For just a moment at the beginning, I thought the second opponent had a massive red and yellow striped crossguard. Out of curiosity, do you recall if the Sigi rapier is Short, Medium, or Long? I've been told that the fullered version is a bit heavier but I'm curious how much of that you actually feel. Thanks for the vid.

Thank you. My rapier is the longest version they offer. Though I was surprised to realise I had opponents with even longer rapiers.
I have access to the Sigi standard blade Long version as well and the fullered one is and feels heavier than it. The mass difference is not much but the mass distribution is more forwards compared to the standard. I personally like it and do use a lot of cuts and attempt a lot of binds.

@@AngelChernaevHistoricalFencing That's very useful info, and thanks for sharing the footage. Solid posture and some very nice juicy thrusts in there. The tip protectors were just a tournament requirement for everyone and not necessary when you're doing club sparring with your Sigi, is that correct?

@@heirihunziker I am glad I could be of help.
Yes, the tips were mandatory for all weapons. They consisted of leather wrapped with tape and were a total overkill for the Sigi tip. I usually play without putting any tips on the Sigi swords without issues including the rapiers. In tournaments I usually put a bit of red tape but just for visibility for the judges.
