Was hoping this interview might point to why Sam has been so off the pace. Nagging injuries? Family focus? Season off during covid? Regardless, Sam will always be a legend!
I don't think there's any secret. Pagey was quite vocal about last year and the fact Sam had taken his foot off the gas training wise when he was stuck at home during the pandemic and he was no where near fit enough. At the start of this season he had some issues with his asthma which stopped him competing at round 1 and probably some knock on effect from that on training and performance.
I was expecting a good Sam Hill interview - like his training, bike setup, challenges, highs, lows, health of the sport (EWS), how are the courses, etc......but instead we got a Sam Hill overview on current top contenders. 🙁
Exactly my thoughts! Why on Earth would we care what Sam thinks about other riders? We want to know how is he feeelin, why this season wasnt that good for him, will he make any changes, is he stayin on the same team, is he planing to race ews for seasons ahead...?

more than his skills on the bike, Sam Hill impress me for his chill attitude and for his mindset, we have a lot to learn from him!
