I've gotta say Joe, this is my first season of Get In The Trunk, my first time seeing Delta Green in general, and I have NEVER been this affected by a Cosmic Horror game. It's making me think of this content that I've consumed a LOT of in terms that I've never considered before, and it is honestly the best example of slow-burn horror that I've ever seen. And it's so good how y'all balance the comedy with the horror, just when things get a little too tense, it get's broken up by a DIFFERENT type of absurdity. So good, I HAVE to watch all the other seasons.
Completely agree, been reading the house of leaves Book they recommended at the start of the season and it’s the exact same vibe. Never been this horrified on an existential level by media like this
I feel the same way! Horror has never really affected me like that but with this podcast, I can’t listen to it after a certain time of night or it freaks me out! Joes an insane GM
This was the episode where I figured out why I love Sydney so much: First, she's just a helluva great actor with a naturally expressive voice that's nice to listen to, and second--and more importantly--she has, to my mind, the exact right sense of humor: awake to the absurdities of what's going on, but never too silly. If you paired Roger Cumstone with someone who would "yes and" his craziness, you'd go off the rails too far. But having someone sensible like Syd sort of sitting on Roger's character (coupled with the pressure from Joe, who also clearly has a shenanigans limit) means that there's always amusing tension with Roger instead of it being the Roger Cumstone show. She has MY sense of humor. I want Syd in everything.

I think Francis has that issue, where he goes with Roger's ideas and is causing additional harm as well as hurting his character (which is a fine character arc, but I wonder if it would have happened without Roger).
Matthew is also an excellent pairing with Troy, if you haven't listened to the early Delta Green podcasts. That same brand of droll that makes him an excellent foil for GM Troy blends really well when they're both players.

No one is ever gonna see this because im so late to the party but ive been binging this and my god is it good. Great story and tension. Joe is an incredible gm and troy and skid are hysterical. Sydney is great too and francis plays it so straight that when it does have a joke its so unexpected that it cracks me up. So so good!
Thanks!
At 50:53 Joe scratches Syd's head for her and it's really sweet!
LOL that is awesome timing
😂
💀💀💀
🤣🤣🤣
1: Love them all
2: Syd is shockingly good at bringing realistic character details into ad-lib.
3: Holy s**t! Francis has a million dollar smile.
4: Joe is also bringing a hard ‘A’ game to playing NPCs in this show.
5: As previously stated- love them all- but I second the ‘please come back, Grant!’ In any capacity- we miss you!
With the new camera, you can really see Francis’ smile so well… it was blinding
@@alexanderpimentel6178 I second loving seeing Francis smile and laugh
Brock Lesnar sized Roger flirting with tiny firecracker Vicki is so crazy
I’ve never been a big shipper but I’m here for this pair
Joes SADISTIC GLEE at f-ing with everyone schedules LOL
It's some weird Type-A cosmic horror thing.
Almost fell off my chair laughing. One of the best actual plays I’ve ever seen.
The look on Joe's face when he tells Troy that his character is late for work !...
Nice narrative cuing to Bobby/Francis from Joe--challenging him to elaborate. (Something I don't do enough of.)
There is a town in Minnesota where somebody built a homemade waterpark so the neighborhood kids could play in it. This was back in the 1910 1920s when everyone was experiencing new religions.. turns out this guy was practicing one of them and the concept was the kids playing in the water would impart youthful energy for him to bathe in later. It caused a hubbub
I think when Vicky first saw Messiah heading into the library a sanity check would have been justified. (Probably not that many folks who remember the Field Manual of the Theron Marks Society, but a favorite memory was a quote from a shotgun wielding investigator named Frank Glup: "You check the libraries. I'll check the speakeasies."
'There wasn't a quarter there' - got a spit take on me Joe!
The date for pizza was originally 10am, but Vicki changed it to later I believe 5pm
I thought it was open-ended evening.
I love when I get to hear Joe or Skid LOSING IT when someone lands a good joke.
As an architect I can very much relate to the title of “architecture, genius and mental illness”
The Roger Moore School of Flirting 101
I almost pulled a Joe...I had a mouth full of cereal when Troy dropped Roger's middle name and nearly spit it out 😂
Also- in the mid 90’s post traumatic counseling for police/military personnel was… very thin. Mostly it was voluntary- as in ‘who wants to sign up to see the shrink and get black listed for being a coward’ type of after action counseling.
I hate that they've got me shipping Roger and Vicki now. I don't even want them to date. Just a really regretful one night encounter would be perfect.
2022 and we are getting a Rodger Moore reference, I love it!
The streets are paved with quarters.
Inflation, man.
25:14 for a second I thought Troy was gonna say Roger was the size of Brock Samson.
I love these videos so much. Roger Cumstone kills me. Every episode I’m watching this with a stupid grin on my face. 😂
Thanks!
"I wanted the fans to love me!"
Lol, I think hating Sydney is a crime.
Again Thank you Joe and All. Another excellent episode. Entertaining and hilarious. Such Good work all around. And I find the backrooms intriguing.
CRAPS!! Don't do one-time bets, use place bets, hit one or two, then turn them off or take them down. Rinse repeat. Best thing about craps is you always know the odds.
Now that we have Roger Moore Cumstone, when are we getting Bobby Fischer Walford?
Excuse me but my favorite Bond is actually Roger Moore. He just happens to be the first Bond I ever saw.
The name of this episode is clever!
Roger is basically an over the top Reacher.
Also got to say I get the bond mechanic, but it makes me rather uncomfortable as a concept
Love this series
Great playthrough, but got to mention we did have mobile phones in the mid 90s. I did 😉. That said - it seems like an eon ago.
So glad you enjoyed it, and yeah 1995 seems like forever ago!!
This show is so great. It's my favorite actual play I've listened to.
Thanks!
I don't like football or, by extension, fantasy football, but I would play a fantasy football TTRPG where you generate teams and simulate games. Like Blood Bowl, but without miniatures.
There’s a video game version of Bloodbowl!
3:50 Row-ger Cumstone
As a Craps Dealer in the RL, I'm curious which crazy strategy Troy has decided to go for.
Troy here. Okay. It's hardly a strategy, but more of a way I've been playing lately that's been fun - and that's to try and establish three point numbers (pass, come, come) and always have a nickel on each of the four hard ways. Your thoughts?
@@TheGlassCannon interesting idea.
Hmmm, can't call this a metagame convo, but it's tempting. So, I'll go with exogame chat. ; p
Kane Pixel is the creator of the Modern Backrooms based on the old Backrooms if anyone was confused, found footage mysteries are really interesting to watch while working on stuff like writing, very inspirational
I find it funny, that Roger is such a strange character but at the same time, I've known some military family kids who were very similar and he would likely get along with perfectly.
I think it is the whole growing up on a military base thing that gives them a different perspective and culture on what is okay for casual conversation or not in most of society.
Either way, good people, great friends, but never want to be on their bad side.
Loved the Tony! Toni! Toné! reference from troy
Somebody has to make this into a movie (Muranau or whoever, I don't care 😉).
I would totally watch it and be genuinely scared shitless by a movie for the first time since Blair Witch Project 😆
Vicki and Roger hook up, let's go!
ah fuck I got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and the laughing hurts
Roger and Vicki would make a terrible couple but here they are making me believe in it lmao. This season has been fantastic
This series is amazing, but saddly from the netherlands ive had troubles signing up for glass cannon.
This session was so off the rails XD nice resolution at the end tho ;)
Man the chills!
I was a fan of Vicki/Christopher, but after this episode, I'm Team Vicki/Roger all the way xD
When they enter that lounge gives me huge theShining wibes
Another fine episode with Vicky & Roger being gently prodded by Joe while Murno and Messiah lead the team to ?????.....
Do you mean Makeshift? Messiah is Roger.
@@JessiNaka That's right Makeshift....Joe has got me confused as well...lol
hell yeah here we go again!
What the hello is Wendell Sailor doing playing for Glass Cannon??!
He used to play D&D with Gordon Tallis. That was his intro.
He tried out Magic the Gathering with Billy Moore but never really got into it.
After this episode, I ship Cumstone/Ricci. They're pretty cute together.
Is it just me or just a lot of sexual tension between Vicky and Roger?
Just you wait.
Roger can do better than Vickie.
Grant come back......
