- This tropical botanical collection is already exploding with production, in only 7 years after planting this impressive food forest! Meet Paul Zink, of Finca Madre, in Alajuela, Costa Rica where he is now producing up to 430 different edible species. We get to take you along on a trek through this mountainside landscape to check out what's ripening about this time (filmed April 2018.)
We captured so many highlights at this top notch farm that we had to split it into 2 parts. Be sure to see Paul's harvest for market, along with some other clips that will leave you with new advice & inspiration. We hope you are subscribed to our channel so you can stay up to date as soon as our latest videos are released.
Paul runs a one-of-a-kind AirBnb experience called the 'IncrEdible Secret Garden', which is so much more than a garden visit. He offers a 3 hour experience of rare fruits, snacks & drinks which all come from the land. You get to harvest some of it for yourself as well!

This is exactly how I wanna live my life. Big land and plant nothing but exotic fruit trees and some chickens for eggs. You're so lucky
Sell your house in the states and move to south America where land is dirt cheap and only a flight away from your old friends and family :)
I have regular size garden, something like 300 Square meters, where I planted 62 tropical fruit trees. You don't need too much of anything really, to be happy.
i hope you made it happen bro
@@alexandertabor1215 living here in San Diego seemed impossible 😩😔 . Hope you're living your best life🙏🤙🍻
This man literally doesn’t live in the world! He lives on earth ! Inspired to start growing my own garden !
Jeremiah Johnson thats awesome man people where made to feed there selves. There’s Nothing like growing raising and hunting your own food. Nothing is more natural.
That’s awesome Jeremiah! Wishing you luck with that food forest 👊
@lea H yup!! Check the end of my most recent video, it’s so much growing currently 🙌🏽
Honestly, there is something I can’t explain that drowns me to the jungle and watching this video just makes me to feel like I should just walk right into it. This is very lovely and thanks for sharing
i love how he eats all the fruits in front of them and hear them begging for a taste
Haha damn pain
Jew haha
I was thinking the exact same thing. Like he already knows what it tastes like, lol
insensitive fellow
Haaa 😂 weird little frightening also
*It's like a private botanical garden.*
He will sell a lot of fruit, when the trees grow big.
Thx. for creating more natural and sustainable spaces on our planet !
Pretty much! Paul’s place is next level
Videos like this make me question every decision i've made in my life. Such a beautiful place and as a "plant nerd" this food forest is amazing.
🙌
I come to these videos and I realize that I'm living the wrong life haha.
I hope that you are not a colonist like these 4.

Proud of our son Paul Zink. Can’t wait to come home to Finca Madre! The waterfall is calling, the crazy delicious fruits, veggies, peace, and the warmth of my Costa Rica family and friends. 🥰💗
Janet Morgan l can see why you’re so proud! They’re both doing some amazing work. The farm and waterfalls are amazing too 😉
Does he eat meat though ? Seems he could go vegan legit unlike people who rely on grocery stores. But i except he still eats meat.
Sounds like someone should move to Costa Rica... :)
aweee this was cute ^^
Seems like y’all raised him right!
I come back to watch this video because it completely takes me out of my mind when I’m stressed in the constant sinking ship of a society human beings have created. At the very core of my heart I just want to be in nature eating fruit and working out. The music behind these videos and energy you all give is art 🖤✨🌱
Love it man! 🙏
same! reminds me of what true success looks like (the kind society doesn't want to acknowledge is possible). We'll get there one day!
I retire from the military in a year! Watching these videos just gave me a whole new meaning of what I will be doing during retirement on my land in Florida! Thank you guys!
Yes!!! Awesome man 👊
I choose hilly landscape with a forest hillside and a water over flat farmland ANY day of the week. This is the BEST property out of all the ones you have been to in Costa Rica. An absolute paradise. What a lucky dude to own this slice of heaven.
Phangz 83 definitely an epic and unique pice of land! Paul is doing amazing work here and globally:)
😳❤️👍🏼
I have no idea how many times I have watched this video but I am addicted of watching Paul and of course Pete. But my fav garden is Paul's BY FAR! He is like a human elf, sleeping in trees and using plants for all sort of things and Pete really interested and amazed as well... both extra sweet and interesting!!!! Thank you RUclips for opening way to this kind of videos and people who are delicious to watch and listen!
Wow! Thanks so much for the kind words. We are just two guys doing what we love ❤️
We need people that love EARTH like YOU.
This is amazing !!!!!!! may his forest continue to flourish beautifully
What’s so nice is that it all looks so natural. Love the fertility and natural composting and mulching by leaving things to nature. Well done.
Oh It looks like our place when I was a child ...when my father was still alive..We have lots of fruit tress and also bamboos, ..and seeing your place makes me teary eyed with joy...how I miss my childhood days..loved your video..Thank you for sharing..
Awesome! You must have had an amazing childhood 🙌
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL Indeed:) Ill be waiting for your part 2 Video.. So excited 😃

Will check it out after my kids School..Yey..More power to your Channel..more subs and Views
The reaction of the team tasting the cavier fruit had me wanting to taste! The smile and appreciation on the faces! Awesome!
I have one and while it's interesting, it's not anything I would buy now that I'm familiar with it. It tastes acidic like lime, distinctly of citrus with a slight bitterness, the distinction being that the individual juice vesicles are thick walled and not connected to the others. I'm guessing their reaction was for the camera more than for the flavor.
Great video, I'm from Jamaica and it's great to know that you know so much about our country. Ackee is an awesome fruit we normally pair it with cod fish, chicken, mackerel. Real tasty
Thanks man! I wanna visit Jamaica one day.
What a paradise 👍
With that waterfall he could make a trompe. And meet all his power and refrigeration needs. Full circle permaculture.
The waterfall is gorgeous. This fruit forest is heavenly.
He is a rich man having that kind of a simple life, now everyone jealous.😱
Because he can afford to live with less. Most people cant do that. Ever heard the saying “Its more expensive to be poor”
I was doing slow burn as I watch this guy not offer a piece of fruit to each one of the guys to try it. Instead once or twice he offer them the one piece he had already slobber. What a miser!!
He is living the dream. A tropical food forest paradise, right in the yard! Thanks for sharing Pete, great channel brother.
Paul is the man! Thank you 🙏
wow i'd pay to visit this dude, i've never seen so many of my childhood foods in the same place still on the trees
Paul’s site is epic! He does have offer an Airbnb experience if you visit Costa Rica 😉
I'm feeling love, respect and jealousy at the same time for this gentleman.
Thanks a lot to you and your team.
Always love watching your videos.
Thanks! 😊
He's living my dream life. Best wishes in all that u do

Thanks for the stroll, I feel more alive just looking at these videos. Will love to have my own paradise like this one day.
Omg.. this is like a dream of mine, being a fruit lover 😩😍
Its inspiring the difference one person can make, geeking out on botany!
My kind of geeking out! 🤓
The waterfall would inspire me to make a little pool so I could dip myself after a long day of work.🥰🥰🥰.
I watched this is absolute amazement last night. This is straight out of my most lush dreams
Seriously! Paul’s place is amazing 🙌
Pilipino coconut wow lots of fruits, my favorite jackfruit

@@PaulZink1 Paul, your place is nuts! This is a video I'm probably going to watch 50 times, right up there with the Zaytuna farm tour.
Funny story, we look somewhat similar, and when my wife saw you up in that tree she said "oh look, it's your twin". I'm always up in my trees.
This guy is incredibly inspiring.
great, wonderful, I hope you make more special experience with your jungle
Wow!!!! And that waterfall and spring !
Carmelo Santini seriously never disappointing in CR!

GORGEOUS. I especially love the bamboo pipe gardens and aerial shots.

"I like to walk around barefoot, man, so like, I don't plant anything with spines, man."
Gives tour in shoes
yes this was a mindphuq
don't want a clumsy cameraman stepping on your bare feet lol I'll go barefoot alone but not around other people, ouch.
Indeed. And the comment about going barefoot alone but not with other people around..... you have NOT walked bare feet enough mate. No one EVER stepped on my feet. Bare or not. You are not from a real bare feet world for SURE
I might move slower too, but it is mostly depending if the terrain is known or not. I would be faster barefoot than my city grown nephew at my home island. When walking/climbing uphill paths i have a better feel of the surface barefeet. No slipping on loose gravel, no slipping on steep rocks. I just can not imagine how anybody would step on my feet. Fast walkers or slow walkers.....
this came up exactly as this line came across, wow....
Hi Paul and Pete! I wanted to let you know, that especially this video anchored my vision to start my own food forest, about 2 years ago, when I first stumbled acros this topic during lockdowns. During the last week I startet with the first plantings of my future 1ha food forest in the "mediterranean" part of Switzerland! Thank you both for the inspiration!
Much love, Paul

You have a good place with a lot of fruit bearing plants, mine is still on the process of growing and it’s only in our back yard
So nice to have tropical fruits in your backyard..
Most of them just grow in my backyard back in my home and im wasting my life here in America. Oh my god.
I'm totally in love with that mature ackee tree
You have so many fruits that are known to us Filipino. The green sour fruit is we call it Kamias, the star apple we call it Kaimito. I think you also have the Kalamansi, a tiny green citrus.
Hey I'm from Costa Rica thank you guys for coming to my country and doing these lovely videos, that actually inspired me to do something just like it.

What's the name of that fruit that was used by the iIncas because it is high in omega 3 and 6 in the video at 7:56...I'm trying to look it up online how exactly is it spelt....sachienchi?
Edit. I googled Inca Peanut and found the name Sacha Inchi and the scientific name Plukenetia volubilis. I'm so getting these on my farm in South America. Looking forward to new videos...new subscriber here 😁
diggin that chillhop playing in the back, essential. Fruits and chillhop, no better life.

Just remember my childhood in the remote area of Mindanao. When we felt hungry and need to have snacks, we just climbed up the mountain to find some wild fruits like; wild jack fruit, wild Rambo tan, wild lansones, wild bananas, wild Cherries, marang, etc. And all are organic
Same here. I never knew what I had until I came to America and paid through the teeth for some force ripened fruit
