keep it up shroom, i like using live yabbies for bream especially and often the bigger yabbies get munched by a 40's bream. I caught a 42cm bream on a live yabbie

shroom im not that experienced at fishing but arent yabbies supposed to be freshwater? Good job on those fish!
Pink Nippers aka yabbies (Trypaea) for saltwater. Your correct, in Australia, freshwater yabbies (Cherax destructor) are dark brown and a bit greeny blue. In Australia on sand flats we have an abundant population of another crustacean called the nipper/yabby. They aren't related, are a sandy yellow/white colour with an orangy pink areas on their bodies too. For me i call the saltwater ones nippers and the freshwater ones yabbies so there isn't any confusion. Hope this explains things for you. Cheers, Peter.
Yep I call em nippers but also yabbies is a term that has caught on. It's like the use of the word jewfish instead of mulloway, but I really mean nippers

Ive never used live bait b4. Last week, someone casted a live yakka on his rod, 10mins later he checked the rod, and the head was gone.
I might give it a try, u should too!
I use live yakkas but only when I can get them, I've got plenty of older videos catching on livies!

Hey Shroom what combos do you usually bring when U go night fish as in the KG and size reel
I bring a variety, a couple of 2500s, a 4000, 5000 and 6000 (sometimes 10k). Rods for the light stuff are between 2-4 to 3-5kg and heavy rods I have a 6-12 and somethign similar

Don't hook into the rod eyes. It can cause damage which in turn damages your line.
Yeah I usually hook the legs, and not inserts

Isofishinglifestyle but be careful, I've dropped a rod into water before and almost lost one here too but it's useful if you accept the risks
how do u fish yakkas reliabily without a lure? I have no luck with any lures so wat ur advice (BOBBIN HEAD)
Small pieces or strips on a baitholder hook with a light round ball sinker seems to always do the damage for me! Bobbin head coming soon!

Hey Shroom, I live and fish up on the Mid North Coast of NSW. I love using yabbies/nippers to catch the usual bread and butter species found in our estuaries. Of course, ya never know what you're going to catch but ya can't go wrong with yabbies/nippers mate. I enjoy watching your vids by the way...Keep up the good work.
Nice one Ermerc! I love ussing these nippers, everytime it doesn't work, I remember back to the time I got smoked by a big jewie on a simple nipper dropped below the wharf that ran so hard for 10 seconds I couldnt get the rod out of the holders at all!

Yer shrooms bream like bits of yellowtail. But having said that there isn't much bream won't eat 👍
They can be very picky, the big bream that is but the small ones will hit a lot more variety and (low) quality of baits.
Putting your rods so close to the edge makes ME nervous !
Never had a problem storing herring, frozen or salted and vacuum packed.
Yeah, it is a bit risky and I understand the risks. It's more for making videos than anything else otherwise I'd spread them very far apart. I got one massive hookup in a previous video on a herring but it hasn't done well generally so I'm still trying to get a solid fish on one!

We don't get too many catfish here (I've never caught one) but just hoping for a big hookup one night
Gotta love the yakka, hooked a monster kingfish a couple weeks back on a yakka chunk, had a 4 minute fight with it on ultralight! Keep it up Shroom :D

If you catch legal tailor put a big fillet and cast it without wait with 15lb fluoro carbon and you will get a huge flat head 😉
