I have tried this "UPS will bring a label" shit. They NEVER do and it sits out on the porch for over a week and even when I catch them they act like a deer in headlights and say they know nothing about it and have no label. I end up having to drive 30 miles to a UPS facility to be told by the guy there that they hate Amazon and like its too much trouble for him as well. I have sent back three or four items since Amazon's existence and don't appreciate that at all.
That sounds very frustrating. You must be in an area where they might have a problem doing that. I would contact Amazon customer service, then to find out your best option other than that I would just wait until you have a few items to return and bring them to a drop-off facility that’s free and that they also will wrap and package at all for you, those places are UPS store Kohl’s things like that Whole Foods 😊👍🏼

I wish they let us drop it off at our local Amazon locker instead of these "hubs" . I have a local one within walking distance, but the hub costs me about $5 subway round trip fare. I'd like to avoid paying. But now I've gotta wait at home all day! Oh well...

I just bought a 15 gel pen set for $8. Their was only 1 5 star review. But it's a risk I'm willing to take... Just in case they're trash, then I'll return them 😂
I spent months looking for a nice jacket, found the perfect one but they sent me the wrong jacket. Ordered a replacement. The return process was easy for me. I chose UPS pickup on a Thursday and then the day after a guy from UPS came and took it from me. You just have to print off the barcode amazon gives you then put that inside the package, tape it up, then wait for a UPS guy to come. They should already come with a label, mine did. Much easier than going to UPS or Kohl’s myself. Hopefully they send the right thing this time though lol.

Thank you for making this visually demonstrated example that way we can fully see the process of how-to. Funny enough, i ordered LED strip lights myself, and I found out (after purchase and arrival) that they needed a "HUB", which unfortunately i do not own one that it requires and to be honest researching and figuring all of that out was making my brain blank out LOL! But i thought that these lights were able to be controlled by an app or remote without anything extra- which honestly the product DID NOT mention any of that UNTIL I had the boxes (I bought 2 also ) in hand and it said it on the side of the box. also the "wifi" connector or whatever, the box between the power cord and led strip itself, did NOT ,match the name of the product i bought and didnt have a square scanning code to be able to register the item to the app or HUB even if i COULD have what was necessary to get them going-soooo needless to say I am returning them. Quick question though- are you a more premium member of Amazon or something for the UPS to charge you nothing for pick ups? On my account it wants to charge me an amount for the pickup (like $25-30+!) also apparently they do not give an option for pick-ups at this time during COVID19 which is understandable but kind of makes for a "screw-it i'll just buy the HUB..but then how would i even register the item to it if i do spend another $100 for this damn thing" type of mood considering the closest UPS store is apox. 35 min away....ugh lord almighty this is the one complaint about buying online isn't it? especially now! You never TRULY know what you are getting and its almost a gamble even on Amazon and i hate it because my dad & I both love them...life can't be perfect always though now can it? lol I love how i've just sat here and had an entire conversation based off of a response lmao but- that's me! I type what i would say in person. Many people can't stand the "books" I write but I mean what's the purpose of half-assing it?! Why water yourself down for anyone!? I do have a prime membership so maybe the return process is a bit different but I am not sure if your experience will be different since you are not a prime member. I attached a link on the Amazon return process it doesn’t seem like they differentiate between prime members.

It always costs you if you want UPS to come pick it up at your house. That’s why return stores like TUPSS, Kohls and now Staples exists.

What if the post office delivered it instead of UPS?
Then your good, you won’t be charged and you get your money back
Just a correction in your choice of return reason.. You 'BOUGHT BY MISTAKE' is the reason for the return because you bought the wrong illumination, that's YOUR mistake, not that it was defective or didn't work, the items worked. You've made Amazon believe that the item doesn't work or is defective when it works perfectly fine but just not for you which was your 'personal mistake'.
Yeah I didn't like that he did that either. That means they're going to think the item is defective when it's in fact it's just not the item he thought it was.
So, I don't need to print out a label? I can just go to my local UPS and they'll just smack one on for me?

If you choose UPS pick up they will come to your house see the box or envelope that you left they will put their own label on it and leave you a receipt and take it away. 😊👍🏼

They expect the package to be outside where they can get it I do not think they will ring the doorbell. You can put a note out there or watch for them and hope you catch them. Good luck 👍🏼

Wonderful tutoring for something Amazon should post on their own app. Word of advice. UPS charged me a fee to print the label, so it is not “free”.

I bought a controller and I want to refund it. The controller came in a amazon bag and inside that bag was the box of the controller. I want ups to pick it up at my house. Do I need the amazon package that it came in or no?

When I try to return something, why do I get “return code?” I want to print the label, but I don’t get that option. I don’t get the same options as you, even though I follow the same process.

I think some items shipping is free and you don't need to package or label your item. You get a barcode so when you go to UPS they scan the code and they pack it for you!

If you want to print the label, you have to go to view and print. It’s going to open it from the Amazon app into your web browser if you’re on the phone and then you’ll have to login possibly and then you’ll have the option to actually print it from there. That’s the only way you can print it. 😊 👍🏼

You will need to box it up.

If you choose UPS pick up they will come the next business day anytime during the day so you don’t know what time it is you cannot schedule it 😊👍🏼

That's great... but I don't have a pickup in my city. I must send by mail...
They are charging for pick up now so I would bring it to a UPS store and they will package it for free and give you a label and everything. The only caveat is you’d have to be close enough to drive to one. I find it much easier. 😊👍🏼

Unfortunately if it already shipped you have to wait for it to arrive before you can return it. You can cancel if you’re within the time before shipping 😊👍🏼

@@kelisburks4025 you have to print the return info that they give you. Its like a long bar code (if i remember correctly) and put it in a box with the item you want to return. Then they schedule a day to come for the package. I just left mine outside and they grabbed it without telling me.

So what happens
UPS pick up will pick up at the same location they usually drop it off at so I put mine outside the door and they come get it and put a label on it they will not ring your bell or try to contact you they’ll just pick it up and leave 😊👍🏼

I'm in the process of doing this right now. And it seems pretty easy but what I was wondering was when I select the option for UPS pickup it says UPS will have a label for me. But it also said I had to print some labels out and it was email to me.. I'm confused
I know that is confusing but I assure you all you have to do is put the box outside and UPS will stick their own label on the box you do not have to do anything. Now sometimes I put a Post-it note that says UPS so that they know it’s for them and sometimes I print out the receipt of what’s in the box but you don’t need to do any of that all you have to do is put the box out there.

You do not need to meet the driver they know what to do and you do not need to be there 😊👍🏼
why don’t I have the UPS pickup option
When you choose defective or does not work and you go onto the next page you have to choose more options they don’t let you choose it by default but it’s there you just have to click more

But there should have been instructions to follow along with a tracking code you print out which should be put in your package. And then what? Do you tape it? Do you set it on your porch? Do you what your door like a hawk so you don't miss the driver? What happens from there, up to the moment the package is taken from your possession?
Just choose UPS pick up in the app and they will pick it up the next business day you can just leave it outside and they will bring a label and place it on the box and take it with you. I would make sure the box is of course sealed or the bag is sealed so they can put the label on it they will not package it for you 😊👍🏼

If it’s within the return. You should be allowed to return it if you say it is defective
What if it hasn't arrived yet, do I wait for it to come or return it now

Are usually do not print out the labels however sometimes I put one in the box and outside the box so that the UPS driver knows what’s in it if there’s multiple packages. In general if you’re only sending one package you don’t need to once they scan it they should know which one it is just be sure to put a note on there that the UPS driver knows that it’s his package to pick up 😊👍🏼

At 2:56 I need to you clarify what UPS Dropoff is. I work for a UPS Store and Im tired of Amazon customers coming in and complaining about why its not free. When customers select "UPS Dropoff" it means it will have to printout a UPS Ground shipping label which typically costs .12 cents to print the customer will also be charged a fee to put something around the item, which will be either a box or envelope. FIX THIS PLEASE
So when you take it to UPS/have it picked up by UPS, do you have to put the item into a shipping box? Or do you just give them the item and they pack it themselves and ship it?
When you choose UPS pick up all you have to do is seal it off in a box and they will bring a label and take it away from where you picked it up from

@FREEFIRE-fx3wb that’s a good question if you’re dropping off at a UPS store they never ask for proof they just scan the QR code and if you’re leaving in front of your house to be picked up, it’s a sealed box so they do not ask for and when you send it back they might check
It then at Amazon not sure though. It takes 48 hours for return on original card payment 😊👍🏼

@user-xf7ob5bw7o if you go to The UPS Store you do not need to put any label inside. They will actually package it for you so you just need to bring the device with you or whatever you returning. 😊👍🏼

The code isnt included anywhere in the product information. They give you the code after you confirm your return order...

In the US they’re starting to charge $7.99 to have UPS pick it up now so I would just drop it off at a UPS drop off location and you don’t have to package it they will do everything for you for free and give you a receipt

That’s strange, amazon usually leaves the package by the door, whether your home or not, sounds to me like it was stolen

Yes, that’s a little more complicated in that case. If you can print out the information of the package that’s in there and put it on top of the box or bag this way the UPS driver knows where to put the label he brings. If you don’t feel comfortable doing that then may be going to a UPS drop off location that’s free would be a good option.
How bout when return window had been closed? 😨
Unfortunately if the return window is closed you will not be able to return it so you will have to find a way to sell it or lose the money 😳
Is their a way in shipping where I could give it to the mail man and they could return it.

UPS will pick it up the next business day if you chose UPS pick up it looks to me like it got missed or they had a problem which does happen from time to time as it’s happened to me just contact Amazon customer service you can do it through the chat and they will take care of it and reschedule the pick up 😊👍🏼
