I tried all the others-14mm 12 pt-14mm 6 pt-9/16 of each-Used pipe with tape inside etc. Found this video and two minutes later my tire was down-2004 F350-Can't thank you enough!!
If you let the air out of the spare tire you will be able to get to the 'key' and twist it off with channel locks. Then use a 3/8 socket extension to lower the tire.
My spare wasn’t under the truck....so I pulled the plastic tube and pulled the lock chumpy out with a pair of channel locks. I float tested the lock chumpy and used the end of factory rod and it worked great. Fuck yeah.
SOME A**HOLE broke into my truck and STOLE my KEY OUT of the glove compartment along with some other items!!!! JUST UGH!!!! Sorry for yelling and thank you for your vid!
All other videos on this say use a cheap 14mm. Thats quite a diffrence to a 17mm you used. The lock looks totally loose in your 17?? Does it go on tight?
I just got mine off thanks for the info was about to lose it could you imagine being out in the middle of no where you have a good spare and not be able to get it off I would go to Detroit and kick bill ford rite in the nuts

my f250 needed a 17mm
What size for a 2016 f350
If you can look inside and see that it needs a key, try the 19mm socket. If not, it should just be a square drive like a 24 inch extension bar.
But you didn't show how you got the plastic tube off it's not just falling off
You have to pull towards the rear of the vehicle. It comes right off, it's friction fit.
