    Azure canning jars even though made in China seem to be thicker than the popular ones made now. Also, I have learned not to buy jars that come with the lids and bands. Because they may have been exposed to hot temperatures, they may have sealed on the jars and I have had many failures when canning. The gray plastic ball lids used for storage and say leak-proof will not fit the azure canning jars. Those jars have thicker rims, but can be used for canning.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  4 дня назад +5

      Good question and no I have not but in our regular daily reading I came across this verse I had forgotten about not about a specific herb but I love that last part:
      Ezekiel 47:12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

    It’s very common for herb texts to give contraindications and warnings. Do not take if you’re on blood thinner, if you’re allergic to a certain plant family, if you’re pregnant or trying to get pregnant, etc. The herbalists, I feel, would use this space to indicate a conflict between herbs. The fact that I’ve never seen a single such warning, as far as I can remember, supports your conclusions about this. I think if any herbs inherently clash in a dangerous way then that’s exceedingly rare!

  • @AcornHillHomestead
    @AcornHillHomestead 4 дня назад +1

    I buy my jars used all over the place. Never had an issue and some are quite old. A doz new qt jars locally is $23. Not paying that when I pay 25-50 cents per jar used. I’m not happy with For Jars lids and stopped buying them. I have opened so many jars that have significant rust on the underside so now I just buy the deals of most other brands.

    Good Morning! Omg Heidi watching this made me think about a forgotten made product. I made Lemon Balm tincture from my fresh lemon balm using 100 proof vodka in May. I have not strained yet😮. I believe should of been left to set 4-6 weeks. Yes, I did shake like suppose to for first two weeks and kept in cool dark place. Wondering if it is really still good to use? Any idea? The jar looks ok.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  4 дня назад +3

      Yep, it should be great. I always leave my tinctures and extracts until I am actually ready to use them, that is when I strain. They will not spoil, especially in vodka, but they will continue to get stronger until all that can be extracted has. My minim extraction time is no less than 2 months and longer whenever possible

    • @kleineroteHex
      @kleineroteHex 4 дня назад +2

      I've been literally begging other channels to look at the newsletters, and prepare their viewers, so they would know what to do and not panic.
      I must admit that, watching the pictures of this thing, I AM getting sacared. And I've known about it coming for over a dozen years!
      Survivors will be reduced to eating weeds, grubs, and insects. Those will be the lucky ones.
      Volcanic ash will be worldwide. People need to know how to live in a world of darkness and gloom for over 2 decades in some places.
      I am in tears as we are running out of time to help each other. I gues the near future is too horrific. I don't know why I keep trying. People simply do not want to know.
      Those who read will understand why cities and forests are found under water. Why ancient civilizations just disappeared. And why thousands of people lived in caves and underground for years.
