actually poverty there is not extreme.. Many beggars from different places come to religious places for begging... and found around the ares of temples bcoz there will be more tourists present in such places...
True. It is HORRIBLE. All of these professional beggars are either from Bangladesh or they are Rohingya muslim refugees. They are destroying India as we know it and there is nothing govt. is doing about this. All of them come into Hindu religious places and ruin it. We are too soft and too nice for our own good. When will the Hindus grow a spine.
It is true. Nitish is quite right about all this most of the beggars tried to settled near by to holy places where they can easily beg for the sake of God. Even people offer food like langar etc where they can get their Meals etc. Further more in video you we donating 100 rs to each beggar offer 10-20 rupees to each beggar. In this way you can cover more beggars.
India is, without any exaggeration or being biased one of the most diverse and culturally rich country. It's like a big festival always going on in the streets everywhere...I think even the whole life would not be enough to enjoy this amazing place...
India is not just a country, its a whole spectrum of spirituality and emotions. India is not a poor country, its just a country whoch believes in keeping things simple.
I came to this special place in 1997, when i was only 7 years old with my mother. She sold the few things we had and left Sweden to go on a soul searching journey to India. Quite a special start in life for me - as wild and daring as it was. Always holds a very special place in my heart... so many emotions! Thank you for sharing 🧡
When I was first blessed to visit India back in 1999 I met many travellers with interesting stories of always wanting to go to India. Your mother sounds like an awesome lady. Namaste❤❤

First trip to India. November 1986. After landing in Delhi, my first destination was Hardwar and shortly after, Rishikesh. That initial experience struck me so deeply (and sweetly) that since then I have returned to India around 40 times. I will be there again in January.
About your reflections in Haridwar: I was walking in Dhaka and entered into a meditative state. There were people and noise all around me. Cars, rickshaws, shops, the very poor, beggars, the middle class, people buying and selling, working and not doing anything, and I started to think of Shiva very deeply, dancing creation and destruction, birth and death, joy and suffering, life and death. Somehow it was all in the hands of God. It was a powerful feeling. I'm not a Hindu, nor do I know much about the Hindu religion and its spirituality. This feeling arose spontaneously.
Yes I've been to Rishikesh. One of my favourite places in India. The air, the people, the lifestyle, the yoga, the Himalayas. Can't be beat. I rented a motorcycle and traveled in and out through the mountains, took cold plunges in the holy Ganga. A beautiful way to live. Thank you for the memories my friend. I need to go back soon. 🙏
I was in Rishikesh in 2019 for yoga teaching certification. The people are so friendly and the vibe is very peaceful. Agree that the spiritual energy is so strong and beautiful.

A fact: Ganga originates from Himalayas and by the time it reaches on the plains, the water is mixed with all kind of herbs and natural himalayan ingredients. Gangajal (Ganga water) remains drinkable, unlike normal river sweet water, which stales when kept in bottles or containers for long periods. This is one of the reason Ganga is revered and respected like a goddess which clean one's sins. British officers when in India, used to carry Ganga water with them for extended travel 🙏🇮🇳
I've been to Rishikesh 3 times in 3 different seasons. For me it's the best place on Earth, because it combines everything: nature, mountains, mountain river, spirituality, tradition.
12:42 The Himalayas are pretty sandy, probably because they used to be the bottom of the ocean millions of years ago. So even the regular soil there has a lot of white sand in it. It was pretty surreal seeing that when I visited Rishikesh. Next you should visit Gangotri - the point of origin of the Ganga river. It's further north from Rishikesh and even better when it comes to the scenery, fresh air and calmness. The Gangotri town is pretty comfy as well. Although, I wouldn't recommend riding there on a bike. It's too deep into the mountains and the roads are pretty narrow in many places. Also, visit it during the summer, since it will be closed during winter due to snowfall, since it's near a mountain peak.
What a great guy Gabi is. So honest, so friendly, so open. I loved his emotional side riding to Gangotri. God bless him!! To many more journeys in his life!
There can't be two opinions if I say in Gods creation whole world is beautiful. Its only that we should be open to enjoy the beauty. Having said this it makes us proud when a person from a different country appreciates our land. God bless Gabi. Love from India
I love you Vlogs man , because of only 1 reason that is 'Honesty' ! Some foreigners show only positive side some negative but you show The Real India !
I was there in Rishikesh in November 2022, just like you. This is one of the best videos about Rishikesh that I have ever watched. Thank you so much for this. I felt like I was there again and that did me a lot of good.
Really beautiful scenery and you present it so well. Wish I was there! I've not been to Rishikesh but have been to Darjeeling and Sikim, two very beautiful spots in India. They're well worth a look, if you want to travel the 1700 km to get there. Best of luck and thanks for stirring my India wanderlust again. Take care.
There's something wrong in Darjeeling main city area that is crowded and not very clean. I don't know where you visited but off beat places of darjeeling or Sandakphu is one of best trek in India in darjeeling. Sandakphu trek is my recommendation. And in Sikkim , North Sikkim is best.
I was there in 1995. Completely different! Your take on India is amazing. India should pay you money for promoting India the way you do. Absolutely brilliant! Love your channel, Gabi! Cheers from Denmark. I have only tried yoga one time, and that was in Rishikesh. To this day I have never done it again. Also stayed in an ashram for one night. But that was not for me also. But great place, with all the crackpots from The West thinking that they are really Indians, and not Westerners. A sight to behold. Hahahaha. I had nothing in common with most people there, but the scenery is out of this world!
Being Indian i got to know somethng new like Arti is derived from Aratrika which means removing darkness..wow..india is such vast and deep entire world can take somethng out of it..!!! Kudos to u brother !!
I did my MBA from Dehradun and we'd always escape to Rishikesh on the weekends amidst the hustle and bustle of college life in a B School. There's a strangely positive energy around Rishikesh, I've never quite understood it but the place certainly heals you. Great visuals !
The poverty you saw in Haridwar that shook your inner core, is also showing one facet of human life. It shouldn't have to be this way but it is what it is. After this experience, one would look back and let go of of one's entitled life and makes us appreciate everything that life offers to us. Great vlog. 👍
BUT MAN SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE BY THE GOVERNMEMT AND THE HINDUS COMMUNITY TO GET RID OF POVERTY AND THE BEGGARS. AT LEAST AROUND ALL RELIGIOUS PLACES IN INDIA.
Public comment. Rishikesh is beautiful and amazing place. I really love Rishikesh. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful place. I really love India 🇮🇳. I was in rishikesh on Oct 2016 .
It used to be so much more beautiful two decades ago, you can't believe how much it changed. It makes me sad. God bless your journeys and try riding along the Narmada river to its source. Orchha is lovely and green too.
Foreigners get a very wrong perception of India from outside through the media and it is fuelled because they have not learned about Indian History during their childhood. If you understand what India once was and it's history it will change your whole perspective and the way you see India. I would request that you also learn some Indian History like I did and research the Mauryan Empire, Gupta Empire, Chola Empire etc. And also their relations with Greece and Rome which I believe you are from.
But there are many poors in India Accept this . And what life they are living you will not understand this coz may be you are not a poor of such a level It is easy to comment while sitting in a big and rich house
This is my favorite place on Earth - Rishikesh!!! Ancient, immensely spiritual and historical, the Ganges and Ashrams, the peace and openness, the spectacular nature, the sacred Ganga once again - it’s all DIVINE!!!
@@sunilrandhawa6120 most of it can certainly be seen and explored on foot and in fact that’s the best way to do it. I would not recommend driving yourself but if you get tired there usually are some taxis or rickshaws available. Personally I believe that all motorized transportation should not be allowed in that area - but that’s another story.
Haridwar is a place for spiritual people... people who left their materialistic society...they were begging here just to stay relatable in this world, not for any other purposes.. they left money and other staff... but food is important to stay active in this world... that's why they're begging for food not for the money ...and they knows people are kind here to support them in daily life... 🧬
I agree with gabi when he says"he can feel the energy". You feel the vibe of such places when you go there with an open mind, unbiased and not being judgemental.
Loved your video, and I love Rishikesh. The first time I was there was back in 1987, and then several times after that. But I have to admit, that the number of tourists and people visiting is making Rishikesh and Haridwar lots more crowded than it used to be. More beggars and roaming sadhus asking for money than ever before. And Parmath Niketan is especially crowded during the evening aratis. You can always go out far enough where it gets nice and quiet, and I will always go back to visit, but I have to admit, I liked it better as it used to be years ago.
Tour the North East part of India to enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of nature/hill stations and of course the hospitality of the ever kind people.....not forgetting the diverse foods, festivals and culture/traditions. It won't disappoint you and your budget bucket 🪣🌍😘😀
@@ridewithgabi no, not the north. The northeast is a completely different region comprising of 8 states. The culture is so different you'll feel like you're in another country altogether. You shouldn't miss Sikkim and meghalaya at least . Absolutely beautiful places.
Don't get sad with people begging for food. Pilgrims only have half of a jackfruit as a bowl for getting food in it and a cane, walking up to the Himalayas and it's normal that they beg for food. As a pilgrim, you have to have full trust that the universe is nourishing you and gives you food if you need: whole world is an ashram, everything provided, one swami told me once. If you go to the Himalayas, don't miss Gangotri🙏🙏🙏. Very nice vid about Rishikesh. Enjoy India. Don't think with your brain. Just fully enjoy with all your senses🙏♥️♥️♥️⭐⭐⭐

That was an excellent video. I’ve been to India only once to visit one of my best friends who’s from Calcutta. We saw Delhi, Agra, Calcutta, and Mumbai. I would love to see other areas like this next time.
Rishikesh showed you what is peace and real meaning of life and Haridwar showed you that you should be thankful what you have many people working harder for their life and you should be happy and thankful to God and be positive.... Not everything is bad it's just our reference level to understand that thing... सीता राम...🤍
Hi Gabi , in Indian there is very less extreme poverty bcz govt provide free grains and these beggar just doing business bcz haridwar have alot of Hindu pilgrims

Hi Gabi, its such a pleasant video. I am from Delhi and Rishikesh is like our soul. The calmness and purity you feel in here is simply amazing.
Masala Dosa is my favorite Indian dish! So nice to see you in one of my favorite cities in India!
What a journey , you have really opened my eyes to this region . Beautifully shot , the cows are the highlight .

There can't be two opinions if I say in Gods creation whole world is beautiful. Its only that we should be open to enjoy the beauty. Having said this it makes us proud when a person from a different country appreciates our land. God bless Gabi. Love from India
May Shiva's soul rest in peace. I wanna come to Rishikesh for yoga teacher training 💗 India is so beautiful and the culture too
Siva is not dead :/. Also hindus dont say rip when someone dies , we say om santi .

Take care.
Thank you 😊 I will definitely come back to explore that area
There's something wrong in Darjeeling main city area that is crowded and not very clean. I don't know where you visited but off beat places of darjeeling or Sandakphu is one of best trek in India in darjeeling. Sandakphu trek is my recommendation. And in Sikkim , North Sikkim is best.
living peacefully with all creatures ....thats what india is ..best place on earth !!
Anywhere in the world no matter, how much frustrated you are... Rishikesh is place of god's own will give you inner peace ✌️🕊️ and satisfaction.
Hi it s good you ve been to those religious places .
Being an hindu from abroad I ve never been to those places !
Hats off to you !
I hope Bharath reclaims it's spiritual glory. Thx for your travel insights Gabi, love and light ☸️🔱🌙
I'll be visiting Rishikesh this year. Cannot wait! Thanks for this introduction.
Aapka intezaar rahega 🙏
Being Indian i got to know somethng new like Arti is derived from Aratrika which means removing darkness..wow..india is such vast and deep entire world can take somethng out of it..!!! Kudos to u brother !!
Same here
Thanks
It's always been wonderful in Rishikesh....I am proud be an INDIAN.....🙏🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
I did my MBA from Dehradun and we'd always escape to Rishikesh on the weekends amidst the hustle and bustle of college life in a B School. There's a strangely positive energy around Rishikesh, I've never quite understood it but the place certainly heals you. Great visuals !
From which college? I am planning to go there, I'm a solo female traveller,is it safe and monsoon time is good?
I really love your videos ❤️. Though I had been to Rishikesh many many times. I would still love to visit there.
Visit once kedarnath , situated in uttarakhand
@@mahendrajumnoodoo891 agree, but many beggers are Bangladeshi also.
Millions of them.
Then Rohingyas...
@@avs6362 so true , i don't know what government is doing deport them as soon as possible
poverty is important rather mandatory for god realization , being helpless actually , in simple words 🙂
They all are outsiders they are not from hills they all are from plains like up Bihar for sure
Public comment. Rishikesh is beautiful and amazing place. I really love Rishikesh. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful place. I really love India 🇮🇳. I was in rishikesh on Oct 2016 .

Rishikesh is so beautiful and peaceful place. Mostly tourist visit to Rishikesh. Welcome to India 💐

I am very fortunate that Rishikesh is my birthplace ♥️♥️
The guy at the 15 minute mark was lovely. Bless him 🧡
Yes 😉
Thanks buddy promoting our indian culture 🙏🙏🙏
That's my birthplace.
Happy to see people having peace there.
It used to be so much more beautiful two decades ago, you can't believe how much it changed. It makes me sad. God bless your journeys and try riding along the Narmada river to its source. Orchha is lovely and green too.
Yes I heard that before was so different and more authentic. But I still had a wonderful time
I have been to India three times. I cannot wait to go back. I feel compelled to return again.
If you visit India, come not as tourist. Come as a pilgrim. It will change your life.
But there are many poors in India
Accept this .
And what life they are living you will not understand this coz may be you are not a poor of such a level
It is easy to comment while sitting in a big and rich house
@@aaryameena who talked about poverty? did he denied it?
This is my favorite place on Earth - Rishikesh!!! Ancient, immensely spiritual and historical, the Ganges and Ashrams, the peace and openness, the spectacular nature, the sacred Ganga once again - it’s all DIVINE!!!
Do you need to drive to explore or can it be seen all on foot, nore thank happy to walk for hours as will be visiting for some time?
@@sunilrandhawa6120 most of it can certainly be seen and explored on foot and in fact that’s the best way to do it. I would not recommend driving yourself but if you get tired there usually are some taxis or rickshaws available. Personally I believe that all motorized transportation should not be allowed in that area - but that’s another story.
HIMALAYA REGION IS THE TOTALLY HEAVEN PLACE ON THE EARTH NO ONE CAN BEAT THE BEAUTY OF THAT PLACE. FINALLY, I LOVE MY UTTARAKHAND ❤️❤️
Such an amazing video brother
Lots of love
-From Karnataka, South India 🇮🇳
It's not south india it's southern part of India
Haridwar is a place for spiritual people... people who left their materialistic society...they were begging here just to stay relatable in this world, not for any other purposes.. they left money and other staff... but food is important to stay active in this world... that's why they're begging for food not for the money ...and they knows people are kind here to support them in daily life... 🧬
I love when you say sit back , relax and enjoy awesome to watch your all blogs thanks
I agree with gabi when he says"he can feel the energy". You feel the vibe of such places when you go there with an open mind, unbiased and not being
judgemental.
Thank you for awakening me, never heard of it but it sounds so iconic and mystical.
I will definitely come back to explore the north more :)
@@ridewithgabi no, not the north. The northeast is a completely different region comprising of 8 states. The culture is so different you'll feel like you're in another country altogether. You shouldn't miss Sikkim and meghalaya at least . Absolutely beautiful places.
@@brajajamatia6744 and Arunachal too it's too beautiful ... There is place Tawang and Mechuka which is breathtaking.
Thanks Gabi , new subscriber , really enjoying your Indian diaries ! .... Karma is important , what goes round , comes round .
Thank you John 🙏🏻
I haven't had the chance to visit India so far. If I ever get to go, I will certainly visit Rishikesh and other places in Uttarakhand. Whenever I see videos like yours, I feel that this region must have been home for me in another lifetime. Thank you for sharing your time in Rishikesh with us!
Nice video sir. Lots of love from India 😘😘😘
Such a beautiful video, loved the drone footage and the music composition. Ill be in Rishikesh in July for a Yoga retreat. In 2014 I was in Haridwar as well waiting on a train to Delhi. I didnt know anything about the place but it too also shook me. I witnessed some things that even today is clear in my minds eye....it changes you. India. Looking forward to the roadtrip ahead! Stay blessed Gabi x

Gab... You missed the Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh! No one told you? Some of their greatest hits were written there
I went outside, they want 600 rupees for foreigners to visit. And one friend told me is not really worth it.
So I decide to leave. But I know that is one of the most popular attractions here in Rishikesh.
I just didn’t feel like going inside. Maybe next time 😉
