around across the sky so fast I dont think it was a bird cuz it never moved its wings and it was moving so fast across the sky not just a dive position, wtf was it ?

    Anyway, I was in the aviation program for high school a few decades ago, and here's one thing I understood and know why a batwing is very real to fly. Lift is directly proportional to the surface area of an object. The whole entire batwing is all surface area which produces lift including the fuselage. I don't believe there would be an issue even if it was produced life-size to be functional for a human pilot.

      100% I categorize it in the lifting body flying wing aircraft since it feels and flies like a flying wing. I see no reason it wouldn’t behave better at a larger scale either. I will eventually scale it to 90mm and I’ll see what happens

    The stalling in front of the full moon, flexing the bat symbol into the rolling nose dive is what I would HAVE to try with this beast!

      Anyone can scale my designs up to any size because my designs use slicer generated infill so you can just glue the parts together if you split them

    The original design allows it to fly so well. It looks so agile. Whoever created the 89' Batwing should be hired in engineering.

      Degreed Aerospace Engineer here to state this is NOT a stable design and only flies because enough thrust will make anything fly.

    Honestly, even if the Joker and Riddler steal F-22's, in close quarters, Batman will smoke them like a fine cigar. Amazing build, and even more amazing aerodynamics.

      no stickers just black but clear canopy with Batman inside would be cool maybe small sivler guns on the front like in the movie just for the look I know I had a model kit of the batwing and it had the guns had it for many years but it went down the road or in the trash

    Not so long ago I saw a guy in the supermarket late @ night, full silk batman Pajama ensemble including batman slippers, the only things missing was the pipe & the Bruce Wayne smoking jacket, he looked very @ ease & relaxed.

      I wish I could, I just don’t have the time to tie up the printers for 1.5 days. I’m always printing new designs. Plus the shipping alone would be $50 I’m guessing.

    The Batwing looks great in the air. I think the thing that makes it even more cool is how it has some inertia as it responds to big control inputs. Compared to my 'scale' aircraft it looks more scale in flight. It is quite an achievement - Bravo!

    When printing on multiple printers are there any scale issues that pop up?
    Did you print out calibration cubes to dial your printers in so these pieces all fit together using multiple printers?

      I have two Bambu printers and the parts always align and fit perfectly. I’ve had other customers use multi printers and it’s always dead on

    Oh no... not in Florida with PLA 8 months out of the year. That thing would be looking like a hot mess after one flight in the sun. Pretty cool though. I'd print it out of ASA, but only have 64mm fans and honestly that is just by chance since I've never purchased anything smaller than 80mm. I don't think I've ever seen smaller than 64mm except in Horizon RTFs or something.

      The brain knows its attitude automatically. Comes with experience. If you have to actively look and wait to see what attitude its in, you are behind the plane and crash a couple of times due to loss of orientation. It's a normal learning process.
