Do y’all have friends or family members that call you to check on you, ever?? Sounds like not being able to afford a massive premium/luxury SUV is the end of a world y’all used to know. Like wtf. Toyota punps in the sound hoping you'll forget about the denali that actually has a big v8. The denali is truly an upscale luxury vehicle so they intentionally keep their engines quiet enough that it won't annoy you but you know it is there when you really get on it. We drive a denali and we always look for one on turo when traveling.

    Toyota blew it by not making second row seats that slide, by ruining 3rd row legroom, and by making a useless cargo area…all so they could replace the V8 with a V6 hybrid. GM hasn’t walked into that trap yet, which is what makes the Yukon the clear winner here.

      Y’all are always wanting to count *gm’s* pockets & their profit margins trying to determine what something’s worth is just from looking at it. That’s not how this works. You can’t tell how much development costs are just from looking at something.
      You intentionally left out the fact the sound system is a serious upgrade with speakers built into the seats & roof which costs money. You left out the fact it comes standard with Supercruise (worth $3k alone), massaging seats, and much more expensive leather and stitching throughout the interior. Also the attention to detail in the D. Ultimate as the regular Denali doesn’t have laser etched woods or topographical maps embedded into the leather. That kind of attention to detail costs money.

    • @ktpinnacle
      @ktpinnacle Месяц назад

      @@G-Rated I didn't "leave out" the audio system upgrade. The audio system upgrade goes from 14 to 18 speakers, due to the headrest speakers. You can no longer get the 3K super cruise upgrade on the standard Denali without GMC adding another 3K in upgrades for a total of 6K in mandatory upgrades. The laser-etched leather and real woods still don't add up to 20K for me with the audio, radar chrome and massaging seats (which evidently are a better constructed seat as well - why not give a more comfortable seat to ALL Yukon buyers?).
      I've been driving GM trucks since 1981 as daily drivers. Two K-Blazers and a Yukon that today has 365K miles on the same engine and transmission. I have no reason to look elsewhere unless I feel that GMC is picking my pocket. They have with this Ultimate version of the Yukon.

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated Месяц назад +1

      @@ktpinnacle You’re all over the place. The attention to detail and craftsmanship found in the D. Ultimate interiors you can’t put a price cap on because you have no clue how much of a premium GMC paid for the more expensive materials used throughout the whole truck. It’s expensive adding speaker systems into seating with fancy authentic metal grilles. That costs money. Real leather isn’t cheap either, that’s why luxury brands like Mercedes use faux leather called “MBTex” because real leather is so expensive. GMC went above/beyond by having their real leather engraved with topographical maps of Mount. Denali, the extra detailing throughout comes at an additional costs as well or else everyone selling a SUV in this segment would have it. That’s just _most_ of the interior.
      D. Ultimate also comes standard with air suspension, a bespoke chrome finish, and a unique set of intricately designed 22-inch wheels. Certainly reasonable to suspect at least $15k in upgrades here.

Oh btw, the battery costs about $6K to replace and the turbocharger costs about $6,500.00. Toyota says the turbo will run between 100/125,000 miles and the battery should last about 150,000 miles but seeing as manufacturers lie all the damn time, I suspect those numbers are a lot lower. They'll just band-aid fix the problems until the truck is out of warranty and then it's "Oh your battery died? whaaat? Your turbo died and you have no power upon acceleration? OOOh, I'm sorry, it seems your warranty has expired. Unfortunately, you'll have to cover the cost out of pocket, F**K YOU, PAY ME!!!!
