Shaking hand usually means an agreement, and a knife is sometime used to stab people in the back. I think you're already understand it.

More of an art piece than a joke knife.
While unconventionally designed, he did factor in the high tang stress and changed the length accordingly..
Though how this was assembled, it will undoubtedly suffer from the knife coming loose with moderate use and will probably disconnect entirely if it's stabbed into wood.

Beautiful work! I am in a similar field so I understand the labor that it took to make this. However, I would like to offer two criticism/suggestions. Firstly, I really do like the end result of the hand carve - wonderful work really. I just wish you would have gone just a tad further with the details (ex: wrinkles, veins, nails, etc.).The carving felt just a tiny bit unfinished. Secondly, I would love to see this go into the end a walking stick, sculpture, door knocker...IDK. It deserves a clever sheath.
The scabbard should be the rest of a forearm, and the weapon could be called "The Contract"
Once drawn it must be used to kill before it will let go of your hand and allow you to sheathe it.

This wood is brown immediately after it is cut, but gradually turns purple in the sunlight.

Wow!! Amazing work! I love the attention to detail! I loved that blade in the anime, so I'm amazed you replicated it so well! I imagine that being left-handed would be a problem for anyone wielding it though. xD

I have never seen such a knife. The entire video shows, to me, a high level of skill, talent and patience went into the making of this knife.
When I saw the handle, I thought there would be no way, that knife could be used for anything other than as a decorative piece. Then, upon completion of the knife, I saw I was wrong again. You didn't seem to have any problem using your blade.
