The Lord of Light brought back Jon to unite the north. If he hadn’t raised awareness and united the north, Arya would not have returned to Winterfell. Idk, I half agree. It would be excessive to let Arya get all the major kills and glory, but at the same time I've been wanting Cersei dead for a hella long time that I don't care WHO offs her at this point.
If John wasnt brought back, who else would have been able to gather Daenery, her forces and rally everyone else to fight against the night king. I've been waiting for Daario's return
@@Black182heart that is untrue, the NK had to be unmade in the weirwood same as when he was made long ago. Why did Jon have to be told his heritage when Bran determined? He had to accept he was a prince and heir to the throne before the battle. All the pieces were part of the Hodge Podge Prophecy. Instead of taking it metaphorically fans took it literally.
@Brian Hawthorne, not sure they'll bring back Daario given the romantic issues plaguing Daenerys and Aegon/Jon. Daario could undue everything by acting a fool.
Did no one listen to the battle plans from episode 2? Davos "we'll hold them off as long as we can." The plan was not to defeat the dead with their army it was to stall them while they baited the night king into showing himself by going after Bran. That was the plan but the night king didn't do anything that they expected or planned for. He learned from past battles, Hardhome he watches from the cliffs above as Jon slays a white Walker. Beyond the wall he see's the devastation the dragon fire causes. His army is expendable and can be replenished with the humans they kill. In the end we did kill him but at a great cost, he had many victories in this battle.
It amazes me that some people think the living had some kind of chance. The undead army had hundreds of thousands of soldiers who do not tire and keep coming. And the NK can resurrect anyone who dies to join his army, he essentially has an endless army. There is zero chance the living could win without killing the NK, I don’t care what strategy they had.
Jon was brought back to win the Battle of the Bastards and take Winterfell from the Boltons. The Boltons would have had no chance against the NK but Jon could win the loyalties of the north and Dany. His purpose has already been fulfilled for over a season ago i think.
Good point. But I think his purpose is something bigger. At this point who knows if he or Daenerys will actually get killed. I don't quite remember if the Azor Ahai theory has been named in the Show but if it did, will it be fulfilled in some way? That's my only problem with Arya killing the NK, otherwise I loved that episode 100%. The Valonqar prophecy will with no doubt be fulfilled, everything has happened as of now, but I think Tyrion is gonna kill her, not Jaime; he even said it himself in one of the last two episodes.
I want to know why they didn't just sprinkle dragon glass EVERYWHERE around Winterfell. Like Legos of death. It wouldn't make a difference to the ones with shoes but...eh? Lol

she might get her opportunity come episode 5... I am hoping episode 4 is going to be less intense... I was physically and mentally sitting on the edge of my settee during Ep 3 and I am just about to recover my breath!
But they aren’t gonna set Kings Landing on fire. Did you forget her talk with Tyrion about not being like her father? I do think she’ll send for backup from Daario though. He may of even amassed an army in her absence.
In an act of desperation, Jon is running with the Longclaw above his head to slay undead Viseryon, who breathes fire of the Great Other on him. He screams the name of his brother, Bran, ready to meet the vacuum of darkness, he had seen once, ages, centuries, or maybe just months earlier - he failed - Jon gives up... Something is different. The pain and exhaustion of battle are still here. The stench of mounds of corpses is still here. The cold of snow and blizzard is still here. There is more. Beyond. The heavy, fiery and almost unbearable warm in his heart arises. Aegon opens his eyes. Dark sky above, destroyed walls of Winterfell around, undead skeleton of a dragon looking straight at him, as if confused. He looks on himself. Burned leather armour and melted steel chainmail, but his body, his hands, his hairs, all unburnt. Aegon Targaryen swiftly takes his sword from the ground, filled with newborn hope and might and resolve, rushes to the head of the stunned monster and clashes burning valyrian blade right behind the skull...
Oh! I am still not convinced that the best open -field soldiers of Westeros and Essos would be that easily defeated by puppets (the zombies). Even Robert (a man whom turned the seven kingdoms upside down with a huge rebellion) feared them. It does not make sense.
I don't think so... Qyburn was saved by a Rob Stark army... But he found power only with Cersei help. Without Cersei he would still be just a crazy maester... now he is hand of the queen and has all he needs to his studies.
It has a nice Grima Wormtongue ring to it! I'm worried about Qybern since GRRM made a point that the end is supposed to harken to the scouring of the shire.
Been thinking alot about the Episode 8 / 3 disaster and finally realized what may have happened. Martin wrote the first several books of his A Song Of Fire And Ice which caught the attention of HBO's filmmakers. A pilot script was written and the pilot episode was filmed. Everyone's efforts turned out and the series was on. At first, the storyline was based on Martin's books. Initially, the characters were fleshed out and mostly interesting. The core storyline was based on what lay north of the ice wall. The first scenes of the pilot episode laid that foundation. The secondary story concerned the intrigue and plotting and killing of the game of thrones. But, the game of thrones is just that a silly and violent game that distracts us of what lies north of the wall for each one of us ... our death. Time passed and the story continued to be told (mostly as Martin had written it) until there were no more books. At that moment, Martin negotiated with the show's producers / writers and they struck a deal. I suspect Martin told the HBO clowns how his story would end and that they could not write their scripts in the same way. So, the show shifted to the secondary plot .... the game of thrones but left out the deeper, metaphorical mystery of the Night King, the White Walkers and the Army of the Dead. This explains why nearly every RUclips channel concerning GOT missed many of their guesses / theories in Seasons 6, 7 and now 8. Go back and review some of the older videos and you'll see what I mean. Also, Martin created this world. He would not have given it away to HBO with two books unwritten. Walt NEVER let go of Mickey. Never.
You're sort of right.. Kind of. Martin wanted to delay the show so he could finish the next book... HBO wasn't in the mood for that. So Martin left most likely because of that. And there are many people who draw conclusions about how Martin hates HBO and stuff.. But most of that evidence is taken out of context. He may not be directly involved with the shows development, but he is still in complete communication with HBO/D&D. In a recent interview, he even said the show was going to have for the most part, the same ending as the books. They had a meeting that lasted hours to discuss the ending. D&D are obviously very fanfictiony... But, the general direction is still what Martin is going for, both HBO and Martin have said this multiple times. Martin has also said he doesnt care what D&D does because theyre adapting his story, so it can be different. I understand D&D suck at creating new stuff (season 6-8) but... They are damn good at adapting an existing story (Seasons 1-5)
From articles that I've read Martin is involved with the spin-off series. I'm unsure if he is writing for the spin off series or just as a consultant. He did say, he wished he'd finished his book before the show caught up.
FINAL prediction after the final war. Lord of the Six Kingdoms will be Gendry married to Arya. The north will no longer be one of the Seven Kingdoms per the wishes of the North. Jon does not want to be king. Daenerys will not take the throne because she will either die or because Jon is next in line. I believe Daenerys (if she lives) and Jon with any living dragons fly away to live a peaceful life as Daenerys suggested they stay where the waterfalls were for a 1,000 years. Jon's first love Ygritte also commented she wanted to stay in the cave with him and stay away from others. I think Jon and Daenerys will leave after the final war is over. Maybe they will go with Grey Worm and Missandei to her island. Sansa will rule Winterfell.
Just throw out all speculations and all logical, built up story. The writers have set us up with a Arya that kills every major villain in GoT. Arya will definitely kill Cersei. Mark my words
But I don’t think they’d let Arya have 2 major kills in the show like that.. I feel like it’s going to be Jamie because their relationship was such a big focal point in the show ya know
n03297 2 major kills? She’s killed tons of people. Pretty much every single Frey, she killed his two sons and cooked them into a pie without anyone noticing! Then fed it to Walder, used his face and killed every man in that house. Not to mention the waif, and every other person she killed. It’s like you Jon lovers forgot, Aria IS DANGEROUS. It’s not just fan service, she trained, she earned it over years. It’s not like Sansa snuck up and killed the night king.

Possible spoiler. Don't read if you don't want to know. The true Night King is a human greenseer in a weirwood somewhere in the north, not an ice avatar. The dragonglass in the heart only makes him neither alive nor dead, like Benjen Stark. That is how he is able to return every winter. The series will end with Jon going north to find him.
They're not that smart. If they were, they wouldn't have totally ruined the show with this feminist, fan-service bullshit of an episode. Obviously its Arya since she's the Mary Sue of the series now. Cersei won't even see it coming. She'll be sitting on the Iron Throne surrounded by guards and it will be Arya out of nowhere again.
Arya is the Mary Sue? Lmao she's spent 7 seasons becoming the absolute perfect killer through her experiences, while Jon learned to ride a dragon in 5 minutes
@@MOGMOGRTI They don't know what it really means to be Mary Sue. Arya, Eowyn, even Sarrah Connor are not Mary Sue. Rey from Star Wars is 100%. PS Jon is Targaeryen, it's natural for him, just like it was for Danny the first time she did it too. Otherwise, they are both guilty.
I think she already lost Essos. She was so obsessed with the iron throne that lost her tribe dragons soldiers to the Night King by trying to fight for the freedom of people whom does not want to be ruled by her. I would be surprised if she ends up with anything by the end of the series. Like the history of Alexander the Great. Whom conquered many places to loose them all and to die poisoned among a circle of traitors.
Where did Miguel Sapochnik go to school? Rian Johnson University? The more it sinks in, the more it feels like a disappointment, especially when compared to Hardhome and BotB’s. The battle plan was horrible. Not sure whether to blame Jon or the show writers. I hope Jon doesn’t plan any more, or Cersei already won. For all his experience he is a horrible commander. Never once has he formulated a solid strategy or stuck to it. Rob Stark was the last good general in the North, and it was all off-camera. Moving forward, for the love of the gods, I wish someone writing this would consider reading Sun Tzu’s Art of War, $5.99 on Amazon. Daenerys is now powerless without the North. All of her forces are gone, except maybe a handful. They sacrificed all her forces, then raised passive defenses? Wt ever-loving f did I just watch? Nonsense. It wasn’t so much poor planning, but poor plot-driven writing, as it was intentional to give us this drama. Now Daenerys will have to get the North to rally behind her. It feels like the show is rushing & changing character arcs that we invested a decade of our lives, and everyone is wearing heavy plot-armor. Jaime, Brienne, Tormund and everyone else all should have died when they were surrounded toward the end of the fight, realistically. Not that I want it, just prefer realism over romanticism. In the time it took him to walk to the god’s wood, there is no way they could have outlasted that swarm. I remember Hardhome. If I wanted LOTR’s, I’d watch that instead. I loved this show because of the mantra, “No one is safe” Now meaningless. Depending on how lazy the rest of this show pans out, probably not gonna bother with the prequels. Think I’m just going to stick with the books. A Star Wars trilogy might be a perfect fit for Dan n Dave. Directed by Miguel Sapochnik. Produced by Rian Johnson.
let's not blame Jon -- he's written this way. They dn't understand the message that's being sent. So, your whole comment and argument is with the writing.
I would have been sooooo much more satisfied with a show of proper battle planning that resulted in a sound defeat of the dead - no retreating!! Put the drama in good fighting scenes !!!
Naw gendry new his mom, he met her, he would remember if it was cersei..remember he told Ned about his mom, she died when he was young not at birth..it was his father that he never knew
The show mentioned how the Dothraki were fierce and adept warriers in an open field. The show depicted them out in an open field, which we had not seen before, and we saw how they had met their match fighting the dead.
Do think that we will see The Iron Bank and could they be the ones to twist the Golden Company to Dany's side, fund their enemies as Tyrion said before. That way Dany could also end the Golden Company's banishment (Blackfyre Rebellion)? Part of me thinks they’d like Dany as she frees slaves and the men of Bravos were once slaves escaping the east.
No cause of what Dani did to the rich men of Yunkai. They will support Cersei so they can keep their status and because they fear the Mad King's daughter (a foreigner) and they couldn't care less about Jon (A bastard northman). Cersei will remain in the throne. Only tyrion can flip the cards cause he is better politician than Cersei (If he is allowed by Dani and and Jon).
Daenerys dies in childbirth. John dies in battle, Tyrian (being half Targareon) takes the throne with Sansa as his queen raising the child as future heir. Yes, I'm serious 😉
At this point its pointless... let them just send Arya to assassiate Cersei and be done with it geez... its not like anyone can stop her, everyone can see what she can do, they made her Jedi in GoT universe, she is so OP not even Oberyn or Arthur Dayne would stand a chance.
At the citadel they said that Lodos predicted that the drowned god would rise up and kill Aegon the conqueror. So it seems that Euron may kill Jon... but hopefully it will serve a purpose.
John was brought back to Bang the dragon queen😁. Plant its seed.. and kill the night. king after he comes back for Danny's baby.. YESS.. we ARE NOT DONE WITH THE NIGHT KING.. twisted stuff.. right? 😂.
If you are in the mood for another quick Q& A.....Can you set the current mood for King's Landing........We all recall that the Tyrells supplied most of the food....Are there food riots in King's Landing like during the War of 5 Kings? A lot of citizens saw Cersei's walk of shame, how serious can they take her or her story on who to blame for the Balor's explosion ? Jamie is no longer King's Guard, which makes him the heir to Westerlands. Does this mean the Lannister Army follows him? Is the city on lockdown since many loyal to the Tyrells and Martells and other are still out there....Where is the city getting supplies from? Thanks keep up the good work...
The wights would have killed all of the north, and the army of the undead may have prospered. Everything that has happened, including several murdered family members, were to get Arya where she is. Ned hired Syrio, the first to tell her about Faceless Men to get Arya interested in Bravos. Syrio made sure she wasn't captured, Ned died, now with nowhere to go, she escaped and met Jaqen, who showed her the power of a Faceless Man and gave her the coin. She had to meet Gendry for whatever unborn child is going to finally mix houses Baratheon and Stark, as well as Berrick and the Hound - both of whom were key to her surviving the Long Night. Robb and Cat had to die so Arya wouldn't stay in Westeros. Jon had to go to the Wall AND COME BACK DOWN (hence his resurrection) so he could become a credible king for the fight against the army of the dead. Jon was brought back to life because if he hadn't retaken Winterfell, Arya would have gone down to King's Landing. He couldn't just be a soldier in the army, he had to be king in the north, so everyone would know about him and Arya would feel a reason to return. There are many other reasons, but there's the short summary of why Jon had to die for Arya to be able to stop the Long Night.
I think the Dothraki death charge choice was made to service that beautiful shot of the light of 10,000 fiery swords (or whatever they’re called,) against the pitch black of night mixed with inclement weather as winter chaos moved in hard. You gotta remember that Sapochnik is an artist first: the picture tells the story. I think they also did it to service that growing feeling of immense, dread as we watched the light of the swords go out as were faced with our heroes’ catastrophic losses.
These are his books, he does what he wants with them... and no he made it clear wars were evil...so he can design them as he wishes while making clear they are really no winners but just destruction... All men must die...all you can say to death...is 'Not today!
Martin is a good enough writer that he does research and lots of it. I'm guessing that also includes interviewing former military commanders. He is a student of history and has likely studied many battles to have an idea.
There definitely is a plot twist coming, we literally saw scenes from episode 1,2 and 3 and no scenes from episode 4,5 and 6 in the trailers. What about Dany's vision from the house of the undying with the throne room in ruins and snow falling through the ceiling, and the faint white walker theme in the background.
What if the whole show was sam telling the story to jon's son, a young king who never knew his father because he died fighting, the same way as his grandfather.
I still think Bran is going to wake up from a coma (as a child) and change the future. Or that a blue eyed giant named McGovern is going to wake up due to his alarm clock.
Just because Arya was the one with the most stealthy fighting style, and was the one to get close enough to kill the NK does not negate Jon's utterly pivotal role in this war. Not only did he begin Arya's story arc by gifting her a sword, but he brought the entire North and more, together to fight the great war. If he had not done that, none of what happened would have been possible. Regardless of whether or not he is 'destined' to sit the Iron Throne, with or without Dany, I just don't see why people are saying he's served no purpose after being resurrected. He really has been instrumental in winning the great war, and that should not be forgotten.
Nah, Daario already know what it is between him and Dany. He knows that he was just her man candy for those lonely nights. He will still remain loyal to her just as Sir Bear Mormont did may he RIP.
Hallelujah someone with a memory. It's either that or Tyrion betraying her for Sansa, my money is on the latter but people seem to forget there's one more betrayal to come
One thing that has been overlooked. There was mention of dragon eggs in the crypts of Winterfell in Season one. At the end of episode 3 Sensa is in the crypts staring at something. Perhaps the dragon eggs?
The Dothtraki and ironborn as archers would've just depleted the arrow supply faster than usual. And if they flanked as so many others point out, they would've just died at a different spot. The undead aren't gonna see this charge and retreat. No. They're just gonna charge towards the Calvary right back. They're undead. They do not fear. They do not retreat. They only charge. Seriously. The plan in the show was as good as it gonna get. But personally i wouldve built more of those fire trenches in like a multi circle perimeter, and built them to funnel the dead into a small corridor. Edit: words.
One thing you can always count on in GoT. Sound tactics are never allowed to interfere with story line! No general would have sent them off to certain death and rising as undead.
what irks me most about how they used the dothraki is that they had them charge into the undead like +200 yards away from the castle, when everyone knew they had to play a defensive role

The Lord of Light brought back Jon to unite the north. If he hadn’t raised awareness and united the north, Arya would not have returned to Winterfell. Him meeting Daenerys would’ve never happened, and Daenerys and her army and dragons would not have been in the north helping them, not to mention they wouldn’t have had any of her dragonglass. Armies in the north would’ve been scattered and unprepared. Bran would’ve been unprotected. The Night King and the army of the dead would have won the war.

Let’s hold them off as long as we can by sending in the Dothraki to get killed within 30 seconds, Yh makes sense.

@@EmeraldGemOne I heard the spinoff series was canceled.

The second sons leaving would undo all of what Danny accomplished in essos

I played with my Valyrian steel longsword and dagger in the Godswood of Winterfell while I watched this with Bran, Arya and the Night King...
As for the Dothraki, charging head on into an opposing force is exactly how they normally operate
Because George R R Martin is a writer not a milirary General.
He is not involved with the TV show in later seasons
Mr. Rayagi he didn’t write the material in seasons 6,7, and 8. Everything from season 6 episode 1 was all new writers making their own material.
GRRM would not write a battle this poorly
The night is Dark and so is your TV screen.
Wasn't he brought back to unite everyone to fight against the NK
There definitely is a plot twist coming, we literally saw scenes from episode 1,2 and 3 and no scenes from episode 4,5 and 6 in the trailers. What about Dany's vision from the house of the undying with the throne room in ruins and snow falling through the ceiling, and the faint white walker theme in the background.
Or was it ash falling
What if the whole show was sam telling the story to jon's son, a young king who never knew his father because he died fighting, the same way as his grandfather.
As there's a monument of John in the crypt of his older version of him self, my belief is he will be the rightful king for a long reign
I still think Bran is going to wake up from a coma (as a child) and change the future. Or that a blue eyed giant named McGovern is going to wake up due to his alarm clock.
Jon was brought back to scream at viserion !
Jamie is going to kill Cersei.
Bill Thornton I hope so!! He has to be the one to kill her.
I like the way Theon Grajoy stood the ground it was awesome I almost cry loved it... He didn't have to die
Am I the only one that thinks sending horsemen to fight on an open field is a no-brainer? Let them thin the numbers, and THEN fight defensively
Where was Gendry’s reaction when Melisandre came? I’m pretty sure he wasn’t stationed in the wrong side of the castle lol.
So who is the person to stop Cersei???? That's what it said in the title but I didn't hear an explanation!!!!!
A betrayal for love right? Daario joining cersei would make more sense
Nah, Daario already know what it is between him and Dany. He knows that he was just her man candy for those lonely nights. He will still remain loyal to her just as Sir Bear Mormont did may he RIP.
@@brittney4u932 lmao "mancandy" i havent heard that one before!
She was betrayed by Jorah Mormont by his by his love to get back to his homeland.
Hallelujah someone with a memory. It's either that or Tyrion betraying her for Sansa, my money is on the latter but people seem to forget there's one more betrayal to come
@@JohnnyCatFitz That was a betrayal for honour. Jorah wanted to retrieve is honour by spying for the king.
Literally the hot gates lmao
One thing you can always count on in GoT. Sound tactics are never allowed to interfere with story line! No general would have sent them off to certain death and rising as undead.
I really think Sansa will somehow kill Cersei. It only makes sense..
She’s suffered the most trauma from the Lannister’s. Her and Tyrion.
jai ho or Jamie....
Daario is my second favorite character
It's pretty obvious Varys will kill Cersei. Subverting our expectations.
what irks me most about how they used the dothraki is that they had them charge into the undead like +200 yards away from the castle, when everyone knew they had to play a defensive role
You didnt say who the person was that's supposed to stop Cersei... wasnt that the whole point of this video???
The name of the video is Guess Who? So we're supposed to guess just like always!
@@issbiss11 lol there is no question mark, it's a statement tricking us to believe the video will state who will help Cersei and it's not who we think.... so lame and waste of time. And it's not even mentioned in the video.
@@mikelowry9435 Wish I could send a screenshot. I'm looking at Cersei and a dark figure with a big red arrow pointing at it and a big red question mark next to it and underneath in big red letters says "guess who?!" But yeah I agree - waste of time video. "Not who you think" is obviously who will stop Cersei.
If the unsullied stood in a tight, shield-wall formation then they would of stood a bit more resistant rather than being toppled so effortlessly
Bro i love your videos but did you even talk about your thumbnail i ve watched it 3 times
I Think he did, Daario Naharis
Jon was brought back in order to gather the armies of the living like he did. He didn't have to kill the night king but he was the only reason the living stood a chance because he got everyone together.
