  • This is the last video in the series describing an issue with the spindle nut upgrade on the China 6040 CNC machine. You will have to purchase a new solid nut and drill for your new stepper motor.
Special thanks to Vince at eDealers Direct...

Why did you keep the extruded base? your new solid base is much stronger and you will gain 22 mm of extra space in z travel

Thank you for the videos! I have the same CNC, so all yours videos very usefull for me. Did you install supporting rails to add more strong for Z axe?

Thanks for the comment, I have not supported the back rails yet. I have been trying to see how far this machine could be pushed beforehand. I plan to video the gantry upgrade in the near future.

Hey rick I have this machine also. Do you have a nut on the bottom of the z axis ball screw?

You would have to measure your stepper motor shaft as well as the ballscrew diameter and order a solid nut to suit. I simply did a search on Ebay for solid coupling nut and selected my sizes from the list. I ended up with a 6mm on one side and 8mm on the other to fit my machine. Each machine may be different. Thanks for the comment
