It was a genius move to bring back this program. It’s just what the members of PR needed, something with some depth and impact points that’s fun to perform. As a phan, I’m falling in love all over again.
it's a great show, and a great choice to bring it back this year. I am, however, hoping that Phantom will, in 2022, do the show they were planning for 2020: Mahler's 5th.
My God....the audience reaction at the 1:13 hit will be stupendous. if they pull this off, they'll get the best reaction since hearing BD in 2nd place in 08.
@@mickeygijzen5847 Oh, no shit! I'm a Blue Devil first and foremost, but if I could be about 40 years younger and march a corps this season, it would be Regiment because of this show.
When I went to the US Naval Academy in 1970, I was invited to join their drum corps. I had never even heard of drum corps before then but fell in love with performing there. The Naval Academy has the nation's oldest, continuously active drum corps and the tradition is strong. We had some DCI performers in the corps but most had never played the bugle before. I played soprano. After many, many shows parades, concerts, and traditional military duties for buglers, I graduated in 1974. Our corps commander marched with the Yankee Rebels and I was hooked on drum corps performances. Since graduating, Phantom has become my favorite corps. Your musicality and showmanship are simply awesome. When I saw the video announcing the new season and the return of Harmonic Journey, I was ecstatic. And this preview confirms the expectations. I hope to catch a show sometime before Indianapolis, but will be pulling for y'all. Give 'em hell, Regiment!
Holy fuck this sounds fantastic. Ferg did so well with the drum book I feel, he didn’t over-do it but he gave some nods to Paul Rennick’s iconic book. Hat is wayyyy off to Phantom on this one. I was iffy when they announced this show and I gotta say, they absolutely knocked this out of the park. SUTA.
They have been in camp in my town and watching them a few times a week, it is amazing how much better they get day after day after day. They are working super hard and that work is starting to really show. I'm sad we only have them for 4 more days, but I can't wait to see them again in Indy.
Few things make me happier than tasty musical arrangements and beautiful poetic expression. Without disappointment, you guys did it again. Harmonic Journey in '21. God bless the Phantom Regiment. We all needed this. Thank you for delivering.
@@jeffgray7922 yup. I'm actually really excited to see the corps' finished products this year since there isn't any competition. Crown's performance was such a refresher, and with no judging, we'll see a lot of stuff like bigger guards, interesting battery sizes, and probably more electronics and such. This year is for the fans and the players more than anything, and I'm stoked.
9:18 is where I lost it. Sounds great for early season! Keep cleaning it up….you guys bring so much emotion to the field! In this era of drum corps…I enjoy the emotional grab from PR! From my introduction to the corps by way of A Defiant Heart to today, I am Phorever a Phan

A lot of ensemble demand in this show. The conductor does an excellent job holding things together. A great music educational experience for the members.
