I’ve heard people say slugging with Tret under can cause more irritation? But slugging on off nights is usually always good :)
I personally haven''t experienced irritation from slugging with Tretinoin but of course we are all different and that is always a possibility!

I’m turning 39 this Sunday!!! Started my skincare journey when COVID hit in 2020. I got some tretinoin through my PCP because wearing a mask for 12hr shifts (I’m a nurse) with all the protective equipment gave me the worse acne of my life. At the time I didn’t know much about it’s anti-aging benefits until I got into watching skincare content on RUclips. So I’ve been on it for almost 4 years now but I can’t seem to be able to go up the strength. My skin is fine with 0.025 but when I try my 0.05 tube my skin freaks out!! It’s getting little annoyed because I want those long term effects but can’t seem to fully get there. I will be trying some of those tips and tricks in the next few weeks cause eventually I want to be on 0.1 for a lifetime. If not I might be just the lowest strength kind of girl hmm Thanks for all your advice

It’s always fascinating to me how well 0.05% works perfectly for people. I used it for a year and made no difference to my skin. So I had to ask a lab, through a dermatologist, to make a higher percentage for me. It’s the only way you can get a higher percentage in South Africa ❤
Thanks for the tips!! I am restarting my tretinoin through Curology. I had to stop this summer due to such chapped, dry, itchy skin. Think I’ll try a few of the products you mentioned too. Nice job!!😊

The only side effect I deal with is skin peeling a couple days later. I know it's an exfoliant, but this is soo annoying. the dead skin just balls up when I apply any skincare and looks like a hot mess. I only use Tret 2x a week now but it's still an issue, ugh.
I know that is the only down fall with using Tretinoin. I still experience this and try to make sure the flakey skin is removed before applying sunscreen and makeup. Sometimes I forget and my tinted sunscreen and/or makeup look awful☹️

I have got a few of The Ordinary products, and I use them in my regimen routine morning and evening.
In the morning, I put Lactic Acid, Vitamin C, Moisturizer, and SPF.
I tried to add Hyaluronic Acid, but it made my skin peeling. Can I add it in my morning routine?

Thank you for your informative video. I’m happy to learn I’m not the only one who can’t use tretinoin every night and that there are things that can help with the flakiness. A make up video would be helpful , because as it stands now, I don’t dare try to use any foundation if I’ve used tretinoin the last few days.
I will definitely film a video on how to wear makeup for those flakey skin days. I struggle with this but sometimes I can master it and have a good makeup day lol🤪
I’m 34 and I started I’m on 0.01 and i use it for the same reasons post acne marks and acne for the most part the acne marks are faded and less noticeable this is year 2 for me
Hi Miss Ash, what would be comparable to Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist? I love this product by NIOD but it is so expensive. Is there an alternative?
Hey!! I truly haven't found a dupe yet to the NIOD mist. It really is one of a kind but Glow Recipe came out with a new Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner which also contains antioxidants but of course it's still very different.
I put all my skincare on then like hours later put on my tretnoin with nothing on top I feel like it’s kinda hydrating I have the .05 Tretnoin it is kinda tricky in Winter my DE Protini lactic acid makes me peel then I can’t use my tret for a few days after I’m def using it way less like every 2 weeks now tret more important lol but wow it’s so nice!!!! I love the Protini moisturizer too use every night before tret
I’ve yet to find a moisturizer that really hydrates my skin while using tret I’ll check out the Avenue cream. I got a horrible rash after trying the ordinary amino acid b5 serum, then got a burn from a glycolic acid peel so I’m taking a break and trying to repair my barrier
Aw that is too bad the Amino Acids didn't work for you. Get that skin barrier repair before introducing actives again😊
How do we remove make up effectively? Will an oil cleanser and a creamy cleanser like cerave hydrating cleanser remove everything?
Using a cleansing balm or a cleansing oil are great options to remove makeup and sunscreen as that first cleanse. The Cerave Hydrating Cleanser is nice for that second cleanse (after makeup has been removed) You can try and use it as the first cleanse but you may notice it won't remove makeup too well. Cerave has a makeup remover or you can use the Byoma Cleansing Balm or Versed Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm.

Re slugging - I don’t think it’s recommended to put occlusives on top of tretinoin. It will further irritate your skin.
It may not be for everyone but I don't see any additional irritation from apply it on top of my Tret or the moisturizer that is on top of my tret.
