Milotic was really used badly, lucario should had been sent against Mr.Rime at the very beggining then Milotic could have dealt great damage against Charizard
A loooot of things in this battle shouldn't have gone the way they supposedly did, first thing being their actual *movesets* being different from their official movesets, second thing being some of the frankly baffling strategy decisions on both sides. Here's a breakdown of how the fight should go using their actual official movesets, and assuming both trainers battled intelligently:
Spiritomb, even now in BDSP, does not know Poltergeist, and so should not have been able to one-tap Aegislash. Spiritomb still has an overall winning matchup against Aegislash though, so I'm willing to accept the way things played out up until Roserade swapped out for Milotic. Cynthia's Roserade, in all but its weakest iteration of her team, being her Platinum lineup, knows Shadow Ball, and has a significant speed advantage over Mr Rime, AND is far less useful against the rest of Leon's team. Cynthia 100% should have suicided her Roserade into Mr Rime with a Shadow Ball, knocking it into the yellow before going down, allowing Cynthia a free swap to any Pokemon in her lineup to finish it off for a clean switch since the rest of her team outspeeds. The best choice is Lucario, who can quickly Meteor Mash and then has a Focus Sash up to guarantee survival against either Haxorus' EQ or Dragapult's Flamethrower. Of those two, Dragapult is the better choice to send out since it's immune to Extreme Speed AND Close Combat, and vastly outspeeds, virtually ensuring it gets the KO on the second turn, even if Lucario lucks out and gets the Attack boost and nails a big Meteor Mash, Dragapult survives in the low yellow. Togekiss comes out, tanks a T-Bolt and KO's with Dazzling. Haxorus comes out, goes for Iron Tail to one-tap, Togekiss smartly swaps to Milotic, who resists it. With no type advantage, Haxorus goes for Outrage, Milotic *SHOULD* Recover on the first turn to help tank the Outrage, knowing Haxorus outspeeds. Ice Beams the second turn, then, if Haxorus isn't Confused(and is probably still standing), Swap to Togekiss to guarantee the confusion on the third and avoid damage. 66% chance to keep his turn and a 75% accuracy move comes out to 50% chance on the dot that Haxorus KO's Togekiss before Togekiss KO's with Dazzling Gleam. Mathematically speaking, Haxorus goes down without KO'ing Milotic, but has a coin flip chance to get Togekiss. This is a critical moment.
Charizard comes out and G-Maxes. Charizard outspeeds both Togekiss and Milotic, AND has super effective moves against both (Max Rockfall and Overgrowth). Since Milotic tanked at least one Outrage, no way it survives an Overgrowth. 1 turn gone. Togekiss, if it did not go down to Iron Tail, however, has taken a T-Bolt, and this is where things get.... a little murky.
Dragapult's T-Bolt, assuming max SpA EV's and IV's, with 0 SpD EV's on Togekiss, dealt somewhere between 39.1% and 46.1% of Togekiss' hp. Max Rockfall, being based on Ancient Power and thus a Special Attack which Togekiss is tanky against, will deal between 50.9%-60%. Totaling these damage ranges gives us 90%-106.1%, a 16.1% possible range, of which, roughly 2/3rds of the time, Togekiss survives and can fire off a move before going down on the next turn. All the best moves Cynthia's Togekiss has used before that are good against Charizard are:
Shock Wave
Water Pulse
Thunder Wave
Shock Wave and Water Pulse are both super-effective, and would deal a reasonable chunk of damage, and Thunder Wave guarantees Cynthia's already-outspeeding Garchomp would have no speed worries here, and may even get a free turn. A mildly damaged or Paralyzed Charizard, especially since it has to use its final G-Max turn to finish off Togekiss, is in a ROUGH spot against Cynthia's Garchomp. Garchomp has a wide selection of moves it has used, with the most notable common moves being Dragon Rush, Giga Impact, and Earthquake. The fourth move slot has moved around a lot more, but moves that crops up several times are Stone Edge, Crunch, or Brick Break. Dragon Rush and Giga Impact are both 2HKO's (unless both they and Shockwave/Water Pulse got fairly high rolls, but we'll assume 2 hits rather than one to finish him off), but if she rocks up with Stone Edge, it's game over and lights out for Leon immediately. Even if she does D-Rush into G-Impact for the win, Charizard needs 3 Air Slashes to win, and he won't even get the second one off, especially if he's paralyzed.
Of course, the story is potentially different if Haxorus breaks through confusion AND questionable Iron Tail accuracy and takes out Togekiss. If that happens, Cynthia's best choice is to bring in Garchomp early to KO Haxorus, leaving Milotic in the back to maybe, possibly help with Charizard.
Charizard comes out and G-Maxes, probably going for Max Airstream. Garchomp still outspeeds and survives the first hit, AND if Garchomp knows Stone Edge(which it should, it offers Garchomp some much needed coverage against the only things that avoid its STAB-Earthquake), it's a near-OHKO, guaranteeing it on the second turn with any move. If it doesn't know Stone Edge, Cynthia likely nails two Dragon Rushes, or a Dragon Rush into a Giga Impact, doesn't really matter, Garchomp goes down to a second Airstream.
Milotic comes out and instantly bites it to Overgrowth, giving the win to Leon. However, it is important to note that Garchomp bringing Stone Edge makes it able to take down even a G-Max Charizard. Leon would almost have been better served to bring out one of his Dragons against Spiritomb to try to draw Garchomp out earlier, but unfortunately for him, Togekiss and Milotic still check them pretty well, since Milotic can just Mirror Coat and Recover through whatever Dragapult does and then lock Haxorus into Outrage before going down and then bringing out Garchomp for a D-Rush to guarantee the KO.
With 100% optimal competitive sets featuring both teams, in some ways, this could be how the battle goes down (ignoring the gross misuse of Milotic), but with their own lineups, I have to say I think Cynthia takes the battle more often than she doesn't, even without G-Maxing or Mega Evolutions or Z-Moves, and this wasn't even considering her MASSIVELY improved BDSP lineup, which I honestly think could 100% sweep through Leon's team with fairly little effort, even if their levels were equalized.

Here is one mistake that would’ve change the results, it was charizard vs rosarade or garchomp, the other player chose rosarade and that killed him, normally, she/the player would choose garchomp over Cynthia and that would end the battle with Cynthia victories.

Watching this after Ash vs Cynthia battle makes this legend. Cynthia's team comp has so much potential and strategy that if not for Ash's power of friendship, she would have won with only 3~4 pokemon taken down

This video gives me Pokemon Journeys anime vibes with all the plot armor in Leon's favor to make him win lol. Cynthia's Garchomp knows Stone Edge and that's literally canon in the BW/B2W2 games
That's true, plot armor in the anime is always a thing!
Indeed plot armour was a thing for Leon but that was only used to utterly humiliate his opponents to reduce the episode timing. That doesn't change the fact that he's the "undefeated" champion for more than 10 years and probably has fought many strong opponents perhaps stronger than those now.

I'm not a pro pokemon player but whoever played cynthia basically fucked up multiple times or threw the match. Leon is a good champion but Cynthia is considered the strongest for quite a lot of reason.

Despite how much everyone likes Cynthia, I have a feeling she would lose to Leon in the anime, the animators never miss an opportunity to remind everyone how OP Leon is.
In all reality you must remember that the pokemon game is much different then the mechanics in battling in show , the champions pokemon aren’t just any ordinary pokemon
(I'm not going in on the slow strats that Cynthia could have used (e.g.milotic stall), nor that she could have started with garchomp to go for an instant sweep), nor the options for tactical switches, nor the moves that the pokemon have (e.g. garchomp rock move).)
There are 2 main things that bothered me:
1. On mister Rime, she shouldn't have switched into milotic. Best to sack the by then useless Roserade and go straight into Lucario.
2. Then on the fight with Charizard: straight away fight with Garchomp. Garchomp has higher speed stat (so even without a rock-move): it would do massive damage before Garchomp's attack was decreased. If charizard is not dead by then: let a completely healthy Milotic finish it, easy clap.
Winner: Cynthia.

Technically, Cynthia wouldn't win canon because she doesn't have Gmax in her base game. Although it is unfair, it's wrong to give her a team she never used (if the focus is being as accurate as possible).
That’s not true because her garchomp Mega evolved in us/um so why wouldn’t she Dynamax in this game? If we are being as accurate as possible, it is more accurate to make adjustments based on the region she’s in since she has historically done that.
@@VirgilHawkinsIs Well technically, Dynamax and Megas are very different in what they do. Megas raise/redistribute stats across the board. Dynamax boosts stats and empowers moves as an extra bonus. Only Gigantamax can redistribute stats. So if you REALLY want to compensate for lack of Megas, you would have to make a Gmax Garchomp with no Max moves.
@@Z0RUK Not really because Dynamax moves have different effects but aren’t always stronger, especially in a competitive environment. There are a LOT of cases of max moves being weaker but you still utilize them for the secondary effect. I think Megas are way more overpowered because Megas come with higher stat boosts in general and boost your attack or defensive power and last until they are defeated (Dynamax and Gmax only raise health) and Gmax only last for 3 turns which can be stalled out pretty easily if you’re smart about it. Not to mention Megas even change your ability and more times than not it’s better than the original ability. So at the very least they should be considered even. Oh and I forgot that in the anime Lance faced Leon and was allowed to Dynamax his gyarados so I don’t see why Cynthia would be any different. It would honestly be more even to Dynamax than to allow Cynthia to use her mega Pokémon.

I do understand what you've said and it has a lot of truth in it but both gimmicks can be very inconsistent on terms of what they do. Some Gmax forms can be worse like the Gmax for Nessa's ace but others are better like Alcremie. And you are right about Megas being stronger and the Lance thing. Overall Gmax can be extremely useful in terms of strategy while Megas have more raw power. Overall, they're both better than Z moves. I just thought it would be more accurate if she never used a specific power she had never been seen using. Remember Lance using Dynamax is the proof not the exception. It's an official appearance in official media. Not a fan creation. This isn't Canon. Seeing as Cynthia never had an appearance like this I just can't really compromise by giving her Dynamax. If you really wanted to be fair and accurate you would make them battle in a place with no power spot to see their team's power. But we can agree to disagree because my fingers are getting numb.

It's objectively wrong to put Poison Jab on a Garchomp imo. Earthquake + Stone Edge (famous Edge Quake combo) is too good to pass for. Then a third move Iron Head seems a good fit to cover Ice + Fairy weakness. Or Outrage instead of Iron Head.
But anyway, the match was great and fun to watch!
@LilDiamondJc there is no edge quake combo, nobody uses stone edge on Garchomp, the only rock type move Garchomp uses in competitive is stealth rock.
@@devilrider39000000 That's a defensive set with Rough Skin + Rocky Helmet. Also very good on Garchomp.
@@TheBestEver1998 Not sure if a defensive set would do any better (Zard's attacks don't make contact). Chomp would have more HP that's about it. It wouldn't have any sp.def investment and has less speed investment. Also depends if u wanna use heavy duty boots or life orb on zard.

What was this battle? Why give items to the Pokémon and how was GARCHOMP slower than a Charizard? Gigantamax doesn’t affect stats.
The reoson is gecause max airstream raises speed and when charizard used that it was faster

All the people complaining about a bias unfair fight, being bias towards Cynthia at the same time rofl. Let’s clear this up Garchomp barely ever uses stone edge in competitive ladders as a blanket set, but let’s say she did have it. Okay Charizard would faint, however the same can be said if that dragapult was a competitive build max speed max attack. It would utterly rip her team apart.

You have done a excellent work VS network,i do undestand you took standard sets ,but still its really wierd to See a charizard defeating a Garchomp,and what was than Dragon move that did So much damage to garchomp from MAX WYRMWIND,and why and how did Charziard attack first,their speed is somewhat(100:102) And still good work ,And not only that,CYNTHIA'S GARCHOMP was shown using STONE EDGE in the anime ,so you can't tell that it isn'nt a viable move for Cynthia's garchomp,well, EVERYBODY KNOWS WHO IS HOING TO WIN IN REAL LIFE
Charizard used max airstream raising its speed that's why it outsped Garchomp, fire fang is also better than stone edge, not even sure if stone edge would even OHKO because charizard lowered Garchomp's attack.

Leon can defeat Cynthia easily because Leon defeated Lance who was a champion in two leagues . Moreover when we see in the anime , Cynthia garchomp isn't even there in sword and shield so it's obvious that her garchomp cannot g max while Leon's Charizard base (without g max) is still way stronger than her garchomp and if he uses g max , it is clear that her garchomp will rest in peace . If there is no EQ in Garchomp we can talk, but not with that. This is so random, then we can find problems with every single existing set. In my opinion, Dragon Move+Ground Move + Fairy Coverage + Swords Dance is the best sweeping set.

Ground/Dragon Moves as Stab + Fairy Coverage + Swords Dance is by far the deadliest sweeping set. Stone Edge is everything but a must have on Chomp which can have like 7-8 moves on the last slot. Swords Dance, Stealth Rock, Fire Fang, Brick Break...

You waste a possible Dynamax Turn of Charizard? That is really helpful in the long Run. And I like the Garchomp set with Dragon Claw, EQ, Poison Jab for Fairy Coverage and Swords Dance more than Stone Edge which is so freakin risky
