I'm studying fashion communication and there is only one uni that I could've studied this at in Scotland and I'm too much of a home-bird to move from here. Fashion Communication is a mix of absolutely everything; photography, writing, magazine making, editing, sketch-booking, collaging, mood-boarding and so much more. I would highly recommend a course like this because there are so many paths you can go down with a degree like this xxx
Could you please tell me which school is this in Scotland ? 🥺 I have set my eyes on this course for some times now but haven't found the right one for me yet.

That was exactly as you wanted, fast but thorough! It was very interesting. It will be so useful to those thinking about the fashion degrees and what’s available to them. It showed how hard you’ve worked and I love your channel. Personally I’m not into fashion yet it’s a subject that I enjoy hearing about and you inspire me with your enthusiasm and professionalism. I can no longer work due to health reasons but much of what you talk about can be applied to any area of ones lifestyle. Thank you for sharing and always look forward to what coming next. Yes! I remember when I was planning to study fashion design at uni and I visited Manchester (about 4 years ago) and they mentioned you as a role model and example of those who come out of Fashion at Manchester uni and I was so proud (I'd already been. following you for a few years). Amazing how far you have come!! xx

I love this video Victoria. I’ve never commented before but feel so compelled to say how refreshing it is to hear from someone who has a genuine knowledge and experience in the industry they’re working in. It’s so empowering to hear from an independent and highly educated female voice who is in expert in her field. I’ve felt deflated watching influencers market random products to young impressionable girls, with little actual interest or passion for the brand it’s just to make a fee. I’ve felt for a long time female influencers and social media figures should use their platforms to educate in some way the further generation rather than push them to buy eyeliner and focus on exterior beauty as a way to be relevant. You’re a breath of fresh air and I’m so young glad tomorrow’s young women have you as their role model ❤️

My career background very much started like yours. I did the fashion/arty classes for GCSEs and A levels. Went to college in Windsor to study Retail Merchandising and Display, got my diploma and worked my way up through retail. I was a Visual Merchandiser for 5 years and eventually had a career change once I had achieved my ‘goal’ retailer to work for. It was the most interesting and exciting job I had and I do miss it a lot 💕 x

You add so much value to this space, you’re not the average fashion youtuber who’s only about “I bought this I bought that, buy this, buy that” which is clearly starting to get boring.... I always wanted to do fashion but only did marketing. I think its so inspiring that you have took the time to inform us of how its possible to go into fashion as your right no one gives this information. I love the topic but I wish it had more precise tips and recommendations as to how you can break into the fashion industry, e.g. education, training, skills, qualifications, certificates, work ethic etc. Maybe this warrants a whole series! 💖

This was sooo interesting... I would have loved a job in fashion, always been into it, but it was a different time ( looong time ago) and I wasn’t sure fashion was a good choice... I went for architecture, hated it, got the degree, 2 masters but still dream about fashion and what would have been if I had follow my dream... so nice to see you made it!

Super interesting Vic. I did my BA Hons degree in comms and PR in 2012 and did my dissertation on the impact of web 2.0 (lol web 2.0) creator content on consumer behaviour! If only I had know how it was going to blow up I would have followed that thread much further!! I wanted to start my own YT and blog and have made a number of attempts to do it but have never stuck at it. I now work in HR with the aspiration of having my own HR consultancy in the (hopefully) not so distant future. Really motivational listening to you talk about this. Motivation I need to pursue my next CIPD qualification, level 7, once Corona eases off on us all!! :-) xxx
love this... i really want to do a fashion business major but i was kinda worried about the jobs and my social anxiety.... i never had social anxiety i recently developed it and its like lately i don't like talking to people .... and like the fact that i need to talk to people or like interact and socialize to boost my marketing and all sounds scary but it is what it is and u gave such great advice.... i also plan on getting a PhD one day i.a but am glad i found this video..... i hope and pray i can reach that level

Completely forgot this was in my watch later ! I studied fashion promotion at university for creative arts in Kent. I always knew since I was 9 that I was wanted to work in fashion but always the business side of things. I had some personal trauma so I didn’t get my full degree just a higher diploma. 10 years after leaving I worked at the daily telegraph and Bose head office doing admin jobs and last week I started at ASOS as a merchandising admin assistant. I’m 31 and probably should of done this job 10 years ago! But wanted to take a chance and actually forge a career rather than dead end admin jobs

I disagree. You don’t need a PHD to be successful, but I think this video highlights consistently working hard! Get yourself some work experience, even if it’s once a week alongside your job. Maybe start blogging? This shows you have a genuine interest for the industry and It’s also a great way to show some personality to potential employer or build connections. Hard work pays off 😊 x

Hi Victoria crumbs I did enjoy that ! I wish I knew all that when I got my first job in fashion retail years ago !!!!! No idea all those jobs even existed! I have always enjoyed fashion. My daughter Chanel has an on line company so I really enjoy going buying with her and im great at selling ( even though i say so myself lol) oh must admit this old lock down is getting abit tiresome now I so want to jump on a plane go to Dubai n get the best facial n massage I've ever found ! Takecare guys . My little grandson Walter is one on Sat how weeks fly by. 🥰😇
