Global Mountain Bike Network I think he can do it! Some advice from a top racer will definitely help not to say Neil doesn’t have any of his experience to help him
Will the mates both be riding the same configuration bike setup and bike? The Scott Ransom does have some performance attributes that Blake’s current rig doesn’t. So the ask. I know most folks say it’s the rider and not the bike. Well, that only holds true in certain instances. The Enduro racing at this level can be beneficial through the bike travel, components, and overall symmetry. My money is on the individual with the best overall fitness. Sam Hill doesn’t have any extra, so he can pop and float ALL DAY, letting the bike do the work mostly. Cheers.
i've watched a few SH videos where he's describing how to ride a section. if you pay attention he says 'scrub speed' or 'you were going too fast' into a section, quite often. for a guy who is blindingly fast, he has a physician's understanding of when to brake, how much, and how fast to go at what time for maximum speed over ground. the guy is a genius.
I was going to point exactly the same... hard to imagine that to be faster not always got to take every section at max speed. Just physics and knowledge of your bike and capabilities.
Corner exit speed is almost alway more import then how fast you enter. Braking through the corner results in lower exit speeds. Get your braking done early to maximize cornering traction. Riding fast is about balancing entry and exit speed for the section of track.
This is great, love seeing the master explain his art. One bit of feedback - I'd have liked to see if Blake could stay ahead of Sam by taking the inside lines while Sam rode the main lines.
Yes Blake! Wicked vid. You on the canyon torque, must have seen me shredding mine somewhere and wanted one I reckon. Sam Hill is on it with the EWS, unstoppable. So cool he's giving up his secrets! Love it GMBN, keep up the great work boys and girls!
So crucial to learn these skills when riding technical terrain. It's very easy in places like Finale Ligure to get off line which can not only lose you time but can be a recipe for disaster.
A humble soft spoken man. Let's his shredding do the talking. By the way. I love the backround music. Hey if you ever get to Hawaii, could you autograph my Scout? Mahalo and Aloha
No bother to him, it would be so interesting to see him do an amateur UK enduro. Kinda like Ali clarksons vids on his first enduros.top class riders trying something new is always worth watching 👌
Incredible how he can make something so difficult seem so easy. Amazing. Some say you aren't born with special abilities it's all learned and earned. I don't know... sometimes, imo anyway, I think it can be a bit of both. He just sees things others can't, even other top pro racers
This is the same theory that works in all disciplines of road racing, but it's hard to do when the track isn't wide and smooth. This is super cool to learn about
And Blake spent more time on the trail, and thereby had more time doing the fun stuff ;) There's two different approaches here, and Blake has made videos about them before, racing and having fun. I'm not saying Sam not having fun, but his focus is getting down to the end of the trail as fast as possible. And he's obviously doing a very damn good job at doing that. Personally my aim is having as much fun as possible. And I think riding trails is fun, so I want to spend as much time as possible doing that :) But all things considered, every trail rider can catch something watching videos on line choices, such as this or Ben Cathros videos, and giving the trail you ride a thought, stepping of the bike at times and take walk and look for those alternative lines.
it's just another level, as seen on the first inside clip, Sam is not only on the inside line but also the smoothest line allowing for better grip and braking!
One of the 2 best mtb riders of all time is just talking about braking and taking it steady. Just my kind of ride...now I just need to figure out the trick to let the brakes go. Hahahha
well, none of them will beat Doddy when it comes to repair, hacks, maintenance and other bike related stuff. To find who's the fastest, I think they need to have a real ENDURO RACE or join a local Enduro Race. They can include the camera man, maybe he will beat them hahahahah
Hey Blake. Does the same apply in the wet (UK winter) where, if you dropped off that log and placed a front wheel on a root, it would equal a muddy death?
Is it bad that at the beginning of the video when he’s talking about that first inside line all I saw was that huge French line that just goes straight.
Nice video! I find it hard deciding between inside slower and shorter versus outside and faster but longer. What would be the deciding factor for you guys?
Depends on the track. Tight and twisty = lots of inside line. Longer straight sections = wider lines for greater exit speed into the straights. It's also clear the EWS riders look to ride smoothly to conserve energy rather than go at everything full out
Great job Blake and Sam . Reminded me of walking and talking Observed Trials sections in the 80's, Arms waving everywhere. This sport has the wrong name . should be high speed trials HTS .
Now that Blake's been shown the inside line by Sam Hill can he beat Neil? Let us know in the comments below 👇
Global Mountain Bike Network I think he can do it! Some advice from a top racer will definitely help not to say Neil doesn’t have any of his experience to help him
How about you guys let us know with a video
Still think Neil would have him...

About as likely as Neil beating Blake at slope style after a quick session with Brendon Semunek.
When you think your inside line is the inside, Sam passes you on the inside, inside line. 😎
😂
I see your inside line, and I raise you mine
👌
This makes Sam Hill sound like the Chuck Norris of mtb jokes.
Credit to Blake - easy to feel intimidated by arguably the best MTB rider of all time!
i've watched a few SH videos where he's describing how to ride a section. if you pay attention he says 'scrub speed' or 'you were going too fast' into a section, quite often. for a guy who is blindingly fast, he has a physician's understanding of when to brake, how much, and how fast to go at what time for maximum speed over ground. the guy is a genius.

Sam has such a confidence inspiring voice while instructing. He never comes close to sounding condescending, and is so well spoken.
"use the roots as a bit of a landing" ha ha!!
Fuck if sam hill says to do it im doing it!🤣
I would be hit the tree even before I killed myself landing on the roots
@@iainsomerfield - "use the roots as a landing guide for an air ambulance"
It really doesn't look like Hill is doing much but is really smart in analyzing the fastest lines.
He's definitely one of those riders that makes it look easy, but it'd far from it.
03:01 "Yeah noice!"
best part of this whole vid 😂
This is great, love seeing the master explain his art. One bit of feedback - I'd have liked to see if Blake could stay ahead of Sam by taking the inside lines while Sam rode the main lines.
Would've been cool!
What a privilege to ride with such a beast !!
He is so cool I’ve met him before I’ve been to his house.
So beautiful to see how Sam Hill rides the bike like this 😍
Love the vids keep it up from Australia myself

Well done Sam in winning your 3rd EWS title in a row..inside, inside on flats....
Is he sponsored by Chain reaction cycles? I cant seem to figure that out.
NWM haha, thanks dude. That was sarcasm though...
No hes actually sponsored by holiday inn!
hoping to help you figure it out- he IS sponsored by CRC & Mavic while we're at it : )
Nah man, you got that wrong
No that's just the British version of every single road cyclist being sponsored by the post office lol
Watched this 3 times already... Quite possibly the best GMBN "How To"!!!!
That's awesome! You going to try some of these techniques on the trail?
Sam Hill, a mnt bike legend! He brings the sport to another level..
Awesome video Blake. Will get you racing an EWS one day, You Vs Neil?
And the confidence to get so close to trees.
while in the air lol
Yes Blake! Wicked vid. You on the canyon torque, must have seen me shredding mine somewhere and wanted one I reckon. Sam Hill is on it with the EWS, unstoppable. So cool he's giving up his secrets! Love it GMBN, keep up the great work boys and girls!
So good!! More Sam Hill!!
So crucial to learn these skills when riding technical terrain. It's very easy in places like Finale Ligure to get off line which can not only lose you time but can be a recipe for disaster.
One of the best videos Blake has done. Nice work.
A humble soft spoken man. Let's his shredding do the talking. By the way. I love the backround music. Hey if you ever get to Hawaii, could you autograph my Scout? Mahalo and Aloha
What a awesome day to ride with the legend himself! Nice 👌😎💪
Blake should race an enduro.would be a cool vid.
You think he could handle it?
No bother to him, it would be so interesting to see him do an amateur UK enduro. Kinda like Ali clarksons vids on his first enduros.top class riders trying something new is always worth watching 👌
actually it would be really cool to see a good rider like Blake entering a new race format. MAKE THIS HAPPEN haha,, Cheers
Martin Cantwell Neil is doing the final round.
“Take the inside, don’t need to try as hard”🥇
Incredible how he can make something so difficult seem so easy. Amazing. Some say you aren't born with special abilities it's all learned and earned. I don't know... sometimes, imo anyway, I think it can be a bit of both. He just sees things others can't, even other top pro racers
Very insideful. Thanks!
Aha! 😬
Corner APEXING 101
CHAIN WHIP ENDURO fast boi
Blake, would be really good to hear about your experience on the Canyon Torque? How does it descend, climb and compare to your Mega?
Omg...i am a big fan of this man
This is the same theory that works in all disciplines of road racing, but it's hard to do when the track isn't wide and smooth. This is super cool to learn about
Wow, great tips here!! They make that rough-ass stuff look super smooth.
Wow.... from a video on how to change wheels to line choice with Sam Hill? Well done! Keep it up!,,
Thanks Att Laz!
Man shouldve been a 30 min video. But i love it. Sam Hill master of inside lines.
Rad socks Blake!
Jean Cena wheres your profile picture?
Awesome vid like every time
I’ve learned something new for my riding kitbag. Awesome 😎
“Have you ever wanted to ride like Sam Hill” has anyone ever said no?
Not sure why they would!
Masters on flat peds
Another great vid. Keep them coming!
Ooooooooooooooooooo Blake is riding the torque🤙🏻💪🏻👌🏻
Great video all the way from aus!!
And Blake spent more time on the trail, and thereby had more time doing the fun stuff ;)

Would love to have seen timing with Blake on both inside and outside lines for comparison.

Blake's body language and tone makes him sound like he's talking to the Queen of England.
Great video GMBN. Know wonder Sam rides with bush guards on, cutting the corners that close he must have had a few knuckle raps.
This is great content! Love Sam
my two favorite racers in the same video!
edit Neil donoghue oh no oh my God I forgot Neil
Oi oi......Shred it..🤘
this guy simply the BEST dher ever
What‘s an „insawd lawn“?? Just kidding, great video! But Sam‘s accent is a piece of work for this non-native speaker…
Still easier to understand than Bryceland's accent.
Mate hes a fellow aussie. I can understand him perfectly.
yeah, it's still ok...
@@thiagogabriel539 do bryceland speakes English?
Whats a Pflugshaupt? Just kidding..
Keep it Steady
Thanks for the inside-ful video XD
Great vid guys!!!
why is he so chill :DD
iieewwww should be an 1 hour video
Calvin on GMBN Tech, Sam Hill on GMBN. No way to top that.
We trying to give you guys the best we can!
Sam Hill - "I'd probably go further inside than that...'
Awesome, great tips from the master of inside line. Hopefully, blake can beat neil
LohelyoDulnu1 .....what about Doddy

Legend!
Great video!!👌
Sams the man!
Sam basically just plows straight down the mountain, ignoring most corners haha
Hell yeah Br3h, shreddin the gnar! I have 20 bucks on Blake winning!
Bold bet!
who else is an aussie
As a fellow Aussie Sam is such an inspiration to me. Seeing him speed through corners and how skilled he is. Just awesome
Me mate
Love this vid.
It’s like watching Neo from the Matrix on a bike!
Nice wow
The boss!!!
The choosen one 🙏
"Super Nice"
Hey Blake. Does the same apply in the wet (UK winter) where, if you dropped off that log and placed a front wheel on a root, it would equal a muddy death?
Not necessarily! Depends on your tyres, angle of entry and how muddy that root is.
Do a 4x race! Blake vs Neil vs Jess vs Doddy!!
legend!
Nice bike Blake
Is it bad that at the beginning of the video when he’s talking about that first inside line all I saw was that huge French line that just goes straight.
Can you do a bike check on blakes torque
Good to know
Straight is great!

Is that the blackcomb area in whistler?
That’s the inside of the inside of the inside.
"You can use those roots as a landing..." said no one ever....except Mr.Hill.
Anyone know what brand shorts sam is wearing? Also the helmet?
WHO DOESN’T LOVE SAM HILL!!!
His competitors
I mean “who doesn’t love Sam Hill that not join the competition”
😂
Great job Blake and Sam . Reminded me of walking and talking Observed Trials sections in the 80's, Arms waving everywhere. This sport has the wrong name . should be high speed trials HTS .
What saddle is Sam using on his bike? Looks like a Specialized Power Saddle or Shimano Pro??
First from Philippines 😁
Sick
Brilliant.....could also be fun. Whats up with only 8 min????? 😂😂😂
Yes.
No.
Maybe
ДА! 👍🏻
Is Sam Hill the God of modern enduro? :) :)
Sam the Insider :)
I definitely tend to follow the natural flow of the trail. No wonder I'm so slow....
Well, you have some new techniques to try hopefully!
that's why he uses guards
all the leaves
and branches he hits
6:51 I thought you were going to say that was so inside-ful
