I didn't think it was good as the SNES. It felt like less effort was put into the games. It was also the first Nintendo system I was disgusted by shovel-ware with.
Lots of shovelware for sure but enough good ones to be remembered fondly. Sonic Advance 1 & 3, Sonic Battle, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury, and Mega Man Battle Network 3 & 4 were my favorites.
It’s 2026, only anime style video game in existence is senran kagura. Capcom can only make Disney games. Konami can only make beat ‘em ups. Overwatch is outlawed
Hey Mike, if you want to play a less janky side scrolling 2D beat em up, try Wayforward's Batman The Brave and the Bold, on the DS. It's in the style of the Animated Series, and the old '66 Adam West Batman TV show. It's really worth checking out. -Matt
The Game Boy Advance is such a great system. I love the game selection and how it was a slight graphical improvement over the SNES but still provided you with some great nostalgia of 2D games. A system I still revisit annually to get my fix.
Hey, Mike, I know the last thing you need is another game suggestion, but consider the following anyways: everything The Legend of Zelda on NES was to you and James is exactly what Final Fantasy on NES was to me, and I'm sure many others. It would be a good topic to get the chat involved in, too, I think. All that imagination spark that you and James were talking about in the Link to the Past Monday videos, that was FF for me. I'd already played like 20 or so beat 'em ups and such up to that point, but my gamer skills were still at a very novice and amateur level. I loved FF because I'd never seen a game before where you had a party, rather than a single character, as well as your characters actually getting stronger after defeating enemies, plus turn-based jRPG type combat and having towns to explore and people to talk to. These were all brand new concepts to me in games at the time. Yeah, it's a bit grindy, but nowhere near as bad as Final Fantasy 5, which you got a good chunk of the way thru. It can be beaten in about 10 hours or so, it's not a super long one like the SNES Final Fantasy games.
If you want more B:TAS games, there's a version of Batman Vengeance on PC and consoles that's in 3d and has most of the original cast reprising their roles. It also has a sequel called Rise of Sin Tsu, which is on consoles and GBA but not PC. Both of these games were released long after the cartoon's original run, but there was a tie in comic to Rise of Sin Tsu called Shadow of Sin Tsu which told an alternate version of the game's story and is still free to read on DC's official website. It's a real testament to the quality of the cartoon that stuff like this was even made.
If you know what you’re doing, Doom on the GBA can be beaten pretty quickly. It’s the same version of the levels that were on the Atari Jaguar version, where many of them have simplified geometry and layouts, some levels having chunks of them missing compared to the PC version. IIRC, the snes version was the only port until the Xbox that had the PC version levels, even though all of them didn’t make it.
Mine too, I never played them until I bought the Advance Collection on Switch and fell in love instantly with Aria Of Sorrow, I've already replayed the game with both characters a few times because of how much I enjoy it.
@@danielblake1537 that’s awesome to hear! Aria of sorrow is such a great game. I’m glad you enjoyed the game! Dawn of Sorrow on the DS is amazing too. Hopefully Konami will release a collection of the three DS games
Hey Mike I have been binge watching your twitch videos as I prefer you in your uncut lengthy glory lol. But I wanted to pop in to say I really appreciate your videos man. Always look forward to seeing your streams, it makes my day or week. You feel like one of my best friends even though we have never met. I know thats cheesy but honestly I can't thank you enough for all the entertaining videos bro keep up the great work! Have a good one dude
I have a soft spot for the GBA version of Doom. Doom 2 is also pretty underrated as well, even tho the blood is censored. If you liked that Monster Truck game, the Need for Speed games on GBA are also impressive, Underground in particular.
Will you ever do a stream where you complete a whole GBA game? WarioLand 4, Kuru Kuri Kurukin, Bomberman Advance and Zelda: Minish Cap would make great streams.
@@CosmicLionheart no seriously. I know its gameboy advance software, but it looks like he is playing through a monitor. Just curious if its an adapter, emulation or something else like a clone console
That is so strange i uploaded a gba variety stream just last night with 3 games on the thumbnail. One of them was also that same batman game. I played only the first level briefly What are the odds lol
Oh I totally missed out. I was busy working I had no idea you were doing a gba stream. It was fun playing the GBA on the big screen with the Game boy player
I tell people all the time if I had to choose one system it’d be the GBA. It’s got all the greats from the snes and a lot from the megadrive. It’s got great exclusives! Truly an excellent library
The only doom I had growing up was the 32X version and I loved it but when I received my GBA in xmas I got Mario Kart and Diom and loved playing doom in school and on the go and is still my favorite gba game to this day.
Hey Mike I just want to say You doing a Good Job on your RUclips Videos with Good Views and all that you're still one Best RUclipsr ever as Always keep up the Good Work on your RUclips Videos.
Nice Mike 😀 May I ask how you played this? GBA player on GC (with a flash cart) ? Maybe you've mentioned it in this 3 hour stream but I missed it 😉 I like emulating gba on wii with retroarch (240p) and play on a CRT (is there any other way)
There's a 3rd GBA Turtles game just called TMNT, made by the team who went on to make the insanely cool Scott Pilgrim brawler. Check it out when you can, it's awesome. (and yes, that should be on a big collection with other arcade and console classics like the Cowabunga Collection.)
When I see stuff like the Flitstones game, or the Medal of Honor game or the titty punching one, I'm reminded that there is someone out there, who actually unironically likes these trash games. You just know there is someone whose favourite game of all time is that Flintstones game, by pure law of probability.
Doom 2 on the GBA is a WAY better experience and looks better then Doom 1 on GBA. I recommend any day over the first if you get the chance to try it out.

" I seriously don't mind this" is the most positive comment Mike ever makes about a game
Every one of your Twitch streams and YT videos help me get through my work days. Always entertaining, thanks Mike.
I love the Gameboy Advance, it’s really just an extension of the SNES but in handheld form with extras.
I always considered it more of between the SNES and N64
@@EarlDogg that's how I see the DS
I didn't think it was good as the SNES. It felt like less effort was put into the games. It was also the first Nintendo system I was disgusted by shovel-ware with.
Thats a great way to put it!!
@@holdingpattern245 I agree, the Advance really is like a portable SNES but the DS has more 3D games like Super Mario 64 etc.
This is my new favorite variety stream. The star trek suggested watchlist is the icing on the cake just before a third of the way through.
42:50 The GBA's so ambitious.
It's as if he's really hitting the speed bags!
21:29 Ahhh, the simple joys of a car horn in a video game.
Gameboy advance. Great memories as a kid. I feel that only 1/4 of the Gameboy advance games for it's library are considered good games.

Some game for pleasure. Matei....he games for vengeance.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 on the GBA was technical masterpiece. Also Tomb Raider and Quake demakes are insane.

the game boy advance is still the handheld console with the best games.
