They omitted a very important line from Wei after Kal'tsit tells him that Chernobogs core city is coming towards Lungmen. In the anime he just puffs his pipe, which symbolizes the same thing he is saying in the game, but is way more unclear if you don't understand the implications of his disinterest, in the game he straight up scoffs at the idea that this would be a threat by saying something along the lines "This is not a problem Lungmen can defend itself against something like the core city (with the build in artillery the city has as a border city)..." to which Kal'tsit answers that the core city of Chernobog exclaims that it is a part of Ursus, implying that if you shoot the city that is coming for you, you are essentially starting a war between nations (NOT JUST CITIES), by giving Ursus a reason for war.

One fun thing during that fight that was easily missed. At one point, Frostnova attacked Blaze with a drone. It came to attack her again, but the Doctor smashed his drone into it to help Blaze. Not much, easy to miss, but he tried to help!

Blaze said she trusted the doctor's eyes because she had never met the doctor before he lost his memories. Ace and Scout however, knew the doctor from before he got amnesia. Scout referred to the past doctor by saying that, "when you look into his eyes, you see victory. You see nothing but victory."
And he also said that, "the doctor is willing to make sacrifices, but he will never waste those sacrifices." Which implied that past doctor was a calculating and highly efficient strategist.
So yeah, quite a big difference from the current doctor.

To answer your question about what Ch'en saw in the sewers (they never really showed us but it was quite obvious what she saw down there), it is a pile of corpses.
The crystallisation of Originium becomes more rapid when an Infected person dies, growing in size until it eventually shatter into dust after there is no more organic matter to crystallize.
The fact that the originium crystals became that huge plus the fact that she was complaining that the stench is getting stronger indicates that what she's seeing is a huge pile of Infected corpses.
Anyway, this entire episode was pretty much adapted 1-1 with the final part of Chapter 6. This is pretty much to end it on a cliffhanger to build anticipation for the next chapter.

Lot of season 3 teasers in the credits of this finale. Wont say more.

Amiya standing up for her beliefs to everyone.

Not really spoilers, just a little context. Chernobog is obviously modelled after Chernobyl, a city under a Tsarist Russian Empire, while Lungmen is essentrially the somewhat self-governing Hong Kong under an imperial Chinese dynasty. When these two cities collide, you can imagine the geopolitical implications.

About last part with Core City of Chernobog
When the nomadic city is getting abondoned - it stops emmiting ID code which is coming from local Control Center 'cause if its abondoned - there's nobody to operate and mantain the signal. This ID code basically tells goverments nearby to which country or company this specific nomadic city belongs, in which case part of Chernobog still belongs to Ursus since its signal is kept being maintaned and operating by Reunion despite Ursus Goverment pretty much gave this city away due of it getting annihilated by catastrophy caused by Tallulah. And 'cause of that they used this whole city to basically ram into cluster of nomadic cities of Lungman which turns things really difficult:
If Lungman or any force of either Lungman or Yan (Country to which Lungman belongs) try to attack it to stop it from attacking or they will let it ram into Lungman - that will destroy Chernobog and provoke all-in war between Ursus and Yan in which Yan will be agressor for attacking Ursus city and it WILL be absurdly destructable and terrible for everyone in Terra. Next season is gonna be about this incident, just wait for next fall.

I can agree this episode felt a little rushed/cluttered, because they tried to show a lot for the finale. It's kinda similar in the game. Suddenly a lot happens towards the finale.
What was in the sewers were tons of corpses, from all the people who were slaughtered by the black cloaks and reunion. When infected people die, their bodies start to crystalize and ultimately break down into dust, which is highly imfectious. So they dumped all the bodies somewhere, where they can break down "safely". What Ch'en saw was basically a mass-grave.
A bit more context from the game's story for FrostNova:
-She knew she was basically out of time and she knew how tenacious Rhodes Island is. They would most definitely clash with Talulah in the future. So she decided to put her life on the line and test Rhodes Island, to see if they can overcome her strength. If Rhodes Island would fail here, there wouldn't be any point going after Talulah, who is way stronger than her. Seeing Amiya as a new hope for the infected, she wants to put her faith in them and help them get prepared in what little way she can.
-As she mentions in the anime as well, she has lost almost everyone dear to her, she has killed so many people and her body is in this horrible state. She felt like death is what she deserved. So she tried to make her's as meaningful as possible, but didn't run away from it.

between the awful unusual smell in the sewers (callback to the smell Meteorite and Frostleaf smelled back when Mephisto burned the building) and the fact the blackcloaks were behind it (and half the season we've been seeing the blackcloaks massacring every infected they find - even children) and the fact that some of Reunion were trying to help civilians flee from the blackcloaks through the sewers, it's supposed to be implied that the sewers are just filled with corpses of civilians.
It's just that between the fact that it's a Chinese game (China has certain social mores and censorship rules about showing certain levels of graphic injuries on camera) and the game and anime trust you can connect the dots, it's not explicitly shown.

why does frostnova seek death? Not sure she has much options here. she's got terminal rock cancer in a late stage. of which there is no cure.

    • @k0mmand

It is, in some ways, a trend I'm seeing in some of the antagonists that have died up to that point (and one of them isn't supposed to be one). Probably another one's gonna be added to the list soon.
I can see this kind of thinking with Misha (in episode 8) and Faust (in episode 13). In the last few moments of their lives- when the rock cancer has nearly taken over them already, they have been attempting the same thing that you just said- Misha trying to become Skullshatterer v2.0 (and try she did), and Faust with his last crossbow shot.
FrostNova though gets the better treatment as she would get recognized by Rhodes Island as one of its members (albeit posthumously), while the other two would have their names seen among the gravestones in the first map of Arknights: Endfield, which is set many years into the future from where Arknights' is in the current timeline.

  • @Nevri.
    @Nevri. 10 месяцев назад +9

I mean that's exactly how it was in the game. In fact it was worse, cos it is episodes from 4 to 6 combined, so you don't need to wait between them, unlike us. But yes, episode 6 in game ends on the revelation that Chernobog is moving towards Lungmen. It was meant to be a big cliffhanger. As for putting too much stuff into last episode, I blame the decision to stick to 8 episodes every season. Not even standard 12. For the most part they do a decent job at compacting everything, but it is really only going to get harder from here. I have no idea whose decision it was or what's the reasoning, but it is single most disappointing part of this adaptation. They really needed more time to flesh out certain things more. I was really excited at first, because it's project funded directly by creators of the game, so I was under the impression that they can dedicated as much episodes as they want, but instead they decided to give it the bare minimum, even less than that in fact.
So the sewers is just simply massacred people from slums. People lived in/run away to sewers, when the fight with Reunion broke out and Black Cloaks killed everyone there, cos Wei saw it as great opportunity to get rid of all the problems at once. Basically Ch'en saw corpses of all the people she worked so hard to protect. Again censorship not doing any favors, but her talking about strong stench was supposed to clue you in.
Ch'en remembered, because she only saw Black Cloaks as a child and had no idea who and what they are and then probably forgot. Now that she learned not only they exist, but are under direct order of Wei, she was able to understand what she saw a child more clearly.
So about ending, it's very simple. The core part of the city of Chernobog (the one they saved Doctor from in season 1 and was devastated by Catastrophe) is currently moving towards Lungmen. If nothing is done, both cities will collide, but there's not enough time to move Lungmen out of the way (mobilizing and moving a Nomadic City takes some time and is a complicated process). The alternative is trying to dmg incoming city to make it stop, but that's where the identification signal comes into place. While every Nomadic City is kinda it's own state, they all belong to some country. So Chernobog belong to Ursus and Lungmen belongs to Yan.
Normally, when city gets destroyed/abandoned, it stops emitting the code (mostly because there's nobody there to operate it) and everyone assumed that Chernobog was destroyed and abandoned by Ursus. By despite it being on direct collision course with Lungmen, it's still emitting its identification code and Ursus government made no statement about it, basically confirming that they still claim to own the city. So If Lungmen attempts to do anything to it, it'll be equal to attacking one of Ursus cities and declaring war on them.

    • @Doz148
      @Doz148 10 месяцев назад

Ursus has its own internal political problems, which is why Chernobog was so easily given over to the Reunion. The activation of this code is most likely a personal message from Kashchei through Talulu.

The mobile city thing is a political issue that is rather unique to arknights and would be difficult to analog to the real world. Closest I can think is captured submarine launching a nuke and nobody anywhere knew it got stolen.
So understand there is no global communication system in arknights, no sattelights no relay towers no world wide intetnet. So Wei cant pick up a red phone to the usrsus leader go wtf to ursus leader.
Mobile cities are large but made of many many blocks that can detach and move on its own. Imagine trying to move something the size of New York City with additional land masses to feed and water everyone there. To safely do this usually takes a month.
Finally Ursus is a saber ratteling nation, if Wei shoots the city they will declare a defensive war. If Wei doesnt fire its going to wreck his city significantly weakening it's ability to fend off Ursus and the Ursus will happily secure what's left.
Essentially Reunion handed both nations a war declaration against each other and Ursus is likely the only one being giddy about it because they can lay the blame of Reunion existing on Lungmen as well (tellelah is from Lungmen) making them the perfect scape goats.

The anime pretty much ended the way Chapter 6 ended in the game. We were all left on this cliffhanger back then as well. So I'm pretty sure a Season 3 is coming sooner or later.
Chernobog signalling they are a city of Ursus basically means it's Ursus territory. In other words, it's politics. If Lungmen, a city of Yan, tries to destroy Chernobog, a city of Ursus in order to keep it from colliding with them, it'll spark fire between the 2 countries. Similarly, if Lungmen doesn't do anything to Chernobog, then Chernobog will crash into Lungment causing damage and resulting in conflicts between the 2 countries. This is why Wei had the "oh shit" surprised face when Kal'tsit gave him the news. That's what Kal'tsit was alluding to and Wei understood it right away.

    Frostnova case is certainly strange
When she said she want to join Rhode Island, she mean that she willingly to belive in cause of the faction
however, if you take a look at her situation, there is no moral way she can follow it though
    1) Her family is basically actual criminals in the eyes of society
    2) All of them are at death door due to Oripathy, the whole reason for Reunion is that they "Have no future" anyway, so they want to use all their lasting breath to topple the existing system
    3) Should she join Rhode Island, she is likely have to fight her former allies, even though they are not part of Yeti Squad, which she does not truely want to do. Her regret lies entirely on Tallular and the way Tallular betraying the original cause of Reunion, but not Reunion themselve.
I wish we have more reminiscent about Frostnova in the game other than from Tallular PoV (which actually explain many part of this Frosnova plot point)

We have not seen proper militaries involved. If you think what the black capes is bad just wait until you see what the Ursus army is capable of. And that's just the regular army not the special units like the Emperor's blade.

Fun fact: in game when Doctor carries Frost Nova's body from the sewers he says to guards "another infected just died". And actually don't know which is better comrade or infected. 'Comrade' is tragic and dramatic, she is part of the RI now; but 'infected' more meaningful to me. In Terra, there are a huge amount of infected, such as FN, are confused, struggling, not even sure with what, and no longer able to change something in fate.

I should really watch season 1 and 2. I probably will binge it once the fall season ends and before the start of the new winter season.

I said it before in another comment, but yes it's not wrapping anything up arc wise so I was saying I hope you don't expect it will in the finale. This is still arc 1, same as AK's first season of anime which was mostly chapter 0-3/4.
Arc1 doesn't end until chapter 8, and this second was from chapter 5 till the end of chapter 6. Probably two more seasons for chapter 7 and chapter 8 each, unless they really rush through it but 8 episodes for 7 and 8 feels like it'd be way too short. chapter 8 especially is super long.
Arc 2 starts at ch9 which I doubt the anime will get to anytime soon if ever, because arc 2 isn't done yet.

    About the Identification code:
This one is a doozy but it make much more sense and impact in the game due to the amount of speculation the fanbase has put together over the months base on the tib bits within the chapters
The reverlation drop will make everything very clear when 3rd season drop but I do agree that this segues is not making enought sense in the Anime as some of the hint is move too fast to sink in. The reason is so simple yet so spoilery, it almost on the nose but because the magical implication of the setting that it seems farfetch if it wasn't officially delivered.
    The Lungmen Sewer:
This is something has been built up over the character arc of Ch'en, as she belive LGD order can maintain peace and safety for the orchastrated Infected in the city. The thing in this Sewers is in fact a massive pile of Infected corpses from the slum that has been secretly culled away by the Shadows over the year with the help of Lin. This is Ch'en breaking point because she realised that she has been lied to by Wie on how her dream of order and peace are not at all possible and they have been playing pretend to keep her working. This is also why Swire don't want Ch'en to look, because she know what is Ch'en 's drive, what motivate her to be the head of LGD, and this sceen will crack that drive.

everything is correct in my opinion, anime goes according to game main story and this ending foreshadows next season which will be absolututely insane in my opinion especially chapter 8

she is not regret following tallulah, she never follow tallulah, frostnova never have regrets, the only reason she is still on reunion because her adopted father (Patriot) still there, she said it while on ruins with docs, and patriot & tallulah relation in reunion is like "nakama" (comrade)

Chernobog IS Ursus city to begin with. Lungmen is Yanese city. Essentialy crushing one countries city into another state's city is basicly an act of war. AND you cant really atack them to stop the collision without repecrusion (mainly a war declaration). So there's that

I think one thing that anime kinda skipped over is showing Frost Nova didn't believe in Amiya's resolve. She thinks it's impossible and naive to achieve. then as an example, she poses herself as the challenge to Rhodes Island. That's why she said that she would join Rhodes Island if Amiya and co can prove otherwise.
Also, the anime kinda nerf how gruesome Lungmen chooses to deal with infected. Yes technically we only see the aftermath in the game story but showing it instead of subtly hinting at it in anime can give more context

Yeah, the same 8 episodes for a second despite having much more material to cover. Sadge.
Since they didn't announced next season (yet), there is hope that it will came out more cooked than first two.
Or they can even take their time and adapt one of the of stories that is related to whatever has happened before this whole arc, to give more background to what comes next in season 3.
    Hope dies last.

This is why I hope the next adaptation can get 12 episodes at least. 8 episode is really rushing it. This episode on the game is worth 2 hours of reading, that's not even counting playing the game. Frost Nova is the REAL challenge in early Arknights

wrap up? Too early to wrap anything up. They only show the one side of the event. Season 3 will explains alot more. They also want you to play the game if you cannot wait.

I knew 8 episodes are far from enough to cover Chapters 5 & 6 in-game, it's so rushed, especially the last episode. It also ended abruptly, and the very last part of Chapter 6 got pushed to the next season.
