I wrestled with Aden when I was a kid we lived on the same street and he had a mat in his garage so I would go over and wrestle with him and sister pretty much every day don’t let his skill fool you this kid is the hardest worker I’ve ever met in my life when he was 5 years old he would go from a wrestling tournament to a hockey practice back home and practice more wrestling he’s going to be and already is special

nice match...no stall calls. Crazy thing is Aden is not even a state champ. fresman year was cancelled by covid...soph year he was injured (still got 3rd place) Junior year did not make weight. Hopefully he gets it this year as a senior.
He’s not doing highschool wrestling this year I believe
He made weight, but they still didnt let him weigh in 10 minutes before weigh ins closed resulting in him being DQ'ed. He is now suing the CIF for unfair play

Seth looked lackadaisical in execution. Almost as if he didn’t think Valencia would be that technical. Can’t underestimate opponents in combat sports.

I thought I was going to see him get caught in a lace or something. He smoked him. Out wrestled him.
He teched Gross in Freestyle, which is at best a half sport. In folk I bet Gross would tech Valencia.
Unfortunately for Gross, he only competes in freestyle

The ONE wrestler who could give you his leg and make you regret it, 10 out of 10 times, was the Great One, Randy Lewis. Randy could crotch lift you, stuff your shot, throw you, more, and crab ride you and turn you in folk. Dude had every skill in every style. Would have been a champ in Greco as well--you did not want to go upper body with Randy Lewis.
Announcer is so friggin biased! He got real quiet at the end? Yeagh, high school ain't middle school. He's a real wrestler and he won! Totally dominated your boy. So condescending.

Commentator was astounded but he did say the following: "Valencia absolutely shows that he belongs." "He can get in, not score and prevent the counters by Gross." " Wow! This kid is unreal!" "What a performance by Aiden Valencia, but he's not done yet." (1:26 Period 2) "He's building his lead!" "And that will end it! "12 - 2 by Valencia. Wow!" "8-2 Valencia and he's building his lead! 12-2. Two more will end it. And that will end it. 12-2!" Wow! (7:00)

This uploader sucks because they love to give away the match in the title and that was one of the worst calls I've seen in a long time @6m42sec Gross tries to Granby out and gets called on exposure points😆

Kind of embarrassing! Makes it look like Seth needs to be MUCH bigger than his opponents with reach to be successful. Kind of like Connor at those super low weight classes. His technique her was almost nonexistent
Every now and then even a blind hog will find an acorn. I've seen Seth wrestle. This was not one of his better matches.

Tech’ing someone in freestyle is different than tech’ing them in folkstyle. It’s an impressive win but the title is a little misleading.
But he tech’ed him all the same. What do you want the title to say?
@@matjul2008 its not the same, that's my point. Did Aden tech him in folkstyle? No. Which is the style Seth Gross is a champ in. The title isn’t necessarily wrong, it’s just omissive. It could simply say, “High School Wrestler Aden Valencia beats NCAA Champion in freestyle” maybe this is why Flo won’t hire me lol.

@@michaelwalsh8339well it doesn’t. You’d be stupid to think so. If anything it’s putting everyone in college on watch. Anyone can lose, slacking off isn’t going to cut it. So I don’t see how it is “not good for the sport.”
Your comment is embarrassing. You know nothing about the sport and how its evolving and leveling up. Having HS guys beating older guys means the sport is getting stronger and the kids starting earlier. How is that bad for the sport? You clearly never participated at a competitive level in any sport.
Seth should try normal takedown and use the goofy stuff for defense the guys are catching on to his style
