Thanks for making a video for the city officials. I've written to my city councillor who passed my letter on to some bylaw woman who recently sent me an email telling me what the current bylaw is (like I didn't know). I'm thinking of responding to her with some good arguments. Your video can't come fast enough.
Lot's of fun features on the NEO. Let's see what TC and Municipal reps comes up on Oct! What's your guess Mr Joyce? To ease new by-laws or more restrictions? Anyways as always your videos are greatly appreciated and enjoy the weekend. Cheers everyone.
Thanks! Somehow, I suspect there won't be a lot of change from their original proposal, despite all the feedback that was sent in. POSSIBLY the medical requirements for the Level 1 Complex stuff will be postponed....maybe.
We bought the NEO... while many seemed to have a love-hate relationship with them, I found them to be really fun (especially for people who are not experienced drone users). :)
Agreed! The Neo is a LOT of fun...they just have some fine-tuning of some features. Fortunately, DJI is famous for their upgrades and improvements after initial release.
Thank you! There will be at least two MINOR additions to sub250g drone regulations (keeping out of emergency areas and Class F Restricted), but I don't expect anything worse than that in the new regulations.
Nice demo with the Neo, Don. Early adoption always has added surprises. Was thinking on spending my next carbon tax rebate on one, but I think I'll get another Mobula8 instead. Maybe next year. . .
Hi Don. How did you get it to pair with the dji mic 2? I'm about to write my advanced test. Been flying for about 5 years with the mini original, then the avata 2 and now the neo with the dji rc 2. Pairs really well with that remote BTW. Do you think I can use the neo for my flight test?
I connected my Mic2 via bluetooth to my phone. Then when you use the narration feature on the phone app, it uses the mic2...well, usually! LOL. Regarding Flight Reviews, you must use a Registered drone, and you cannot register a drone under 250g. With the Mini 3 or 4, you can add a bit of weight and register them, but you would need to add a brick to the Neo...so, so you can't use it for a Flight Review.
When you control the Neo via the Fly app, it uses your phone mic (or in my case, a paired DJI Mic2), then cancels out the drone noise. Some inevitable distortion unfortunately.
Thank you Don for the update and your "fun" time trying to use the Neo. Hope you have an enjoyable weekend.
Thanks Dave!
Thanks for the update, Don. Also, thanks for including my We-Roll clip at the end. Much appreciated! 😀
You are very welcome, Phil! Awesome footage!
Still pretty amazing sound processing to take the prop buzz out!
It is good, although even the HoverAirX1 did that too. Next will be active noise cancellation at source!

Thanks! I'm working on the explainer video...stay tuned.
🤣🤣🤣thanks Don ya neo needs more updates i had same issues fun though great info updates
Yep...early days, but frustrating to be a fully paying beta tester.
Hi thanks for the update. Always nice to see. I looked on DPAC for the link for municipalities list but don’t see it. Can you please share. Thanks
Thanks! The municipal boundaries, summaries, and links are built into the Drone Pilot Canada app.
109 - ❤👍Great video and beautiful pictures.
Thanks!

I LOVE the focus on municipal bylaws. I'd like to see some flexibility on
Well, you know, these horseless carriages can frighten folks....
Looked good Don, now if it only did what you wanted. Like # 28!!!
Thanks, Dave! Well, maybe if I keep talking to it kindly and encouraging it to behave, it will start to learn what I want it to do....

Hello Don, Always like your videos looking forward to the next update of regulations. Any possibilities that sub 250 gram drones may be affected?
Thank you! There will be at least two MINOR additions to sub250g drone regulations (keeping out of emergency areas and Class F Restricted), but I don't expect anything worse than that in the new regulations.
Same thing happens with my Neo
Yep....update will come with time, I'm quite sure.
From Brampton (close to Toronto). Willing to help with attempting local bi-law changes.
Cool. Please send me an email to DonDronesOn@gmail.com to connect.

How did you keep the drone noise out of your first takes?
The app does it when you use it with a phone.
The audio sounds really bad though.

I didn't find the audio TOO bad, honestly. But, for me it's kinda of a gimmick for the occasional opening or whatever.
@@DonJoyce Yeah, I was actually impressed with the noise cancellation.
Great update - despite the efforts of Nigel NEO to undermine your work.
Thanks Mike. Yeah...a bugs to iron out on Nigel (I like that name...)
