@@ridewithgabi bro, India is 7th largest country, so it will take time to travel from one place to another and don't you think if you cautiously get off your destination then you didn't have to take autorickshaw and one more thing bro, winter is approaching in our country and will remain till February, especially in north India so better avoid travelling by bike.

India is such a beautiful country with beautiful people. It breaks my heart to see the mountains of garbage in every open space and along every riverbank. I wish the government would take action to keep the country clean. It has to start with education... but it has to start!

Constructive criticism is most welcome, however let me correct you. Since last decade Clean and Green India Mission under Government of India has done wonders in our Country. Yes there are some garbage loitering in some tourist places but over all, situation has improved in Waste Management in India. Give us time, within few years, those issues shall be solved. Even in many developed countries you will find mountain of garbage. It's not an excuse however it's all about citizens attitude and mentality towards cleanliness surrounding.

@@ridewithgabiIt's great to see that you have taken the negativity of the comments in your stride. Not everybody has the skin for it. So, kudos to you on that.
However, notwithstanding their tone, some of them do have some merit and some great tips for travellers, especially foreigners who might naturally be disoriented by an unfamiliar setting.
One thing that I feel hasn't been covered by others but is a very important consideration for travellers is the tiered system the trains operate in. Different trains enjoy different priorities on the same route.
In times of very harsh weather conditions, like the extremely foggy winters of the north (as seen in the video) or the torrential rains of the coasts, the system as a whole naturally experiences delay.
However trains with the higher priorities (particularly premium trains like Rajdhani, Tejas, Vande Bharat etc.) are kept on time, to the detriment of lower priority trains like the one you travelled in, presumably was.
If a lower priority train starts running late and is being followed by a higher priority train, it is made to stop at a station to let the higher priority train pass. So once a lower priority train loses time, it becomes a compounding issue as it's made to stop again and again to let other higher priority trains pass so that at least they maintain their schedule.
Something similar happens in air travel as well. A flight in this weather would also have been delayed but there this phenomenon happens across carriers. Some carriers may be rather punctual while the budget ones are not.
In Indian railways, the carrier is just the one (Indian Railways) but the trains themselves exist across various strata of priority with the premium ones at the top and the budget ones at the bottom. They differ immensely in their amenities as well, including but not limited to catering services, cleaning services, attendant services, in-train information displays and PA systems etc.
One catch though is that the premium trains tend to have very few stops which are generally very big cities along the route, separated by hundreds of kilometres.
That's how I know that your train was a lower priority one. No decent train would stop at a hamlet, and absolutely never when it's just 35kms from the previous station. So it's about striking a balance.
Also, use online booking and the digital payment system. It has now been extended to foreign tourists. The online system brings with it free SMS updates before and during the journey.
      Safe travels! 😊

The misty winds from the Himalayan foot hills could bring in chill for sure!!
In India, if you are in a genuinely difficult situation, govt officials, police, bank mangers, hotel managers etc (most of whom have a sense of their nuisance value) may behave bureaucratic to make it more difficult, but public will do everything in their capacity to ensure that your difficulties are sorted out!!

I’m from Singapore. I travelled alone to India 3 times and it can be very stressful taking the trains especially along the cow belt of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Many a times, the trains will be delay especially during the winter months due to fog cum air pollution. Once I took a train from Agra to Amritsar and waited for 14/16 hours in the train station due to dense fog. Luckily I bought travel insurance and was reimbursed a few hundred dollars. Despite all these delays, I really enjoyed my train rides in India.

Honestly Pat that wasn't that bad actually, cos the next station was only 35 km away. There are train routes in India where if he missed a stop the next one would've been like a 150 km away. Imagine that. 😅

This was definitely not as bad as he made it out. Probably, his bike elsewhere, hence the anxiousness. You were just abt 35 km from the bike and it was you missing the train station.
When planning a journey by train or even some busses, keep the local app handy and CHECK the current status and estimated time of arrival always. Be ready abt 20 mins ahead( set an alarm or may be 2). Note: the trains stop at only major junctions for like 10 to 20 mins for refuelling, cleaning and refilling water, but at all small stations it is just 2 mins.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your journey.

This reminded me of an incident happened back in 2019. I'm a North Indian and it was my first ever visit to South India. During our college tour, I was about to miss my station in Goa.. it was around 4 in the morning, I was sleeping and my friends forgot to wake me. The train was about to leave the station and everybody else has already left the train. Thank God, a gentleman woke me to ask where am I going.. and when I looked around, I was shocked that none of my friends were there. But the train was still at the station. So I rushed to get my baggage and met them outside. I was so mad at all of them since no one noticed I was still inside the train. 😂😂
I appreciate how you managed the situation and maintained your calm. I believe optimism is the only key to have such great experiences from the life. You can either cry about your circumstances or try to learn something from them. All the best for your future journeys. Btw I just joined your channel yesterday and i enjoyed watching your videos. Good luck 😇

My dear brother.. First of all, we know very well how poverty is deeply enrooted in India and its not a crime to show the rural life of India. So we must learn to accept that without getting offended. Secondly he is only explaining that these are the things which could go wrong while one is travelling. Plus he didn't got into any kind of argument with anyone as far as we can see on the video. And this experience was certainly not very good for him.. the train was around 6 hours late.. so his reaction was completely genuine.. just try to put yourself in his shoes.. Lastly he appreciate the things which he really like.. if it was all about gaining followers.. then he might have never criticized anything about India.. he is only trying to be honest and real. Good night 😇

Poverty is not India specific it exists every where you go no matter how rich the country is you have image of Europe get out of it and reasearch. I believe you must be on the wrong channel, buddy. He has captured some incredible views of India that are so stunning that i even remarked in a comment, that they should be in a documentary or a tourism promotion for India!
I believe you have your preconceived notions of past foreigners and you are holding him accountable for that! It is very unfair to judge him that way when I bet you have not even watched his other videos! This is the only video that is a little dull, and that is because he wanted to be honest about his journey, that traveling is not always a bed of roses. The guy has said many times, that he loves India, that he loves so much of India. He always talks about the greatest things India has to offer but also trying to be honest without being mean about anything, unlike you, if I should say so, with your comments on his country. He is a genuine person, watch his other videos! Or do you prefer the other YTers that pretend to your face how great everything in India is, and then spit out when your back is turned?
And to be honest he has not said an unkind word about India. If you do, please tell me about it, i will be waiting.... I guess you prefer to pretend that everything is so perfect in India, that nothing needs to changed, huh? I seriously think you need to go watch his videos and come back with an apology.

Second, whenever u book a hotel especially a nonstar through Oyo, Agoda, Expedia, etc try to find out the hotel contact & confirm your booking directly (not through the call center ) as many of these hotels are no longer affiliated with these companies & when u will arrive u will be stuck

Don't trust Agoda at all in India. It's not common here and 99% of the times Agoda takes the booking without even checking with the hotel neither it notifies hotel after booking.
And if you're transporting bike via train then it'll remain safe (if not packed properly chances of some damages are there) and you can only collect it at destination station from morning 8 till evening 6.
We are used to delays so we never expect long route trains to reach destination exactly on time.
Whenever you're planning to travel here, plan it accordingly keeping in mind to start off as early in morning and reach destination before 9pm because after 9pm all cities (except big cities) start closing down and transportaion becomes difficult and too costly

Sometimes I opt to fly rather than get the train. It really depends on the distance and the length of the journey. I know it is often tempting to go for the cheaper option but time has a value also, especially when travelling. I don’t want to feel too exhausted because it just makes me miserable and bad tempered.

Except for the fact that you had to go to bed hungry, it was quite an adventure. The autocab driver was really very polite and went out of his way to help you and perhaps saved you from catching a bad cold by advising for some tea and also took risk to his own life as it is not at all safe to drive long distance on any road with low visibility at night with such fog around, especially on a light vehicle in India where some drivers from opposite flank tend to drive on the wrong lane and can ram into you any moment so 500 rupees he charged for 35 kilometers was very decent.
You have to check from the official site while booking train tickets for long distance trains in India if food price is included in the ticket. On some premium long distance trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Tejas, Vande Bharat etc you can buy food from the railways catering onboard the train by paying rupees 50 extra over the advance booking price of the specific meal (breakfast, lunch, evening snack or dinner) without having to book meal while booking tickets but some other trains may not have any catering service at all so you always have to enquire while booking ticket if the train you intend to board runs catering setvice and if they do not, you have to arrange for yourself by buying meals or snacks before the journey starts.

Travel second class, cheaper, more people to tell you things, you'll be awake more and not miss your destination. Be safe.
Seems like you were hungry for almost an entire day. Going hungry on a train journey is terrible. First thing, go to a vessels store and get a plastic dabba or bento box. Then go to a food shop and get Parle G glucose biscuits, the five rupees packs. You see people eating it in RUclips reaction videos. These are for emergencies, goes good with tea, good for sharing with people and animals alike. Then you have the Britannia Good Day cookies, and Britannia mini cakes. Pack up. If you see a store that sells South Indian snacks, get stuff like chakli(murku), kodubale, they have long shelf life, good munchies for train rides. Then get chiki, peanut brittle.
Keep dry rations handy. It's cold right now up north, you got to be well fed. Bananas too, a couple.

I did not have a good experience with Agoda either and for that matter airbnb. Their snaps of the accommodation are fabricated and dont give one the true picture. Comments help

Whenever I travel and my destination arrival time is at night or early morning like 2:00 am, 4:00 am I will activate like 4,5 alarms 20-30 minutes before actual arrival time to stay awake or find someone who is going to same destination and ask him to wake me up (as a backup plan)..
