Yes indeed, stim pistol does stack with medic armor, healing 50% hp per stim with medic armor on (that the stim pistol user has to wear, not the target of stims) instead of 33% normal healing. I also can't wait for the projectile to be buffed, hitting teammates with it is so unreliable

I enjoy the stim pistol because it provides new ways to play the game. Im a big support player and I use it because its fun. Ya fun that thing that people forget to have because everyone is too busy being try hards. I recently had a game where the squad liked to split up. So I picked one guy and followed him. He was running a fire build, had the armor and a flame thrower and was constantly taking damage from bugs and his own fire. I shot so many stims into that man as he waded through hordes of bugs burning the whole way. He survived with no deaths. Its so fun running around shooting your own team mates and actually getting thanked for it.

Stim pistol should add the gas/poison effect to enemies. Figure divers have to be methed out on combat drugs with stims as a booster, so a normal creature receiving a needle full of that nightmare cocktail would drive them crazy
No kidding about the dopamine from the gratitude you get from fellow random helldivers. When you're landing shots and actually save their lives multiple times, it's the greatest feeling ever! I always take experimental infusion in every run. Who doesn't love a free stam refill + speed boost? I'm having a blast with this support pistol!
Killing Floor 2 does the medic class so well. Each gun can kill zeds with bullets and heal teammates with built-in aim assisted stims as an alt fire. They also get a healing grenade that damages enemies/heals teammates.

The stim pistol can actually destroy precisely one thing. Automaton contact mines. Personally I hope to high heaven they never allow you to stim yourself with it, otherwise it goes from being a niche support tool, to a META slaves wet dream, far removed from its intended purpose. Don't believe me? How many people's first (and only) question for the Stim pistol was 'can you heal yourself?' Also thank goodness! Finally a reason to wear medic armor other than having more (and better) stims than everyone else.
I want to be able to stim myself so I can cosplay as Doc, and run support non stop, it would be pretty strong if you could but it's competing with the grenade pistol and considering everything else we've gotten this patch it wouldn't be that big of a deal.
Everyone thought of self stimming because we knew it was going to be garbage for healing other people, way too situational to waste a weapon slot for the snail pace heal when most things in this game kill with 1-2 hits in less than a second. If someone needs to stim themselves 24 times then they shouldn't even be allowed to utter the word meta for how clueless they are, and maybe it should be a thing for such poor souls.
i dont really understand what would be wrong with it being meta. and it's not like it wouldnt come with drawbacks anyways, you are completely giving up your offensive capabilities in your secondary slot. if you cant use the grenade pistol for bug holes, then you cant really (not effectively, anyways) bring something like stun grenades or thermites unless you bring an explosive primary, but then that has an effect on your support weapon, etc.
Take the Blitzer for Bugs or Plasma Punisher for Bots Stun/gas grenades are a must Orbital Gas Strike and HMG Emplacement is a GOATed combo for clearing chaff and taking down the big boys. Supply pack is a fantastic option, but personally I would replace the Shield Generator pack for a rocket sentry, precision strike or 500kg
This weapon desperately needs a tracking/lock-on feature in which I cannot believe wasn't a feature to begin with, literally every other game that has a variant of this weapon has a lock-on feature becuase of inconsistency, literally just slap on a quicker spear lock-on feature and this WILL be far more viable
On bots side i embraced AT-support role. Primary: Diligence CS Secondary: stim-pistol Grenade: gas Armor: medium servo-assisted Stratagems: Recoilless, Gas strike, Precision Strike, Smoke eagle strike. The playstyle is to be on a side and behind your team. Diligence CS is very effective. Just 3 shots in a joint to shoot off rocket striders's leg. 1 tap devastators or shoot of their weapon if head is not visible to me. And solid against gun ships. If i see heavy unit i try to get rid of them ASAP. Since i use servo-assisted even being behind i can throw grenades and stratagems much further. So i use gas strike and grenades to CC enemies. Precision in case i have no rockets or target is behind cover. And smoke eagle strike to cover our retreat or just hide our movement. And of-course stim my teammates from distance. Also seem like our limbs are very weak now. So servo makes me feel more comfortable.
Honestly if gas had stim effects on teammates and a confusion + damage to enemies it would be a really valuable stratagem potential. The gas gun could encourage teammates to push in while you confuse enemies unlike fire which simply halts your advance. It would be great for cultivating the more supportive role the gas warbond already has
Conceptually, it's a wonderful weapon. Execution, it needs some work. The ranged accuracy and travel time (as you mentioned) needs some work, but otherwise it is fairly balanced for a secondary support tool. Although I would like it to be flipped for the medic armor passive, where the receiver (of the stim) gets the bonus effect rather than the applier.
Imo the stim pistol is there to provide a minor heal in one stackable shot which can be hard to land in the heat of battle. This means that your squad should only use their own stims in battle to prevent death but should seek the medic whenever a break in the action occurs or after a battle. I havent unlocked it yet but im looking forward to trying it out in hopes it will prove me right.
A good way I've found to use the stim is to pre-emtively juice everyone when getting into a fight and keep them juiced periodically throughout, this works best with the experimental infusion. Do it right and you essentially give your teammates a constant health regen, damage resist, and speed boost, its a wonderful force multiplier esspecially after the enemy lethality changes.
The stim pistol needs one of two things to become a regular pick for me. 1) Larger Magazine, Faster rate of fire and more dart velocity Or 2) Some degree of homing to target. It has potential, but not worth losing out on a better secondary.
I always equip the experimental infusion booster if someone hasn't already, I basically play the team's drug dealer if they don't need stims for reasons. Got to help my team move quicker and resist damage even if they don't think they need it yet. Since ammo is plentiful I see no reason this form of friendly fire isn't acceptable in our fight for democracy. I forgot which weapon I had for a second and almost shot my teammate with my scorcher
A lot of people seem to think that if they added the ability to stim yourself with it then it'd finally be good, but tbh, I think adding some sorta tracking round akin to smart weapons from Cyberpunk would be far better. Being able to almost infinitely stim yourself would honestly make Helldivers trivial in every dive, but having the ability to help your teammates better manage stims for when they actually need them on the verge of death would make it far more useful.
Stim pistol benefits greatly from primaries/support weapons with the ability to destory fabs/bug holes because you kinda lose that capability when youre using the stim pistol instead of the grenade pistol
I would LOVVVEEEEE a friendly healing tracker on the end mission screen, even if u ain’t running the stim pistol it’d be cool to see how much u heals from hand stimming someone
Now hear me out, there's a medi class in this game in Roblox called A-888 and it's a super well done in my opinion. They have a stim spital as their special ability and it's fantastic because you can decide what the stims do. Something like that would make the stim pistol so much more relevant and fun
I actually like to snipe my team mates with the stim pistol most miss, some land but its so satisfying when you land it. Especially in those times in the bot front where they are pinned down with no stim

As a heavy armor user, I would actually love for the Devs to let us self stim. If anything the stamina refill would be wonderful for keeping up with my lighter teammates. Would happily throw out my secondary slot for free stamina.
if you ragdoll while drawing your stimstol out, make sure you still have it out when you get up. it resets the animation and you may still have your primary out and ready😂
Bubble shield may be annoying to deal with, but you would be amazed at how your teammates who bring ballistic shields can catch your stims with their slab of metal
I think they should go the Monster Hunter route and make the ally hitbox for stim shots enormous. Recover Ammo in MH has a about two meters wide, and I don't think it should be that big, it should be about 1-2 feet wide, so near-misses turn into hits.
7:44 it's the other way around. When the stim icon is flashing, it means they don't have stims and if it's solid red, they have one stim left. i know it's weird
I feel like the pistol should have a homing feature at close range but requires the teammate to be in the triangle (obviously). This lock-on range could be the same as the reach of the flamethrower.
Would not only love some extreme aim assist on the stim pistol, along side a massive velocity bump because moving teammates is tough to hit, but even a means of maybe using it when you’re out of stims to stim yourself, like if you’re out and hit the stim button you just blast yourself in the thigh My only issue with it besides that, is something you touched on. 9/10 times the instances where your team would need a rapid stim they’re already either stimming themselves or dead. Aside from the odd few times they’re lacking 1/20th hp. I honestly feel like they cant really fix that issue though, unless they opt to make us tankier which I personally feel would be a bad idea if taken to a degree where the stim pistol would truly be “meta” My only real use case for it so far is hypothetical. But I want to get a buddy on and him wear the flame resist armor, and i just pump him full of stims while he’s face taking bugs. But thats iffy considering all the damage he’d be subject to.
if it had a longer drop off or just acts as a dart gun like we have in the modern world it would be a lot more effective. and for me, I think it is useless in heavy combat if you are surrounded it would be better to assist them by killing the enemy instead of giving a slower regen. I do not run it for bugs, but for bots it is amazing since you can have long range engagements and can take care of chip damage, I specifically run the MG, Scorcher, Stim pistol, smoke grenade, and gas 110mm rockets and shield or resupply pack. most of my teammates take AT weapons so they take the heavy enemies from long range, and I stim and support until melee troops come in and the MG can take care of them. and for bots in long range fights you have enough time to hide and recover chip damage and save stims for real dangers. but I would not recommend it for bugs honestly, chip damage sure, but the bots and bugs are different, bugs you need to constantly move and it makes it harder for the stim pistol to land shots most of the time, so yeah if they got rid of the drop off then it would be viable imo. hopefully when the weapon customization comes, would love to play alchemist and makes some drug cocktails like increased healing with no stamina, or increased damage resistance or movement speed. and hell would be funny to get a sniper that can do the same but inject a gas like virus that causes them to rampage, like shoot a charger in a patrol and cause it to kill everything around it.. Biowarfare!
I really wish you can stim yourself with it. I wonder if there is a way to balance it tho. Maybe make stimming yourself have a long animation? Or because you are shooting yourself at point blank, deal some self damage when you shoot yourself?

Im a 150 Super Private. Every time someoen hits me and my rambo ass with a stim. I always call them out on coms and verbally thank them. XD Love that thing, even tho i can't aim it for shit XD
You can set yourself on fire with the flame thrower, or 1 tap yourself to the foot with the arc thrower, but they won’t let you shoot yourself with the one thing that’s productive. I want to believe it’s possible, but I guess not.
i really hope they don't let you heal yourself with it, that'd be way way too much self sustaining and ruin it's intended purpose, unless they significantly reduced how much ammo it has, i think it just needs a much faster travel time and consistent hitbox.
Yeah people mention the need for tracking. Or lock on for the stim pistol. But what I think it needs is a bigger more consistent hitbox. Because so far the stims must just go through people and do nothing. Also the projectile ain’t fast enough.
Yeah I've seen a couple of my stims just phase through teammates sometimes. Weapon projectile (be it travel time/bullet drop/hit registration) needs some attention.
I could accept the following as a change. + You can press the stim button to target yourself with the stim pistol. + Faster projectile speed and reduced bullet drop + Slightly faster healing. -stim supply reduced by 2
I think it would work well if you could stim yourself but it took like 5 to 10 seconds or something making it useless on yourself in combat but outside of combat you can heal that extra 20 percent missing health that you don’t want to waste a stim on but it would be difficult to implement without breaking lore
3 possible ways they could improve it: increase stim value to teammates (make it like 2 shots to do at least more of their health), self stim (make value way way lower so the only way to fully heal is using a whole ‘mag’), and increasing velocity. A stupid big fun idea could also be a lock on (like the lock on pistol from Titanfall 2). Maybe within a 10m distance, can lock onto teammates and is laser scan, so can’t miss unless it hits an obstacle or enemy.
Personally, I think they should NOT add self-stimming to the stim pistol. All that will do is encourage the selfish lone wolf types and meta slaves to carry that and just keep stimming themselves, hogging their shots and refusing to heal teammates that need the help. I do think they should up the projectile speed so it's easier to hit shots and stim teammates a little further away, and it would be cool if they at least add a brief confusion effect like that of the gas weapons to it so it's not a waste to hit enemies with it.
There would be an impact sound (just like getting shot by an automaton bullet), plus the sound of the stim heal. It would also show the white border, and if you have the experimental infusion booster in your squad it will be orange with their screen having higher saturation. Hope that helps.
The only changes ill do to the stim pistol is: -able to shoot yourself -increase the healing so only two shoots are enough for full health the scope/hitbox bug too, but its a bug fix not a balance change

Only a bot would even use the weapon over the grenade pistol or even the senator.. Plus with the armor passive that boost your own heals by a few seconds effectively negates the stim pistol its literally useless

They’ve confirmed it’s bugged in relation to hit registration. So hopefully a patch comes soon.
Just make it either Dagger-laser effect or an AOE plasma effect.

sometimes I just stim my teammates so we can just keep running and I just stim myself to keep up then refill with the supply pack

Shield backpack blocking the stim is a bummer, but makes perfect sense actually. Dang you hyper realism.

if you ragdoll while drawing your stimstol out, make sure you still have it out when you get up. it resets the animation and you may still have your primary out and ready😂

Bubble shield may be annoying to deal with, but you would be amazed at how your teammates who bring ballistic shields can catch your stims with their slab of metal

I think they should go the Monster Hunter route and make the ally hitbox for stim shots enormous. Recover Ammo in MH has a about two meters wide, and I don't think it should be that big, it should be about 1-2 feet wide, so near-misses turn into hits.
7:44 it's the other way around. When the stim icon is flashing, it means they don't have stims and if it's solid red, they have one stim left. i know it's weird
I feel like the pistol should have a homing feature at close range but requires the teammate to be in the triangle (obviously). This lock-on range could be the same as the reach of the flamethrower.
Would not only love some extreme aim assist on the stim pistol, along side a massive velocity bump because moving teammates is tough to hit, but even a means of maybe using it when you’re out of stims to stim yourself, like if you’re out and hit the stim button you just blast yourself in the thigh
My only issue with it besides that, is something you touched on. 9/10 times the instances where your team would need a rapid stim they’re already either stimming themselves or dead. Aside from the odd few times they’re lacking 1/20th hp.
I honestly feel like they cant really fix that issue though, unless they opt to make us tankier which I personally feel would be a bad idea if taken to a degree where the stim pistol would truly be “meta”
My only real use case for it so far is hypothetical. But I want to get a buddy on and him wear the flame resist armor, and i just pump him full of stims while he’s face taking bugs. But thats iffy considering all the damage he’d be subject to.
if it had a longer drop off or just acts as a dart gun like we have in the modern world it would be a lot more effective.
and for me, I think it is useless in heavy combat if you are surrounded it would be better to assist them by killing the enemy instead of giving a slower regen. I do not run it for bugs, but for bots it is amazing since you can have long range engagements and can take care of chip damage, I specifically run the MG, Scorcher, Stim pistol, smoke grenade, and gas 110mm rockets and shield or resupply pack. most of my teammates take AT weapons so they take the heavy enemies from long range, and I stim and support until melee troops come in and the MG can take care of them. and for bots in long range fights you have enough time to hide and recover chip damage and save stims for real dangers.
but I would not recommend it for bugs honestly, chip damage sure, but the bots and bugs are different, bugs you need to constantly move and it makes it harder for the stim pistol to land shots most of the time, so yeah if they got rid of the drop off then it would be viable imo.
hopefully when the weapon customization comes, would love to play alchemist and makes some drug cocktails like increased healing with no stamina, or increased damage resistance or movement speed.
and hell would be funny to get a sniper that can do the same but inject a gas like virus that causes them to rampage, like shoot a charger in a patrol and cause it to kill everything around it.. Biowarfare!

Maybe make stimming yourself have a long animation? Or because you are shooting yourself at point blank, deal some self damage when you shoot yourself?

Im a 150 Super Private. Every time someoen hits me and my rambo ass with a stim. I always call them out on coms and verbally thank them. XD Love that thing, even tho i can't aim it for shit XD
They really just need to add a weak homing effect to them, or better yet, just make the projectile contact radius absolutely massive.

You can set yourself on fire with the flame thrower, or 1 tap yourself to the foot with the arc thrower, but they won’t let you shoot yourself with the one thing that’s productive.
I want to believe it’s possible, but I guess not.
i really hope they don't let you heal yourself with it, that'd be way way too much self sustaining and ruin it's intended purpose, unless they significantly reduced how much ammo it has, i think it just needs a much faster travel time and consistent hitbox.

Yeah people mention the need for tracking. Or lock on for the stim pistol. But what I think it needs is a bigger more consistent hitbox. Because so far the stims must just go through people and do nothing. Also the projectile ain’t fast enough.

Yeah I've seen a couple of my stims just phase through teammates sometimes. Weapon projectile (be it travel time/bullet drop/hit registration) needs some attention.

+ Faster projectile speed and reduced bullet drop

Near supersonic speed is a backhanded way of saying they are subsonic rounds, ie not that fast for a bullet :)
I think it would work well if you could stim yourself but it took like 5 to 10 seconds or something making it useless on yourself in combat but outside of combat you can heal that extra 20 percent missing health that you don’t want to waste a stim on but it would be difficult to implement without breaking lore
instead of a needle , maybe a healing gas shot would work better for the "aim"

Not having a seconday weapon is too painful. Stim gun should dish out alittle damage at the very least.

3 possible ways they could improve it: increase stim value to teammates (make it like 2 shots to do at least more of their health), self stim (make value way way lower so the only way to fully heal is using a whole ‘mag’), and increasing velocity.
A stupid big fun idea could also be a lock on (like the lock on pistol from Titanfall 2). Maybe within a 10m distance, can lock onto teammates and is laser scan, so can’t miss unless it hits an obstacle or enemy.

Personally, I think they should NOT add self-stimming to the stim pistol. All that will do is encourage the selfish lone wolf types and meta slaves to carry that and just keep stimming themselves, hogging their shots and refusing to heal teammates that need the help. I do think they should up the projectile speed so it's easier to hit shots and stim teammates a little further away, and it would be cool if they at least add a brief confusion effect like that of the gas weapons to it so it's not a waste to hit enemies with it.
Real gamers pair the stim pistol with the ballistic shield. You become the ultimate creature of doing nothing at all.
How does ur teammate know you hit them with a stim?
There would be an impact sound (just like getting shot by an automaton bullet), plus the sound of the stim heal. It would also show the white border, and if you have the experimental infusion booster in your squad it will be orange with their screen having higher saturation. Hope that helps.

@@LeviMiller-t5s umm. DUHHH dude ofc its meant for heals. You cant heal yourself with it and it takes a few shots to heal your teammates to full health. Only a bot would even use the weapon over the grenade pistol or even the senator.. Plus with the armor passive that boost your own heals by a few seconds effectively negates the stim pistol its literally useless
