Bro this is the only DNC guide I’ve watched that wasn’t either overly technical, or conversely just reading the skill descriptions. Thank god I found this, should be the first thing that comes up on search for DNC guide. Gives all the info you need and good diagrams for showing rotation. Finally someone did it right. Ty homie.
I just got Dancer yesterday and literally watched your Shadowbringers tutorial last night before bed. This is amazing timing! Thanks so much for all the work you do in these videos and making Dancer seem much less intimidating than I thought it was!
Um excuse me, I'm a Dancer who does the Lali-Hop. No, but seriously, what a great vid about my main. Thanks for all of these guides! They've really helped me on the jobs I've struggled with, especially as I continue my grind to 90!
Greatly appreciate "In The Balance" as the background music for the Endwalker stuff. When I first heard it, I considered it a DNC's anthem, essentially. DNC is my favorite DPS, so it's also good to get a thorough explanation of the new Endwalker abilities, as I was worried if I was supposed to delay Tillana or use it right away. Thankfully, DNC is super forgiving so really it's just a matter of making sure I don't overwrite currently available procs from abilities.
One thing to mention with Technical Finish since it is the big one I have seen doing level 90 8 man stuff - It doesn't stack if there are 2 dancers at the same time so if there is another dancer get space your technical step by 20 seconds to get a 40 second buff for the whole party.
@@WeskAlber I'll never forget that one time in Puppet's Bunker where we were three dancers, perfectly adjusting for each other with no communication. If there hadn't been a log I would have sworn I dreamed it...
Your "this...to this" are just getting better and better. Also, incredible timing because I was just getting started leveling my Dancer literally today.
Eyyy, my Main gets a Guide. It's been a crazy ride mastering this class. From learning how to Double Weave/Pool your feathers to understanding that you can't double weave a Standard/Tech Step. Been using it for this tier of Savage as my first time doing it. Having a blast I honestly love this class, my only gripe is Improv because I can't use it too many times. I feel like it should have been a Step but instead we can choose to do 4 moves like a normal Tech Step but each one gives some HP restored rather than standstill for about 4 seconds to get the first proc.
Kinda late but I had a question on what you said about how you can't double weave a standard step. Can you clarify that at all? I'm leveling dnc and I can not for the life of me get the 70 opener perfect, because after I weave devilment, the next gcd ALWAYS clips! I'm not sure what if that has anything to do with what you're talking about.
A bit late but in addition to the comment made here about using Improv for the HoT, you can also double weave if you are quick and your ping isn't too high - this will give you both the HoT AND a shield worth 5% of your health
I picked up Dancer in PvP, i liked it so much that it got me to level 80 without touching any other content, now that im totally in love with this job i decided to take it for a spin in PvE, and Wesk is default go to place when you want to learn a job. Thank you for making it so easy to enjoy this game
I've only been playing for a year, and I always look for your videos to see the direction to take a class. That being said, I'm leveling machinist and warrior so I'm hoping one is next lol
Hey it’s my old main, I think it’s low skill floor is very good and friendly for new players along with the extremely high mobility, but I do miss how flourish worked in shadowbringers a lot, I loved having to think more about positioning, and having to plan procs so flourish wouldn’t overwrite them was a lot of fun and rewarded planning and understanding how to maximise your procs, now the skill ceiling is a lot lower and it feel just “push the glowy button” but I am happy for people who still really enjoy this job.
I am a bunny boy Dancer main (was a dwarf dancer main before endwalker.) haven't played since the 6.1 patch landed so going to use this to check the changes and to see if there is anything I missed.
I have to say these guides are hands down the BEST guides for new players or players taking on a new job (especially higher level jobs) Understanding the skills and how to use them makes playing easier and more enjoyable. Thank you so much for making these guides. I tell all new players to check out your channel.
i did NOT know Flourishing and Silken were two different skills!!! i always wondered why i would sometimes seemingly have two charges of the procced skills!
I'm super lazy and often just boost alt classes. Your guides have helps so much. A lot of other guides just explain the level 90 rotation and openers but you actually explain what each skill does level by level so it's super helpful!
DNC is so comfy for me, I love it. Just ZOOP around the battle field with your rocket powered heelies, poke the flashy buttons when they pop up, and keep shaking them hips until everything falls over dead. It's great.
I really like Dancer but I really dislike how Improvisation ends if you move. Your dancer can do the other two dance's dance moves while moving around yet the spinning of Improvisation is just too hard to move while performing it. I also dislike how the aoe's require you to be in melee range but that's just a slight annoyance. Also, I'm having trouble finding an outfit I like my character to wear while being dancer XD
Thanks for the guides! So, (to anyone who knows), if you can't get in the standard dance pre-pull, do you still do it, or just skip and go into tech step?
Oh, I've been leveling up this class, and I've been liking it. Feels more like an aggressive support that annoys a foe to death rather then a proper dps, and that's fine by me. That's what I often find myself playing in other team based games anyway.
Am I a flaming idiot? I'm not seeing specific things light up during the Standard Step phase. Like sometimes they have procs, but I'm watching you not hit the procs as they come up. What am I missing? Thanks for the video btw, your stuff is invaluable
My main for most of 6.x now, i do wish they would double down on support classes, being lowest dps is fine but i want more buffs for party, buffs and such in FF14 vs say wow are very few and far between, id like to have constant utlity and pre pull buffs like other mmos but thats just not the style. Also Improv needs a rework, its so pointless

Do the buffs apply differently? I assumed it'd be better to do 4 steps prepull instead of 2 since the 4 steps postpull will delay your next attack slightly. Is it just because you try to fit another standard step in the opening buff window (if you got the countdown)? Or is it something to do with how the damage buffs stack? Also, it sounds like the 90 opener has 2 proc based ogcd abilities double weaved (maybe I misunderstood this part)? This sounds really difficult to pull off if you have any amount of latency. Is it better in that case to delay one ogcd until after the next gcd or to use both even if it causes you to clip the next gcd?
Because you'd be wasting Technical if you opened with it. You wouldn't be buffing with Standard step, and you would waste half the duration while everyone is building up to their openers. It would be less damage because you buff less. Yes, you double weave where you can. If you clip, yes multi GCD
