I dont understand how anyone could like something else better when it comes to sound. Its deep its not obnoxiously loud. It just sounds tough.
MAPeformance Street is just as good if not better
Borla always makes a good aggressive exhaust that's never over the top, damn i thought i'd never like the sound of a 22 wrx until now
Borla makes exhaust systems while others make a "metal thing" that goes where the pipes and muffler should be!
I am proud of what David and his father has done for this industry and kept it in the USA.
DK, Omaha. ASE Master Tech since 1978.
I still get Horse power bumps on my skin, with patriotic fuel in my vanes when done correctly as Borla has been doing shaping pressure waves into mechanical music.
I have spent more time under a vehicle than most people do in a drivers seat going forward!
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! We will be sure to relay the message.
@@borla Well thank you. I truly mean it, as no one should never stop learning. I am not a scientist, but enjoy science and it's disciplines.
I am not an artist or designer, but enjoy drawing seat upholstery, door panels and center console.
I am not a seamstress, but will sew my seats & door panels for my old pickup.
I am not a fabricator, but design my center console and air distribution box in my 67 C10.
I am no longer employed to make my living from my tools, hands & head, but did it for decades w/o the benefit of trade school, but I felt I made a darn good repair tech.
I am not an "LS" expert, but studied and learned about what works and what to buy & avoid.
I am not a 4L60 auto trans expert, but leaned everything about it and took 2 months to install the best parts, practices, updates, captured check balls and modifications to make it work great w/600 HP, but only 370HP will make it last decades.
If my job was to hand dig a trench, I will make it with straight walls, level bottom and exact length.
I am not an exhaust specialist, but learned about pressure waves, back pressure and tuning with the knowledge of materials... but Borla Performance Industries does. So I chose to make intelligent decisions and when ready as I save my dimes & nickels, then I will turn to Borla for products to fit my 2 1/2" twin exhaust. According to David Vizard's calculates volume range should be place my back pressure low and produce what he calls "Mechanical Music" and purchase (LS Create Engine Mufflers) the products that fit my last truck as I turn 65.
I can't move as I did from 7-9PM at the dealer with my friend D. Cook to provide for our families.
GM's Grand Blanc facility had Delco on the 3rd floor, and they were curious how out of 56 field people holding tech seminars, my numbers where large and growing with 88-114 (Rockford, I'll. kicked behind) and others were loosing numbers or cancelling. 4hrs of technical info, custom slide shots, screen captures off my TECH2 on new vehicles and not in the book. They sent the Chicago GM training center to a DesMoines seminar on A/C controls, sensors, software and actuators. No one else was doing this. I put it together by myself without (SPO) Grand Blanc's knowledge. Others covered normal A/C which is old news. But software strategies, photos of parts like the Corvette, was all new, blinking dash snowflake, diode bias and why, lab-scope screen shot showing 180 Vdc induction, etc. Fun stuff!
December passes quickly as many use vacation, but tell everyone at Borla has a Retired ASE tech says hello, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Kwanzaa, ...all have a great safe time with family & friends. Never forget those in service for our country and the families who have empty chairs. God Bless! Best to David & his father if still with us, and the Borla family, workers, janitors and all...

I happy with my borla exhaust on my STI
Truly the best sounding exhaust on the market! Running it on 2021 WRX.
Great job Borla!
Thank you for your support!
When it comes to aftermarket exhaust systems, Borla never disappoints. Exhaust sounds can be very subjective and Borla has always had a signature sound, and it’s the Borla signature sound that made me a returning customer with whatever is sitting in my garage.
I installed the S-type on my wife’s Explorer ST and absolutely love it! Just bought a ‘23 WRX for myself and really want to do the same with black tips. Sounds incredible! Nothing but Borla for me.
I was looking at the ETS extreme cat back. But no. This is the one 😍
Man that sounds sick! I need one to review!
Even stock is better than the VA. The 2.4 is something special.
I miss the whistle of my VA when I drive my VB
VA sounds way better. But that's just imo
@@ronaldcosenza4370I do like the whistle
Agreed
Thats if it has the sti exhaust
Love the Borla Exhaust, had it on my 5.0 and hopefully I will get one on my WRX
Thank you for your continued support!
The VB chassis got that grunt.
Sounds amazing for sure.
If add an aftermarket J pipe to this exhaust will the drone free no longer be drone free?
That sounds freakin’ amazing. Do I have to tune my engine for this exhaust or can I just bolt it on my stock car? I might have to make this the first upgrade to my sapphire blue ‘22 WRX.
Hi! A tune is not necessary to install this Cat-Back system on a stock car.
can’t wait to see how a 22 si sounds
original
Borla exhaust sounds like the mach 5
I really wish you guys would do an exhaust for the Kia Forte GT. I've got a '21 and I've been looking for an exhaust.
Just have a custom exhaust made with the mufflers that's used with this system..easy.
Can you please make a burnt titanium tip option?
I believe i have item 140418 Borla Atak..would that fit a 2022 WRX @Borla Performance Industries?
Hello unfortunately, part# 140418 only fits and is tuned for the 2011-2014 WRX. Part numbers 140907 and 140907CB fit the 2022+ WRX
When will this release!? 🔥🙌
Hi! We are aiming to have the system released by the end of December. If you’d like to be notified of the release, you can sign up here via email.

I like it! About to order my WRX when everyone can get over the flu :P
Will my wrx make popping sounds when shifting with this exhaust? I think I faintly heard one in the video. Looking at the ceramic tipped one for my black wrx
It will. Depending on how much you let it tach up before shifting. Mine does it when you push the clutch in from time to time around 3 1/2k shift points.
@hockeypenguin7532 you have this on a 22 wrx? Is it livable for daily driving
@@JoshDillon-lm3hw 110% I was a little worried it wasn’t going to be after I bought it. But it’s seriously only loud on cold start. Zero drone on the highway or regular put around unless you’re hauling serious ass in 5th gear.
Decibels data? Warm idle and 3000rpm
Hello! We do all of our testing using the SAE J1492 test standard. The stock exhaust averaged 74.1 decibels and the Borla system averaged 86.3 decibels.
Cold start DB levels?
Yes, would like to see a db meter cold start
Lol it's pretty loud 🤣 makes my garage shake. I don't have DB level numbers but I assure you it's mellow once it's warmed up.
@@RJWebber You have this already? Their website doesn't even show it yet. Development car?
@@lannym yes, my car was used for R&D. I'm actually the second person to receive this system before the release.
@Chris G it's very consistent throughout red line. The stock system sounds very muffled compared to the borlas. Also drone is very minimal compared to the stock system.
So the S Type has no drone??? Why can’t I buy this now? How much longer?
Hi! Our system does not drone. The system has not been released yet, but we are aiming to have the system released by the end of December.
@@borla okay thanks 👍, I’m ready to purchase! What’s pricing going to be?
@@borla Has this been released yet?
@@chrisg5101 🤣 the price is laughable though 🤣 Screw Borla!!!!
@@hahaadventures4838 Tbh if I get a one these, I would be waiting for AWE's exhaust. The one for the new BRZ/86 sounds amazing.
You can pick up a resonated Remark system with 4” tips for $1,000. A way better deal and for a comparable exhaust system!
Disagree. Borla quality and R&D is second to none. Their no-drone is the real deal. They likely spent many hours tuning the sound both with CFD and then on a real car before manufacturing the system. Remark doesn’t have the bandwidth to do this.
@@SuzukiKid400 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its the first time I think a Borla exhaust sounds like complete shit, like literally someone fter taco bell. How can you charge 2k for an exhaust and have a leak...
IDK. It sounds a little "farty" to me.
Don't even sound like a Subaru
New motor , new sound. Equal length headers , more power more reliability, less boxer growl. I would say it's worth the trade.
you mean it doesnt blow head gaskets and rob power?
dosnt sound sexy at all to me.. its just loudness, no real tone in my opinion
Holy sounds like crap needs uel
My S type sounds way Better 😂
You also have a less reliable and less capable engine . The trade off for less rumble is worth it .
Sound hideous 😢, the OG boxer thump is gone..
I love how it eliminates all the best parts of a horizontally opposed engine. Just so we are clear I am being wildly sarcastic. Sounds boring as fuck
Subaru changed the headers for 2022. They dont rumble like they used to.
you need UEL headers for that sound. UEL headers rob power and are inefficient...
@@novanogo07 wrong. the FA20 VA chassis wrx didnt have UEL headers either.
@@SuzukiKid400 I thought only the STI had UEL? UEL is actually good for turbo setups, just bad for NA.
