Tsubomi was never someone bad or cruel she was just herself and didn't want to relate now.. it's mob now talking to her as friends who knows in the future? Well the way that Tsubomi was written is beautiful
As far as fictional anime girls go, she was the most realistic
Well, just like with the massive line behind the school, she clearly thinks that everyone is entitled to an answer and in Mob's case specificly she was, rightfully, worried about how he felt if she had not been there.
That's because she knew the tornado was mob. And even if she didn't. she'd know that mob would do something about that tornado in order to have their meeting.
I love the fact that this episode is called "Confession", because season 3 has been nothing but subverting expectations. You would think that the confession would be Mob's love confession to Tsubomi-chan, but instead it ends up being Reigan, who ends up confessing his lies to Mob after all these years. He's let's it all out in the open and the fact that he's finally honest with Mob shock's mob's other half into essentially realizing that it's way of thinking wasn't entirely correct and begins to listen to his other half.
the title isn't mutually exclusive to both those events, multiple confessions can happen. the subversion is thinking that there would only be one.

I love how Dimple survived solely because of Mob wishing for him to return.
We all knew she reject him. But the fact she stayed after all that and still talks to him from time to time means sum
The show shows multiple times that she cares for Mob (not necessarily romantically).
They are both 14. Some people just aren't ready for relationships at that age, even if they like the other person. Especially Tsubomi, since she is moving and trying to apply to a prestigious high school. Having a long distance relationship during all that is very stressful.
We can hope for Mob that they got together, but that isn't the point of the show
Actually I was happy to see she rejected him. They weren't even talk much, I wonder how could this relationship works :p Now we see they calling to themselves and have time to really bond. And even if Tsubomi rejected Mob,she proved so many times she support him and that she's pretty loyal.
I wonder what Mob wanted to achieve being Tsubomi's boyfriend. Was that really for her to be happy or feeling better/being more popular? Maybe he doesn't felt sure and complete and he wanted that perfection to "complete" him as a person. Maybe that's what Tsubomi noticed? But now Mob finally accepted himself and that's the way to built healthy relationship :3

which for mob that was special, since he was suffering from his trauma with his powers, when he hurt ritsu when he blacked out when they were being bullied by teenagers.
i think what mob was looking for is being love for who he is and since tsubomi was the first to accept him
he thought that he need to be with her, like a dream. but as we see what mob needed first is to love himself for who he is. instead of looking for tsubomi to love him.
we see through the season that mob think that tsubomi is this over the top always happy and nice person when in reality tsubomi seems to not like anyone, hell she doesnt even trust her friends.
i like that when mob is in the scene we see through his eyes that tsubomi look like this always happy girl with big shiny eyes but as soon mob is not there we see the real tsubomi.
she doesnt smile at all and always look like she doesnt want to be there.

This was the confession that mattered. Not Mob's towards Tsubomi, but Reigen's towards Mob.
I’m glad that even though she rejected him they still have a relationship with each other. She even said she didn’t yet see him that way. So it went the smart way where they’ll become more familiar and comfortable with one another to be in a serious relationship.
One of the greatest shows ever made.

It was never about Tsubomi. It was about Mob growing as a person. That's why the rejection occurred off-screen and why Tsubomi is so deliberately one-dimensional as a character compared to everyone else
I wouldnt say Tsubomi is deliberately one-dimensional though. The story revolves around Mob and and the people he meet, so of course it's going to focus on how he perceives the people around him, so its kinda unfair to say that it is kind of intentional that she's one-dimensional. Also, there are literally some parts of the anime that shows how people perceive her in contrast as to how Mob thinks of her, doesnt it shows the proof that she isnt just Mob's crush in the story but also her own person too?
Besides, Mob said it himself that they really need to get to know each other more before Mob decides to woo Tsubomi in the future.

Tsubomi, or anyone of the major cast was never 1-dimensional. It has been established by everyone such as Mob, Ritsu, and Dimple that she was a steadfast person. The fact that she waited to properly reject mob shows her character as someone respectable. And there is some truth to "Shigeo's" claim that mob didn't fully "love" her. He's just an 8th grader and for he knows, Tsubomi is his crush. "Shigeo" is the child-like mind Mob has been repressing out of fear to let his power get the better of him and allow his trauma of what happened to Ritsu to happen. Everyone including Suzuki respected how far Mob has repressed his incredible power to the point that he became a "Mob" character in his own show. Mob is already on the right path. He is a good kid. But he took it too far in suppressing his powers. The characters, especially reigen taught him to relearn all this in his journey and eventually let go of his own imposed prison of his child-like self in the story and be able to grow-up properly as his own person neither as mob or shigeo but as Shigeo Kageyama.

I love this scene, because this is the most human we’ve seen mob imo.
Not to say he has had no humanity prior, but in this moment, there’s no relying on powers, no situation predicated on his powers, no emotions in service to his powers.
These tears are 100% Shigeo.

I kinda hate how people in the replies act like Tsubomi is a bad person for rejecting Mob's feelings, as if she doesnt wait for him while Mob his having his own dilemma with Shigeo. She doesnt owe Mob anything, and besides they're closer now that Mob confesses his feelings to her. She might've rejected him, but at least it gave an opportunity for them to communicate at each other again, even though Tsubomi moved away.

Say what you will but DAMN tsubomi is a real one. If i were in her shoes i wouldve been gone after the earthquakes.
I haven’t seen anyone mention this but, remember Tsubomi knows Shigeo has powers. It was confirmed she remembered Mob showing off his powers during their childhood (lifting up a dog tf) and wasn’t at all surprised by him using them to fix a torn paper. And the incident that created ???, or when Mob lost control and hurt Ritsu, thus began repressing his emotions. Given Ritsu’s very young appearance that looks exactly like 2:00, Tsubomi and Mob were probably still friends if not drifting when it happened, so she knew that he underwent a sudden change in his emotional state. So in all likelihood, Tsubomi stayed and waited for Mob despite the tornados and earthquakes because she knew it was Mob approaching.
Their story, that of Mob and Reigan, began with Reigan giving well meaning advise he thought would genuinely help a little kid caught up in his own mind and lost in imagination. And it comes fully circle back around to exactly that same circumstance - Reigan giving a young boy heartfelt words out of concern for the kid’s wellbeing, after both of them have gone through many things, advise which in the end boils down to the same thing he told Mob back before he knew Mob had powers at all - our abilities and flaws don’t make us any more or less human than anyone else.
And rather than simply saying that the choice to be kind is all that’s needed, Reigan embodied a different piece of advice instead - at great physical personal risk to himself he threw himself into Mob’s path because he wanted to help the young boy who has looked up to him all this time.
The secret to charm may be kindness, but the bravery to put your heart out there for the sake of another is the secret to being a good friend.

the point of this show is about changing for the better. even dimple changed and it would not make sense with the message of the show to kill someone that changed for the better.

I love how when shigeo held the hands of himself, it shows us one of many symbol of accepting oneself, and for him to get rejected puts a cake on top, not just for his suffering, but as s man you could only have one victory, and mob here has the victory of accepting himself, not the confession, as he cried we saw a man born from rejection, a true man... And usually that's how most men journey started

yeah. i think she's a real one. she waited to properly reject him in person. i think, Dimple and her are the only true friends of Shigeo until the last moments. because everyone around Mob is lying. Dimple had the guts to tell him his shirt was ugly and Tsubomi had the decency to be honest and respectfully rejected Mob.

Well according to the post manga material it was said Mob has 0 chances with her. So he will probably meet someone else in the future. He is only 14 after all.

Well, our boi Mob has the whole world ahead of him. Though I admit, I am a bit sad we didn't get to see a return of Emi (The girl writing the novel) and Asagiri Minomi (The girl who Mob saved from Mogami). Those two I wanted to see a bit more of a development overall.

Tsubomi is a real one even when there were mf earthquakes and tornados she still waited for him, I don't think she would have for anyone else, but she actually did for mob. Reigen always cared for mob, yes he used him but he even went as far as straight up suicide to go and have mob and talk to him, taking his shoes off in Japan is a sign of suicide and this shows how he would kill himself just to save mob.

I feel like it was more than just mob wishing for dimple to be back(sorry not here for the rejection) remember dimple had god like powers that where from mobs own powers I feel like they are actually linked now like a familiar and it’s Master or summoner the Summon(wish) was link in mobs emotion yes but what is also linked to mobs emotions his psychic powers and since dimple type had that power infused within himself he’s linked to mobs power so the wish(or desire for someone to accept him like dimple or his crush when younger) summoned dimple back from that tree in space keeping him extant(existing since he’s not truly alive)
Fellas, I know it's not the most important thing in this video or the ending in general, but i do think that what Tsubomi said about not seeing Mob that way *yet* was more of a translation thing, since in the spanish sub she says that she has *never* seen him that way. I assumed from this that what she said was more of a saying than anything.

Yeah, that's the only part of the ending i don't like, the whole point of all the mess was accepting his powers and i thought he was going to use them again to help the cat or sometime when the ordinary wasn't enough, but i guess he's back to repressing that part of himself until it explodes again i guess

Why didn’t he accept his powers and use them to save the cat? I love this series and they ended it beautifully. But I wanted to see mob use his powers to show that he finally accepted himself.
Mob didn't accept his powers. Our mob was literally a split personality created due to the accident. What, Mob did was accept the original personality and the emotions which came with him. Remember what makes mobs powers dangerous are his emotions.

The whole point of this show is that psychic powers don't make you special so mob getting rejected made perfect sense. As for the fight with ???
