    i would like to know how you managed to bring out that grain pattern that id usually expect from wrought iron or wootz steel, but you got out of a ordinary hammer

    Wow! That scythe turned out awesome! Was this hammer made from folded steel? Where does this wicked pattern come from?
    Also, can you tell us your clay mixture for quenching the blades? It is interesting how the clay changes color from black to white.

      The clay made the rest of the scythe softer then the blade by blocking the heat that’s what gives it the pattern, it’s the same process they use to make the pattern on katanas it’s called differential hardening, it’s pretty interesting stuff I recommend you look it up.

      @@carlosrandazzocarrie4834 the comment is not about the hamon, but the hada. That has nothing to do with the clay, it's usually the result of steel being folded. I wonder what kind of steel the hammer was made of.

    柄を長くしたら丸太を操作する時のカギ棒として役にたちそう。
    積み上げる時、外側の木材にくさび入れて固めるのにもハンマー使えるし

    How is the weight distribution with the full amount of metal on the heavier side of the hammer? Wouldn't it had made more sense to cut off some of that heavier side?

    Félicitations! Iit looks like a medieval war hammer called "Bec de corbin" ("Raven's beak" in French).
