TUNDRA OVERLANDISH BUILD TIRES

- More than likely the last video in the overlandish build series as the general grabber x3 tires were the last piece i felt i needed to accomplish my outdoor recreation needs. Hopefully start focusing on more adventure type content. #Toyota #Tundra #overlanding.
Tire size 33"x10.5"x18
Love this guy. Brings me back down to earth. Some of these channels that show more money into their rig than the truck itself costs is nauseating.
Wow! That is the most positive comment I have received so far and really appreciate it! Thanks for the view and the comment.
Bro., your humble, simple and modest approach is very appealing. People are getting tired of being told to buy this, buy that and its very expensive as well. I know lots of Mall Crawlers with their supped up Jeeps, Tacomas and 4Runners that have never gone fishing or camping.
Bro, i totally respect and resonate with your build. There is probably two other guys that kinda doing what you - bare minimum camping ond overlanding
Really appreciate the comment and the view. Going to try to do more but like everyone else I'm struggling with fuel and time both are expensive
This is such a beautiful truck my bro. I have a 2018 limited with these exact rims. I want to do the same thing. I love the stock rims, I just want to slap more aggressive, bigger tires on them. Subbed 👊🏾👍🏾 looking forward to more content. Have a blessed New Years.
Less is more my man, looks great.
I love that cement grey with the Crome, that’s a nice truck,
Thank you! Appreciate the view and comment
Enjoy your video. Keep making them . 👍🏽
Plan on a trip at the end of the month get some content then. Appreciate the view and comment.
Clean. I just ordered 275/70/18 for my 11 tundra and there about same size. Cant wait. The stock tires are 2 small for tundras
Nice. It sits just right. I want mine like that. Nice job
Thank you! Appreciate the view and comment
I just picked up a 21 tundra double cab 4 x 4. And the way that you have yours set up is kind of what I have a vision for myself nothing too crazy seems just the right build set up. Good looking set up you have there
Thank you! Appreciate the view and the comment! Enjoy the truck
In this video, your truck looks perfect! Too many people go overboard with the lift and hillbilly wheels/tires. I will do about the same as you with mine, but only 2.5" lift.
Thanks! I try to keep the mods practical. Appreciate the view and comment!
I'm also into fishing, hunting & camping. Mines is a 2nd Gen Tundra, purpose built. Not a Sema built show truck.
I have a 2019 tundra .... factory tires suck! Worn out in less than 20k ... so i put on general grabber ATX .... so far, been great!! A little road noise but quite tolerable... excellent in snow/mud. 👍 ... and much cheaper than BFG.
The factory tires wore on me really quick too. Thanks for the view and the comment
@@aor5148 My factory Michelin LTX AT2s are still fine at 7400 miles but I do want larger and better tires but they did really well in the Ohio Snowstorm recently.....with 5 inches on the ground it was almost like I was on dry pavement. I took it out of 4 wheel drive and did totally fine. I only put it back on to used 4X4 because I don't get to use it much.
@@dalephillips8250 I would say if they are working for you stick with them but if you want larger I don't believe Michelin makes oversized tires I could be wrong on that. I would suggest Toyo open country ats in a 33". Appreciate the view and the comment
@@aor5148 Funny thats the exact tire I would go with at 33". I was looking at the "OWL" as model as they are 52lbs and 33.4 inches tall.
Looks great. I have the same exact truck. Totally agree. It’ll get you to 99% of everywhere you want to go.
Appreciate the view and comment thanks!
@@aor5148 Finally scrounged up the cash. You inspired me. I put just over a 2" suspension lift with the Bilstein 6112's and 5160 rears and put a 30" light bar hidden behind the bumper, Diode Dynamics yellow fogs, DD ditch light pods, and DD light pods mounted on the bed rails behind the rear window as alley lights. I powder coated the OEM wheels and wrapped them in 275/70-18 BFG's. I'd like to get rock rails too since there's no contact point for a high lift jack and nothing more. Take care!
I like simple. I subscribed, liked and added a comment. Love the color on the truck. I'm trying to upgrade from a older tundra.
Might want to look into a auburn lsd makes a huge difference! no more one wheel peels on wet days.
Truck looks great man. Good choice .
Appreciate it thank you
I just picked up a 2020 1794 edition and your rig is exactly what I want to do to mine nothing over the top just a more aggressive tire and a leveling kit I didn’t check yet but did you happen to list parts in the description. I’ll check right now .
Thanks for sharing from one average hard working joe to another thanks
No parts list simple build BDS 3" leveling kit front stock height rear, N-FAB RKR Rails with detachable steps and rigid d pod light's. Appreciate the view and comment
I like what you did to your truck ... I also have a tundra (double cab) 2013 w/125k no mods except level kit and a little larger tire . I like the lights and the Nfabs 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thank you! Appreciate the view and comment.
It's more practical really and still looks boss.
thanks man for your honest review. I have the same tundra and need new tires. I was going to buy all new wheels and tires but I like the orginal wheels so I am just going to upgrade the tires after watching your video. I'd rather spend the money on a Bilstein 6112/5160 lift.
Yeah only reason for aftermarket wheels is if your wanting a 12 and half wide tire i believe the stock wheels only accommodate 10 and half wide tires but I really don't think there is any substantial traction increase in the 2" difference that money is definitely better spent in the suspension I appreciate the view and the comment good luck with your build
With these tires can you use the original spare or is the size difference too big? Could you fit this size of tire under there in the spare spot or is it too big?
Stock tire is ok to run as a spare if you choose to by eye ball it looks like the larger tire will fit in the stock location to be honest I don't carry a spare when off roading I carry a patch kit when I'm traveling or hauling ill throw it back on thanks for the view and questions
What is the biggest tire you can Install with stock rims? It's difficult to get an answer.
@@zebrastripes875 33x10.5
Love the content and im with ya on not spending 10k on a truck build.
Thanks! Appreciate the view and the comment
Nice truck brotha... so you hace the PSi Light on?
I just purchased 2019 trd 4x4 with aftermarket wheels and tires and PSi light it's on. They say it was because of the aftermarket wheels and tires .
Thank you
My psi light is operational and usually off-road shops or tire shops are pretty good at making sure that everything works the only thing that Toyota can't do is the recall work on the front grill radar sensor for the cruise control with having oversized tires. Appreciate the view and comment!
@@aor5148 thanks for replying. I will go to an 4 wheel warehouse. It's just around the corner...thanks again 👍🏻
Good insight on certificates. I’ve never had them or used discount but am considering it and had no clue if I really needed it or not
Thank you! Appreciate the view and the comment!
How’s the MPGA with 3 inch lift plus current size tire?
It depends how right foot disciplined you are and how much in town freeway use you have in town I have had as low as 8.5 mpg and as high as 17 mpg and traveling with no trailer load as high as 22 mpg
This Stance is What I want On My 18 tundra! You got. A 3in bds lift? I wanna run a 33 keep my stock rims i dont want my tires to stick out. Did you have to replace the upper A Arms? Thats nice Set Up Man my Buddy Has Those tires n They Are Sick i Like em! Good video
3" Bds leveling kit in the front nothing in the rear. I was just looking for some ground clearance and clearance for the 33" tires the limitation to this lift is off road you need to take your time cause the shocks could bend or break at the bottom so if your looking for off road speed like pre runners or trophy trucks spend the money on a suspension lift. A arms on a tundra are actually a bad idea for this lift as tundra are built toed out from the factory they would only make tire wear worse appreciate the view and the comment
I just liked and subscribed. We have the same truck except mine is Magnetic Gray Metallic. I'm going to learn from you brother. Great truck and great video 👍👍
Thanks! Appreciate the like view comment and sub. Good luck with your tundra
Looks great 👍
Thank you! Appreciate the view and the comment
I have a 3/2 ready lift on my 21 tundra I wanna run 285/75/18 on it so u think i’d be ok clearance wise or would u recommend 275/75/18 to be safe?
As far as height you should be fine there isn't that much difference between 285/70 to the 275/70 but the stock wheels probably won't accommodate the width of the 285/70. Appreciate the view and the comment!
@@aor5148 if I went with the 285/75/18 and a one inch wheel spacer do u think they would clear better?
@@jeremeywright wheel spacers will not help with the 285 it is an 11.5 wide tire the stock wheels are to narrow for the tire you would need aftermarket wheels i would never recommend using wheel spacers for any application
@@aor5148 if I went with 275/75/18 on my stock wheels do u think i’d be ok? Width wise and height wise? Thank you for your help I appreciate it
@@jeremeywright that is what I am currently running and no issues on or offroad
nice...sits up perfect!!
Appreciate it thank you
@@aor5148 I actually just purchased a 19 Limited a couple months ago. Just got my 3/2 Rough Country lift kit on today. Tires and wheels will go on next week I hope! 305/55/20. Wildpeaks AT 3. 20x10 -18 offset fuel rebel wheels
anything done to the rear suspension?
No, stock height. I was just needing to accommodate 33" tires so only the front needed to come up. Appreciate the view and comment.
Nice truck! I'm still deciding on my tires too, thinking of putting BF Goodrich KM3. I want to go big too but is a leveling kit is just going to do it, as long as it doesn't rub. Well your truck looks good! Thank you for the video.
Most lift kit manufacturers will say what size tire the kit will accommodate like my 3" level kit bds recommended 33" tires. So do some research on the lift kit and what it will accommodate. Appreciate the view and comment
@@aor5148 thanks you. I will do more research.
Yes I have 35 on rockstar rims and the dealership did level kit on 2018 crew max
The only thing removed was front mudflaps and little splash guard behind floodlight
What's your mpg on highway? Planing to upgrade from 275 55 r20 on my 2020 tss cm
My Moab trip i got 17 uphill and 18-20 down and alot worse with a heavy foot but that 4:30 rear end uphill is alot of fun getting after it. Appreciate the view and comment
Spot bro 👍
Are those 275/70/18?
Yes they are. Appreciate the view and comment.
what size tires are those?
33's full tire size is listed in the description of the video. Appreciate the view and the comment.
I plan on an buying older 2011- 2014 and adding a large gas tank!!!
Upside to those years you can also add a supercharger. Appreciate the view and the comment GL
What's the actual size? They don't make these in a 33x10.50x18 metric size. I'm guessing it's a 275/70/18.
Your correct on the 275/70 but I believe they do make a 33×12×18 but my wheels are too narrow to accommodate the wider tire. Thanks for the view and comment
@@aor5148 thank you! I am looking to put these on my Titan XD, and my wheels are only 7.5" wide. I appreciate it.
How much tundra
Great job man👍🏿😊

Lift or level on your Tundra?
3" BDS leveling kit
Is this all you did? Anything required on the rear or did you just do the front spacers?
