This is one of the few videos where in the first few seconds I said out loud "OH! I KNOW WHERE THAT IS!". Also some answers for your questions, a jetty is that platform over water, you were standing on it, that "mini penguin" is a magpie, a VERY beautiful bird (and one of the only creatures we locals truely fear, during swooping season), not a question but yes there is construction EVERYWHERE!, yes we can tell if you're not from here but honestly we don't care, Perth is not as quiet as it seems and at the end it seems you made some friends 😂. Hope you're having fun!
Dude that's the job of immigration, same thing happens to us traveling to USA. They need to know you're not here trying to work illegally. Just remember your US Constitution holds no water outside of the USA.
@@Babyfacejase on the TV documentary Australian border force they have actually called up people that travellers have claimed as their boss and quizzed them, they will say "where do you work? whats your bosses name? what is his number? so if i call him now he will verify your statement? if they have any doubt they will deny entry to Australia.
@@Babyfacejase oh you'd be surprised what they can verify. I suggest you watch a few episodes of Australian Border Security. It's usually on ch7 at 5.30 pm weekends or on RUclips. We have the highest wages and benefits in the world triple the USA so believe it or not a lot come here and never leave.
OK PERTH PERSON HERE. What happens is you can be flagged if a few of the following things happen. You are coming in from an Asian country You haven’t booked a return flight You are staying for a super short period of time You are travelling light You have gone to a lot of countries but spent a short amount of time there or go repeatedly You haven’t filled out your visa which they should have reminded you multiple times on the flight there and provided you with the form on the plane You have a unique form of income You are carrying a large amount of physical cash They don’t think you can afford to state here possibly due to your job description on visa form. If you have 2-3 of these then you will get flagged. Australia is probably THE STRICTEST to enter and a lot of drugs come from Asia, so you possibly have met the criteria that a lot of drug dealers/importers usually have, or they think you are here to work if you haven’t booked return flights Don’t take it personally, this is the reason we have the safest country in the world
The kangaroos there are use to people so they are friendly ..now and then in the wild a big sico male kangaroo do attack people. And Kangaroos hate dogs.

Sorry about the airport, they can be a bit extra at times. Lol at the magpie following you. Magpies are really smart, he knew you had food. They are easily tamed and he decided that he likes you. Oh yeah the beak is sharp, try having one of them peak you in the head during nesting season -and you came at the right time for that.
They were probably just checking you were financially able to look after yourself while on holiday here in Australia and won't need to work if you are only on a tourist visa
@@Babyfacejase the reason they ask these Indepth questions is we have people coming into the country with no intent on leaving, those guys will have no income, no cash and very little savings so they ask just to see if there is a potential, if you get a chance watch a couple of episodes of "Australian border force" it will put your experience into perspective,
Theres always construction work in Perth, makes it even harder to get anywhere. The penguin looking things are magpies, some people have befriended them but if its spring i avoid their areas because they can swoop and stalk you which is not fun 😅

Our Maggies are a funny breed. They are really smart and remember faces. Funny story: they love my daughter and me. Never been swooped by a maggie. But they didn't like my daughter's dad - always swooped him. Where she went to school, the park surrounding it was full of maggies. He hated walking through them when he would pick her up from school. If she was cranky with him, she would intentionally walk really, really slowly through the maggies. He'd be getting swooped from all directions. She would be laughing her head off.
@@BabyfacejaseI think they are making sure you’re not a drug mule or something 😂 we have strict guidelines here in Australia can’t bring food, plant or animal products so the form you filled out at customs is that. You won’t believe the stuff people bring in from overseas or try to. We have unique biodiversity so if you introduce a new species of plant or animal it devastates the native population. Watch a few episodes of Australian border control and see how the Asians try to bring in their food that has plant or animal no matter its dried out or not it’s still dangerous and could have potential disease in it and could devastate our wildlife and fauna.

Same weather as Asia.

And mate, lol, no crocs in Perth waterways. 😂 enjoy 😉
The reason the security was checking on you was because they have to ensure people have enough available cash or a decent bank balance for the period of time you are staying. I am surprised he didn't ask if you have paid for your accommodation prior to the visit because that is the biggest expense. They just want to ensure you are not out here looking for work because you would be on the wrong visa for that. I had the same thing happen when I landed in New York in 1988 and all I had on me was travellers cheques. The questions they asked me were not about travellers cheques but cash and I hardly had anything - about $10. They got all in a flap about that. It took them a while before they realised I had enough money in cheques to last the time I was going to be there and I had pre-paid my accommodation prior to landing.

Darling, you need a hat! Always! Enjoy Perth. 🇦🇺
He probably visited when it wasn’t too hot, if it was like 45c then yeah he should’ve worn one
I hope you had a great time mate.❤
Welcome to Perth, my hometown. Rottnest Island has the quokka's. If your here for awhile and have time, check out the South West of W.A. Margaret River & Esperance beaches. Enjoy x
Magpies like all our wildlife are actually incredibly docile if you know how to interact with them, which clearly you do. A great place to go is whiteman park, if you do go there go see the koala's! Hope you're having fun!
That bird is your friend for life if you feed him.
Dude that's the job of immigration, same thing happens to us traveling to USA. They need to know you're not here trying to work illegally. Just remember your US Constitution holds no water outside of the USA.
Fair enough, but he asked me questions that he couldn’t even verify tbh like where I worked, etc. but I feel u
They sometimes telephone employers to see if they are returning to work. It's just like cops seeing if you trip up in your answers. We have the highest wages and benefits in the world triple the USA so believe it or not a lot come here and never leave.
I think i speak for every aussie when i say, i would have given that one magpie following you a little chorizo for being so chill 😂
OK PERTH PERSON HERE.
What happens is you can be flagged if a few of the following things happen.
You are coming in from an Asian country
You haven’t booked a return flight
You are staying for a super short period of time
You are travelling light
You have gone to a lot of countries but spent a short amount of time there or go repeatedly
You haven’t filled out your visa which they should have reminded you multiple times on the flight there and provided you with the form on the plane
You have a unique form of income
You are carrying a large amount of physical cash
They don’t think you can afford to state here possibly due to your job description on visa form.
If you have 2-3 of these then you will get flagged. Australia is probably THE STRICTEST to enter and a lot of drugs come from Asia, so you possibly have met the criteria that a lot of drug dealers/importers usually have, or they think you are here to work if you haven’t booked return flights
Don’t take it personally, this is the reason we have the safest country in the world
The kangaroos there are use to people so they are friendly ..now and then in the wild a big sico male kangaroo do attack people. And Kangaroos hate dogs.
Very very rarely.
@@Dogrockdog there was one attack this week a boy was attacked and needed hospital.
Fun watching you being scared of a roo 😂. Watching from Brisbane, Australia.
😅 it was my first time meeting them
Magpies are the coolest birds!!! The fact it is following you by walking is a good thing! If he was swooping you’d be in trouble😂… these animals will be used to ppl and unfortunately it’s a sign ppl have fed them.. but he is definitely being friendly .. they are so intelligent ❤️
Us Native Australians from Perth (Noongar nation), we call kangaroos "yong - gah"
What do you call, centre link Fremoni? 😁😜
They were probably just checking you were financially able to look after yourself while on holiday here in Australia and won't need to work if you are only on a tourist visa
Yea could’ve been. Its just the first time I’ve ever been asked that many questions out of all the places I’ve visited lol
Roos hang around camping spots and steal your food lol. A woman warned me once, saying watch out, a roo stole my sun dried tomatoes right off my table !
Im a born and bred Perthite.. But now live in Busselton a City 230 kms south of Perth. You need too see Busselton, beautiful place. It has the longest ( Jetty a word new to you) in the southern hemisphere. 1.8kms out to sea
come on man the best thing to do is to go to Rottnest Island and see the cute little Quokka yes they look like mini Kangaroos
Also, welcome to Perth. Construction everywhere, all the damn time lmao.
She would be laughing her head off.
i got questioned about my earnings and had to show my bank statements too. this was in 2016 visiting australia
Yeah definitely caught me off guard lol
I'm Australian and got similar sort of treatment coming back into Australia. We were working in Queensland and flying in and out for work. I got swabbed for explosives everytime I went into the airport. My mate was a smoker and had to go outside to smoke and he got tested every time he came back into the terminal. Definitely wouldn't be personal mate😊
I hope you have a fantastic time while you're here. Enjoy yourself brother.😊 There's heaps to do and see @@Babyfacejase
Try going to Rottnest Island. They have quokkas, which are basically tiny kangaroos. Cute rats maybe. It's a good place for a day trip. Ferry in the morning, ferry back in the afternoon. There is accommodation there as well if you want to stay the night. And I'm watching from Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory. It's way smaller and even more remote than Perth. Same weather as Asia.
Thanks for the tips!
As mentioned, if you could do a daytrip to Rotto, i think youd like it.
1:26 go for a drive on a back road at 5am with your headlights on high beam going 100km/h and you'll see one soon enough.
I live just down the road from this island ... Last time I was there we only saw 1 single kangaroo ... Nice that you saw a bunch of them ... :)
Beginners luck 😅
Welcome to Australia 🇦🇺 go to the blue Mountains, it's beautiful
That Maggie was adorable following you. One chip and you would have had a mate for life.
Gold Coast, Queensland 😁👍🏻🇦🇺
Sorry about the wanker at the airport - yeah we got them as well.
No crocs this far south, mate. 😀 The black and white birds you were talking about, are magpies ("maggies").
I have lived here for 20 years. I have never been to Kangaroo Island 😅 I see Kangaroos at the Pinnaroo Cemetery and Whiteman Park. I live North of the River.
Welcome to Perth I hope you love your stay.
Thank you !!!
The "Dread head Trees"? I'm gonna need you to expand on that.
Welcome to Australia.
That’s obvious
Throw 5$ when start fighing lol
Hope you have some great experiences here.
Perth rules. Welcome ! See if you can make it to Rottnest for the day.
That bird at the start of the video the black and white one near the water is our fearless magpie man and you just missed swooping season were they will try kill you and thats not even a joke 😂😂
A human dear 😂😂😂 hope you enjoyed your stay mate
Go to the Caversham wild life park & Whiteman park, it's beautiful
Thanks for the recommendations!
U could walk up to a roo and pat all depends on roos demeanour.! 5 metre is best and dont make to much noise
"What kind of bird is that though?" ..... bro you just crossed paths with evil 😅.
Fkn magpies
Maybe i should go find a smaller one lol
Omg the magpie is soo adorable
Enjoyed your video, but Aussies don’t say “throw a shrimp on the barbie” we say “ throw a prawn on the barbie! Greetings from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
😂, that was so cute, glad the magpie didn’t swoop you, they have a tendency to do that this time of year. I’m north of Perth about 400 kms, the kangaroos up this way are giants, hope you enjoy your visit. Try to get to Rotto and have a selfie with one of our smiley quokkas, I think you would enjoy it. And mate, lol, no crocs in Perth waterways. 😂 enjoy 😉
😂😂 thanks for the tips !
I am in Corowa NSW. But I was just going to say, the magpie, that bird, was just being friendly. He might eat your chips, but he wouldn't hurt you. 😊
Great content. 3000 degrees no Andre. LOL
I think they are asking because people come to Australia and don’t want to leave etc. it’s just immigration policy and normal questions.
