I was so happy when I saw the new vlog was up!!! The flowers are beautiful and I really can't wait to see when the wildflowers start to bloom!!!! I am very happy for you getting your learners permit, that is a great accomplishment. The kayak ride looked so fun........I know that water had to be so cold, but so worth it to be enjoying time with friends and family on the river.

Congratulations on getting you driving permit! Wonderful to see the flowers coming up! Nothing like seeing new life from the earth in Spring! The cactus blooms were stunning I enjoyed watching them opening! We've had similar weather here but it can get much hotter in our summer. Lows to mid 40's is not uncommon in July and August. The river kayaking looks like so much fun! Have a great week!
wow, when it reaches close to 30 around here we end up leaving the garden work until it's cooler, which is nice :)
@@gisellewaldner9406 Lol, 30's are considered nice temps in the summer here. It's a trade off though, the record low here is around -9c. We don't see it that cold very often. We would really have a tough time with the winters you see there. :)

agreed, we are not quite done yet and although the rain was nice, we are hoping that we will soon be done with getting in the crop.

Congratulations on receiving your license. I too, enjoy the mints. It looks as thought you picked up some dusty miller and some heuchera (coral bells) as well. Sunflowers are one of my favorites too and the seeds make a lovely nut butter that subs for peanut butter (I'm allergic to peanuts). The cactus is amazing. You are blessed to be on a colony with such wonderful greenhouse resources. God bless you and yours. Hugs to Kona!
those were my moms picks so I don't really know what it was, except for the dusty miller, I have my bulbs in raised beds, pots and only one in my moms garden :)

we have planted quite a lot already but during the week when I was recovering from having my wisdom teeth removed so I didn't get any footage, but there is still a lot of other stuff to come. we give Kona one of those tick pills for dogs and it's such a life saver especially since we have so many wood ticks around here. 🙂

I'm so happy for you in getting your permit! Driving is a skill you can always use if it is necessary. Even if it isn't used often in daily life.
My grandson is reluctant as you were. He has his permit but still needs Driver's Education to get his license in Vermont. It's not a high interest but he will get it eventually.
I love to see the blossoming plants inside and out. Such a season of new growth!

You will not believe (well maybe) but I had a memory blast today about how many times it took me to pass the driver test--because I failed 3 times. The written part I passed first time but actual driving--that was the challenge. And it was because I had driven as a 15-16 year old so much that I went into it with overconfidence--not going through all the road rules carefully. Once again, I loved the music to the time-lapsed growing flower--ethereal--impeccable. Just wow!!
Congratulations on your passing your drivers test. Thankyou for sharing your life on your colony. Im just about convinced life is easier on a colony when your growing your food and have so many things provided. Its a blessing. I really enjoyed this one.

agreed we never know when we might need it, you know I saw on instagram that some people dunk their cactus under water, they really drench them when watering and since I have started doing it I have been getting blooms :)

Thanks for another great vlog. I was wondering if you might do an episode on Hutterite wardrobes. How many dresses does the average woman have? Are there any restrictions on fabrics? Could you make a dress from metallic gold fabric, for example? and do the blouses always have to be white? Could you have a long-sleeved blouse? Does the weight of the fabric change from season to season? For example, do you use heavier fabrics in winter? What about shoes? are their guidelines for those? and jackets? sweaters, etc?
Everyone uses the same pattern, so are you ever surprised to see someone in an identical dress because they unknowingly chose the same fabric that you did? How would you react?
Anyway, I am just curious about how wardrobe matters are handled, so I thought that others might be as well.

We also call it a learners in SK. I had my learners from the time I was 16 (I had an awful drivers ed teacher), but I didn't get my licence until I was 22 or 23. I hate driving but I am glad I have it now even though I don't drive often.

Oh my goodness. The Independence you have now. If you need to go to the city, you can go without waiting for brothers, or Dad. Although, road trips with family or Community are awesome 😊

Hi Giselle! Great vlog! Can you share the recipe for your fiber snack balls please? 😃
A test question: You are at a turning circle. 5 streets intersect the turning circle. There are several autos in each lane. You are in lane 2, but the person in lane 4 turned to the right first. When you got to the stop sign. Who goes next in this case? 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. Where are you in turning order? Something neat about your age nearing 30 you are beginning to fall into an androgynous work zone, like running farm machines. This should keep you away from butchering animals and fowl.
FYI I only got a 75 on the written test but a 95 on my driving test. My mom finally got her license the same day; her written test was 95, and her driving tests were 75. Mom is 27 years older than me, and we have always been opposites.

All young people should be strongly encouraged to get their drivers license. You never know when you need to get out of an emergency situation or to get help.
