- "The Rookie" is a 2018 crime drama television series created by Alexi Hawley. The series follows John Nolan, a middle-aged man who pursues his dream of becoming a Los Angeles Police Department officer after a life-changing event. The show is inspired by the true story of the oldest rookie in LAPD history.
