R Ibrahimov I’m also stuck between the new HP OMEN 15, MacBook Pro 13 and the Lenovo 5. I personally think GTX 1650 TI is better within those three choices and works just fine with everyday work and gaming. For me personally I would love to have a RTX 2060 with an AMD CPU but it’s a bit more expensive than having a GTX 1650 TI
when you say the keyboard is not very accurate. but then you are typing with one finger 😂. maybe if you learn to type with all fingers, then it might feel faster and accurate. anyways the review was great. much appreciated.
This would be the perfect laptop for editing video, mostly because the processor can handle a lot of effects and export really fast, I would say this is the second or third best processor in a notebook to this day, is even faster than the one in the MacBook pro 16, wich is more expensive. Plus the graphics card has a lot of optimization with some video editing software because is Nvidia. Just make sure you get 16gb of ram or better, because editing video consumes lots of it.
This is actually a great laptop for video editing, just make sure you get the one with the brighter and sharper 300 nits 100% sRGB screen for that colour accuracy 👌
If you do cpu based video rendering then go for it ! 4800H is the of the best cpu (second to 4900H obviously, that one is binned chip and is able to run at higher freq/ watts so will perform better at balanced option , but if you set it at performance mode then its almost equal)! Well the gpu is ok for medium settings 60fps gaiming and if you don’t care about super high end graphics then its a must buy! Good thermals, thermally unlocked cpu able to run at 69w max at 90-95c ! Better battery in the non unlocked profile a good 100%sRGB screen !

Point of clarification, you mentioned 10+ hours of video on a single charge, but 5-6 hours of regular use? Usually doesn't video playback result in more battery usage than regular workloads and web browsing? Are you referring to local video playback rather than streaming therefore such a huge difference in battery life and consumption, or is there a difference in how the Ryzen CPU handles video playback opposed to other laptops? It still seems like a rather big jump in runtime. What battery settings was this tested on; just the default settings or did you switch to e.g. better battery/best battery life in the power save settings? Just a few things I'd like to clarify as a friend is in the market for a new laptop before he begins college.
This looks like a very capable laptop, just not for gaming. The graphics card is more than enough to run popular esport titles like League of Legends and Counter Strike, but might come short if you want to run new triple A games at high settings or framerates. Personally I am considering buying it to use for coding, running Docker containers and as a general desktop replacement. Only disadvantage I can think of is the size and weight, but it is significantly cheaper than the Asus Zephyrus G14 and probably runs cooler.
There isn't. This version is the one with the upgraded 80wh battery, so the HDD slot was likely filled in by the extra battery volume. So I bought this model and I could get Ubuntu to work with a recent kernel. I used nomodeset to boot the first time to install the nvidia-driver-440 and kernel 5.7.1 with mainline. The trackpad does not work, but the left and right mouse buttons do. I plan on returning the laptop as the battery life is abysmal. About 2 hours on the silent profile with 100% brightness, which isn't very bright at all. I read somewhere on the internet this model should get around six to eight hours of battery, but you shouldn't believe that. Some other things that weren't perfect are the crooked sticker placement, rattling trackpad and poor screen brightness. I am now considering an HP envy 360 or Lenovo Ideapad.
@@laserlock6491 The 2 hours of battery life are probably because of linux not being well optimized, the battery is 80Wh and the cpu is only 45 Wh. Without nvidia gpu running it would basically be impossible to get less than 2 hours. So it's probably because linux leaves the nvidia gpu on, try something like optimus-manager to disable the nvidia gpu when it's not in use, and install TLP and enable it to get some more optimizations. Also if you want to squeeze some more battery, turn off the keyboard backlight if you are not using it.

I heard that there is a hinge problem .what's ur opinion?
Is it a well built laptop ? Is the lid solid ?
Overall quality of the webcam? Is it good or bad.
How many grams heavier is the 230W supply adapter for the 1660 ti model? I am between the 4800H - 1650 ti and i7 10750H - 1660 ti variants. Also does the intel variant consume much more battery (along with the 1660 ti)? What should I expect for a difference? I will be taking it in a backpack rather often so weight and battery life is very important to me.
Please review Acer NITRO 5 AMD version (4600h)
that's not available over here for now
Thermals and sound emissions are probably the best for 4800h budget segment.
twrkhanasparukh really?
Can you disable the nvidea card for long battery life
80 wh battery? Lucky, in my country it just 60 wh
4800h is a great cpu but I read that it can cause some stutter on games or low 0.1% fps
Where is your team based? I suppose somewhere in Europe, just wondering
in Romania

They heard. I't currently available with a Ryzen 4800H AND a 1660ti for 999 bucks. It has to be the best value laptop today.
Which market? I can only find one with Ryzen 7 4800H but 1650Ti

Warning guys.
The AMD version has a different design than this! And doesn't have a webcam! This one shown is the 5i not the 5p
In what ways is the design different? I think it’s just the hardware that’s different

Should I buy this version or just go to Intel version with i7 and 1660ti 6gb? Thank you
Get one with an amd cpu and same gpu
Blueteam is playing unfair dude ! Its using its influence to give crappy gpu in read laptops so that people would buy their shit instead ! Blue is running at 85watts to counter AMD, thats full desktop level tdp ! Plus battery life aint gr8 !

I saw this laptop in the store! The screen bends when you lift it !!! See in this video the screen line when he raises the screen, at minute 1:54! It is unacceptable!
Thanks for the awesome review
Would it possible for you to check whether the Lenovo Legion 5 is compatible with Kali Linux or Ubuntu
or I can run them in Oracle VM Virtualbox.
I know this is a weird question but trust me my HP probook G3 440 is not compatible with Linux OS .
Furthermore I can't run any Linux distro in Virtualbox.
How much annoying this is!
I think probook disable intel virtualization technology in BIOS. You can try enable it. OR you have enable Hyper-V. Windows seems does not like both Virtualbox and Hyper-V enable/install on OS level.
It might have something to do with lack of nvidia drivers in linux. Try using pop os with the built in nvidia drivers. Works perfect for me.
I would like a comparison of Lenovo 7i because the chassis is aluminum, with the Asus Rog G14 and the new HP OMEN 15 2020 it would be great, but in relation to this Lenovo AMD what do you think about the Asus Rog G14 which would be better
Does this Lenovo Legion 5 supports RAID on 2 same NVME SSD?

Hi guys. Techie newbie here. I am interested in buying this laptop because of the capable processor. That said, is the 1650 graphics card enough for me to run engineering simulations (hecras/ hec hms, etc)? That's the only config available in my country rn. And i need a new machine asap.
I'm not familiar with those apps. Do they use the GPU in any way, or are those CPU only?

I have legion 5 ryzen 7 can i Change the rgb colors?
Does anyone know if it runs Linux out of the box? Maybe Ubuntu or Fedora with a recent kernel?
Window 10 Home out of the box.
Maybe you had the 60watt battery
I think it was indeed the GPU not going to sleep, but I did end up returning it in favour of a model without discrete graphics.
