- Hi! As the game is finally officially available, I've decided to share my own experience from the game from beginning to End.
I did absolutely everything from the game, recorded all the important stuff. If you don't want to get spoiled althought it's from a game that already existed, don't go on the internet.
I hope you appreciate my videos content, not an easy task to do but I'm here now.

A note about Beni (Wally's ancestor): he mentions in post-game that he wants to settle down at a warmer region since he's getting older. Guess what's a warm region? Hoenn.
For more context: Hoenn is based on Japan's Kyushu region, which is the country's southern islands thus, the warmer islands. Sinnoh/Hisui's based on Hokkaido- the northern islands where it's the coldest.
Frankly, I'm just pleasantly surprised that our beloved asthmatic good boy has *motherfucking ninjas* in his family tree. You have to go back a ways to find them, but...

I love how the ancestors arent exactly like their counterparts in looks, gender, occupation, and clothing. because in truth, our ancestors probably dont look exactly like us, only having some similar features tp us
yep! i love that touch as well. the fiction aspect allows more subtle touches to the ancestors, so thats fun.
Except Ingo, Who I can only assume pulled a Phillip J Fry and became his own ancestor.

i didnt realize that beni was supposed to be wally's ancestor until he sent out the gallade. did a double take at his hair and finally realized. always love some more recognition for my favorite character

I never actually thought of Laventon being Leon/Hop's ancestor.
But hearing how he speaks and seeing other similarities, it actually makes sense.
He is presumably the only character from galar. The way he speaks gives it away.
It may also explain Hop's desire to become a professor at the end of SWSH.

@@itsnathan9131 Yeah I know that, but since Legends is a mainline game, DeNa will surely have some story that involves a Celebi or even Arceus.
For Pokemon, time travel isn't a farfetched plot point at all, just look at Legends for example or HGSS (the Celebi event).
Shows how massively popular Cynthia is that she gets two ancestors in the game.

It’s pretty fun finding out who’s ancestors is who! And then there’s Ingo, who is the same Ingo. This is the one game I thought we wouldn’t see a returning character for, considering it’s in the past, but seeing him here made me smile just a bit.
yea, its kinda sad that he got separated from his family and job and then lost his memories :(

I didn’t expect the game to have THIS much to the whole ancestor thing, maybe just Gen 4. So cool and it adds a lot to the whole origin of the series.
Sadly we didn't get to see an ancestor for Barry, I would imagine a hyper lunatic merchant character trying to fine you

Charm is implied to be the shared ancestor to both Bertha and Agatha. Due to her mannerisms, how she dresses, and her choice of both Pokémon types, and species she uses. Also is stated to come originally from Kanto. For the Alder ancestor comparison you forgot about Alder’s grandson Benji. Who you fight in either White Tree or Black City depending on the version in the postgame. Also Buck seems to have a distinct yellow stripe while his brother and ancestor don’t.

How come one be the ancestor of only one of the brothers? Unless they are step siblings, that's unquestionably.
@@theyounglinker5044 I still think they are related, but Buck inherited traits from the parent who married into the family. That or it is dye like another commenter pointed out. Still his hair is not as afroic like his other relatives.
That can't be an Alder ancestor. Remember that there was already a hero when a space-time rift was made last time. That person, who I say is Alder, is in all clan houses. The guy in the painting has to be the hero.
Put together that it is possible to get dragged through the rift to another time and the fact that the guy has Pokballs draping from him just like Alder (despite the tech just now being invented), and it has to be Alder
@@NicholasSinard Except Alder never had a full on beard or as much wrinkles as the one in the painting. Only a stubble. Nor was his outfit green. Alder wears tannish yellow poncho that is tattered on the edges. Plus while the hair colors is the same the style is distinct to be a different person. Face it, it's Alder and Benji's ancestor.
It should be clarified that the protagonists (the player) is not an ancestor but a time traveler (the cinematic at the beginning of the game makes this very clear)
although the question would be if we are the protagonists of 4 Gen (lucas and dawn)
Shortly after you first enter Jubilife Village, it is mentioned that you are around the Age of 15. If you play as the Protagonist of Diamond/Pearl Lucas/Dawn, who were 10 when starting their Pokémon journey, there is a 4-5 Year Gap that the character could've spent travelling to other regions - explaining the Shirt your character is wearing at the beginning of Legends Arceus.
The game also makes it clear your character has some amount of memory loss, as you were pulled through what is essentially an Ultra Wormhole by Arceus - thus its need to treat you like you've never experienced Pokémon before!
Well, they could still recursively become their own ancestor through staying in Hisui and settling down.

I disagree. Hisuian people mostly come from another region. And remember: Hisui and Johto used to be whole (aka Sinjoh) but somehow they split, become two different regions. Also, the artist clearly makes many characters that look very similar to many NPCs in modern times. Still not confirmed yet, but based on the appearance, we can 80% assume most of the them

When I first saw Beni uncloaked himself I legit yelled "W-wait WALLY!?"
I'm vividly remembering how Sanqua's closet mentions "weird outfits with capes" and I swear to God thats a Clair reference, on top of the gyarados statues she wanted to build on top of the Galactic base being a potential nod to the Dragon's Den.
Yes the capes bit! I actually thought it might be a Lance reference, and hinting at some relation between the two.

1. In one of the side quests, you even find an Umbreon in Sanqua's office.
2. In your early battle against Volo - when you have no access to dragons yet - he has a Gible! (After that battle I immediately went to get ice moves for my party 🤦🏻♀️)
Absolutely love the references littered here and there. Can't believe I didn't register the Gardenia and Rowan connections though.
Edit - To all those asking (and who will ask): Personally, Rowan just didn't leave as much of an impression during my gameplay as, say, the Galactic commanders or the Pokémon League folks. There wasn't anything about him that stood out - he was just the standard issue professor.

I actually think Adaman and Irida are original characters. A lot of people seem to see May in Irida, but I don't think they are that similar, also I think that we would get some kind of reference if she was linked to May.
Also I think Iscan could be Marlon's ancestor but I could be reaching.
Irida resembles Korrina (from xy series) more than May
Keep in mind though that Marlon isn't dark-skinned like Iscan does. He's merely super tan (you can see tan lines around his swimpants and he's quite white). I'm more subscribed to the idea that Iscan is related to Nessa.

I don't know if the game'll have any DLC or anything, but if they end up having like, a Mute Ronin who's Red's ancestor wandering around in it, I can die happy.

You know, it would be great and a little sad at the same time if they added some kind of ancestor related to Ingo and Emmett. So Ingo won’t be really alone. Maybe the ancestor will give him a little hint of reminder about his life before he got transported to Hisui

One character I see overlooked a lot is Tuli from the Gingko Guild. I feel like she's an ancestor of Caitlin (who debuted in the 4th gen) with her sleepy eyes and blond hair.

These are great. It’s all speculation since we know we’ll never get official confirmation, but there’s no doubt for many of them, and I can’t believe I missed some obvi ones like Gardenia.

@@kanedgytheguy8105 Nurse Joy as a character doesn't really exist in the games. All of the nurses have similar designs across the generations, but there's nothing actually relating all of them together like in the anime. Peselle is the head of the Medical Corps so she has the generic nurse design of the series mixed with a character from the Sinnoh games

The protagonist in the games isn’t an ancestor but more so theirselves 4-5 years in the future that got sucked back in the past. Cylene does say you’re about 15 years old and game protagonist in other games are usually 10 or 11. Also pessele could be an ancestor to nurse Joy since she talks about opening up Pokémon healing facility which eventually becomes Pokémon centers which makes Mira a relative to nurse joy
More like the genderbent opposite is their ancestor, if you picked Dawn then Rei is the ancestor, if you picked Lucas then Akari likewise

I'm pretty sure the protagonist is from a world where pokemon don't exist, that's why Arceus explained at the beggining of the game ,,you'll be now transported to a world filled with mysterious creatures ..." Or something similar to this

I really like that they decided to add ancestor of a battle frontier character, it really was unexpected considering that battle frontiers haven't really been around and come back in the recent Pokemon main games.
I'm pretty sure Pesselle is Nurse Joy and I love that. Such a cute detail, would have been cute if she'd have you bring her a Blissey or Chansey as a request.
100 of that leek was hard enough but I consider it as fair, because we get free heal at any other game from her ancestors! :)
Now we know that Adaman is Perrin's ancestor!
I love that Charm is a ancestor to both Bertha and Agatha, using ground and ghost pokemon Rhydon and Gengar. So from a lore standpoint, them being practically twins can now be found in a potential common ancestor
Also about Adaman being Prof. Sycamore's ancestor, while i did see that too, i also thought that Palina (Arcanine's Warden) was his ancestor, as their hair more more closely matched. When i looked a bit further, i think Adaman might be related to Acerola, as they both have a similar hairstyle and they both had a similar hands-on-hip stance.
It's entirely possible that some characters are ancestors to more than one character. Some characters might be distantly related that we would've never known otherwise.

Also because of their names (Agatha is Kikuko and Bertha is Kikuno in Japanese, A and B....) the theory that they are related is apparently not new^^

Glad to see I'm not the only one who immediately made the connection between Arezu, Bren and Coin being the ancestors of the Team Galactic commanders. Honestly my favorite Sinnoh reference in the entire game.

I like how they're taking inspiration from every Pokemon game and not just diamond and pearl.
Anthe seemed so familiar, but then I immediately recognized her descendant. Also, I'm glad they are intertwining the history of past and present. The history and culture of Pokemon are becoming richer and I love that.

I think it's the inverse. With the exception of volo, pretty much almost every one of them is from another region. The clans are not originally from sinnoh after all. They settled there to worship the respective sinnohs.
@@gilldominicmendoza5202 There is a theory that I think is true that the Diamond clan has predominant ancestors to Sinnoh characters and the Pearl clan has predominant ancestors to non-Sinnoh characters. Seems to be true for a majority of them.
many of them aren't from hisui, they even mention that they are JUST settling there. Thats why there's only a handful of small settlements for the clans and the one town in the entire region. Very few people in the game are actually from this region and they others moved from other places such as unova, galar and kanto.
Given how Arceus, who is technically the progenitor of all pokemon, basically originates there, I'm not surprised.
Pretty sure the clans and the guild are Hisui originals, and the team folks are explicitly new settlers.
also charm could be agatha's ancestor, in the arcanine mission she carries a rhydon and a gengar

I have strong doubts about Adaman and Irida being ancestors to characters we currently know-the precedent is a much stronger resemblance than that. And, like another commenter said, Charm is a “common ancestor” to Bertha and Agatha. I also am not totally convinced on Laventon though I think it’s definitely plausible.
(Also, Bren is just the generic design… is Jupiter descended from all the galaxy team girls?)
Laventon is definitely Hop's ancestors
- Same skin color and a few, less noticable physical similarities
- Talks in English, implying he's either from Unova or Galar
- There are Copperajahs in his homeland
While I agree Jupiter is a real stretch, technically, yes, they could all be her ancestors. Depends on how many generations of intermingling families you go. But nah, most likely, probably not.

Thank you for agreeing that Laventon is related to Leon and Hop ! I was told "No this is dumb" but I noticed the details like purple color, tanned skin and light lines on black cloth ... Plus he speaks some English words in the French version of the game I played, English in Pokemon => Galar !
It is still dumb because Laventon isn't even the only dark-skinned Galarian character in Legends. Floaro is the other named one I can think of, and there are a few more.
I actually want Adaman and Irida ended up being together and their descendant is Barry. Irida official concept art resembles Barry's in Platinum, they both have closed mouth angry face + both closed hand fist while personality wise, Both Barry and Adaman are impatient and don't waste their time, both also have brown eyes. It also makes sense that in modern Sinnoh, Barry is the one who guides you on the statue of Eterna City which is the combination of Palkia and Dialga.

Sanqua is definitely an ancestor of Karen, seeing as the eevee in the room she is in turns into an Umbreon, Karen's main dark type pokemon.

He mentions that something reminds him of the Copperajah of his homeland, so Laventon is either from Galar or from a new region. Gen 9 might be inspired by India.

Ginter looks more like Professor Birch, and Charm looks like both Bertha AND Agatha from the Kanto Elite Four. Also, if you think about it, she use a Rhydon AND a Gengar, which both Agatha and Bertha are known users of. I mean, Bertha uses Rhyperior, not Rhydon, but it still fits. Wouldn't surprise me if Agatha and Bertha are sisters as well.

@@anser6500 hop ok sure (I think he’s a far better rival than asshole edgelords like Blue, silver and bede but sure) but laventon being nice to you is kind of the main point of a professor and reminder he’s the main reason you could even enter the galaxy group and live in the town because if he didn’t believe in you, you’d be left to die in the wild

I always think with Laventon that he's the ancestor to both Chairman Rose and Peony I kinda get the friendly dad like vibe from him that Peony gave me as well as Peony's love of pokemon and Rose's love of history
I like how a lot of the connections aren’t just in physical appearance but body language too.
Okay, not all of them are obvious, but not all of those characters are based on another character in the series. Some of them were downright wrong and too original to be an ancestors.

I think that the player is Lucas/Dawn brought from the future. That would make Rei Dawn's ancestor and Akari Lucas' ancestor, and not the other way around.

It's either
A. The non protag becomes the ancestor for the same non protag due to the fact that every game is its own universe and the universe changes depending on what gender you pick and its the same for who the protag and non protag is related to.
B. It's some back to the future type shit and protag becomes their own ancestor
C. The protag and non protag becomes eachothers ancestors. Or
D. Both protag and non protag are the ancestors for dp protag and non protag but the family tree spilts way before dp
I personally like B because it's wacky and protag seems to be stranded in hisui.
Some of these I buy, but some are a stretch. Like the previous Pearl and Diamond clan leaders. As well as Iridia and Adaman being related to May and Sycamore.

I somewhat disagree with Charm's descendant. It says she's from Kanto, and she even has a Gengar, so i find it more fitting for it to be Agatha

Laventon, Adaman and Irida are very large stretch, also you forgot Agatha for Charm, as she basically is direct confirmation of Agatha and Bertha being related, theory that has been teased for years now. Also you forgot Alder's grandson.
Personally I think they picked few characters to just be original characters.

All the other designs and naming conventions are extremely on the nose - having convoluted choices like these don't make sense.

He has different hair, face and body and there is no reference for him to the Pokemon Hop and Leon have. And the last part? If he already moved from Galar, why would he or his descendants move back really?

Just realised this, Team Magma's Maxie is one that looks at progress which the diamond clan and time focus on, while Archie believes in nature's preservation and Pearl clan believing in maintaining the old ways and respecting them so fitting their ancestors are in those clans.
There is also the fact that Dialga and Palkia apart from Time and Space, also represent the states of matter.
Dialga is solid(hence the Steel type), and Palkia is liquid(hence the water type).

Pesselle is also the ancestor of nurse Joy because she is a nurse in this game. Also, nurse Joy is in every Pokémon game and anime.
Sabi is also an ancestor of Hapu, the trial captain of Poni Island in Pokémon Sun/Moon because of her design. If you don’t believe me google it.

Charm is also ancestor of both Bertha and Agatha due sharing the same hairstyles as the them, while also using both Rhydon and Gengar.
Also, one thing I noticed while playing the game (and probably unintentional) there was someone that gives you a side quest and he says “Remarkable!” just like the contest guy in the anime. I think it was showing someone shinx ears or glameow tail quest? I just found that funny.

Nah, they're both ancestors. Yes, the player is Lucas/Dawn but given how both can be potential ancestors since IIRC there is no confirmation as to who got sent into time (though I say it should be Lucas) and the fact that both Rei and Akari are their confirmed names even with the time stuff, I still think they are their ancestors but one is from a more modern time.

I think that Volo is actually an ancestor of Lusamine rather than Cynthia. Although Volo's hairstyle matches Cynthia's, his development over the game and into the post-game matches Lusamine: although both characters initally appear to be allies to the player, both end up turning against them to achieve their own personal goals, and both of them see Pokémon as objects rather than equals. Lusamine also has long blond hair and has it cover one of her eyes, though it covers the opposite eye. It's also worth noting that both characters' plots involving using a Pokémon from another world to interact with another Pokémon from a different world, Volo using Giratina to attempt to defeat Arceus, and Lusamine using Nebby (Cosmog/Cosmoem) to communicate with Nihilego.
