I am a weirdo and I love to do machine maintenance! A friend received a machine from a friend. She told me it didn't run and was so loud. I checked it over and it was FILTHY and hadn’t been oiled maybe never. She was amazed at how well it worked and how quiet it was. So satisfying!!

As always Shae, such clear instructions, and helpful to know why cleaning more regularly helps with its functionality, and listening to the ‘heart beat’ of the machine to know it’s running smoothly. Thank youuuu

What about my home machine and changing oil? Do basic 200$ machines need oil too?

I, too, am curious about your take on cleaning home machines, Shae. What changes when you're working on a domestic machine? Thanks for the videos!

This is great! I have a domestic machine at home but am taking sewing classes in a college where they are all really old industrial machines. Might be fun to peek under the hood sometime and see how they're maintained!

Just got my first industrial machine Juki 8100e. Good to know what to look forward to when the time comes to clean.

Thank you. I have a pfaff industrial machine and this was helpful instruction to clean the machine. I clean the basics but wanted to go a bit deeper. Ive had mine about 15 years. It does not have an oil reservoir. Any additional tips for that type of machine? The oil is not yellowed. Its still clear.

How often should you clean your machine, without changing the oil

You’ll know when it needs it, I personally use canned air and Q-tips as often as once a week to get little bits of lint and thread out of all of the small moving parts, as well as removing the throat plate to get under the feed dogs

Where is the bobbin case in this machine?

It is vertically directly below the needle and throat plate underneath the machine so you have to lift the machine head to see it or just feel underneath with your left hand and there’s an opening.
