Hello! Thank you so much for sharing these videos! Do you have any troubleshooting tips on the thread tension of all three parts? Also, is it possible to adjust the stitch width? I found your video about the settings for the stitch length but I was hoping I could change the width as well.. 🥺 Thanks again! 😄💕
Thank you for the awesome comment! It's possible to adjust the stitch width, but you must move the whole knife mechanism, and I am not sure how exactly to do it correctly. This is the reason why I don't have videos on this topic. About the thread tension - I don't know how to explain it in a video. All the settings may vary depending on the thread thickness and the different fabrics which you will sew. * This is my answer to another comment, about the tension. Simply you should look carefully at the seam. On the top side of the fabric, there will be the upper looper and the needle thread. On the other side of the fabric, you will see the lower looper thread and the needle thread. The needle makes only straight stitches so the needle thread is the straight left line on the top side of the fabric (the same line when you turn the other side of the fabric). The looper threads are triangular/drops shaped. You need to see (onto the seam) if the threads are too loose or too tight and adjust the tension dials. You can use different colored threads and see the results on the seam. * The upper looper's tension dial is that onto the right side of the machine. The needle tension dial is on the top of the machine and to reach the lower looper tension dial, you should open the door/cover on the left side (near the hinges). ** Another thing to know - (It may be working only for me), but my needle tension is very tight when I try to pull the thread, from the tension dial (NEVER PULL THE THREAD FROM THE NEEDLE) I have a feeling that it will break, so you can try to tighten the needle tension dial.
Hi, It depends on how often you are using it. I use mine once or twice a month, so I oil it every time before sewing. Meanwhile, the oil is slowly drying off. After I finish sewing, I am cleaning the dust. If you are using it every day, you may need to oil it every day, or once every 2 days. The dust and the fiber particles will soak up the oil, so you have to oil it every time after cleaning. According to the instructions, if the machine is in constant use, you have to oil it once, every 4 hours. Frequently the lubricating, the less wear on the metal parts. But if there is too much oil, it will attract more dust and you have to clean it frequently. So you have to see how much you are using it and find the right time to oil it. The flywheel should rotate smoothly, and easily, without making any noise. I hope this advice can help you to figure it out.
Can you also make a tutorial how to change the blade, and where to buy it? I just wonder if its easy to look for its parts in the market. Thanks in advance.
I never had to change the blades and I don't know-how. I will definitely do a video if I find someone to teach me, but I can't promise when. This also relates to the stitch width.
I guess you have to be able to find belts in any length you need. Did you try to push the motor toward the machine before placing the belt? There are 2 screws for sliding the motor closer or farther away from the machine just above and under the motor sheave.
It is Meishi GN1-1. But you can search for "overlock gn1-1". There are many different brands with the same model. I bought it second-hand from an online exchange site, so I can't help you buy one.
This overlock doesn't have an oil pan. It must be oiled manually from time to time (I lubricate it before every use). I use regular oil for domestic sewing machines and drop one-two droplets in each hole.
Make sure the thread is not old and weak, then check if it's not too thin (you can try using another spool). If the lower looper (the back thread) breaks, check if the machine is threaded correctly, there is a little hook inside, where the lower looper thread must be attached to. If the thread keeps breaking, check if the tension is correct. Hope you fix the problem. I know how annoying it can be.
Obrigada pelas dicas.
Estou conseguindo aprender muito com vcs.

Can you please make a tutorial on how to regulate the stitch length and width?

Hello..thanks for sharing..can you teach..how to change blade?

@@ArtOfClay ok thank you
THANK YOU
Disculpa mi ignorancia lleva aceite abajo gracias
Can it be use to do all types of weaving
I'm sorry, but I'm unable to answer the question as I don't have enough information on this topic.
Good day pls my overlocker is not sewing well do you have any idea why
Hi, please is there a longer belt, mind don't seem to fit in after loosening

Please can you make a video about how to change stitching style? I heard it can be done. Apparently you can also use 2 threads and also 4? Is it true?
I think that it is not possible, but I am also searching for this information. :)
What is the name of the machine an can I buy one
