How To Steam Remote Play Together Tutorial (2022)

- In this tutorial, I show how to setup steam remote play together as well as go through some of the settings, possible problems and fixes. Steam remote play together is a feature that enables you to play some of your games (such as It Takes Two and A Way Out) with your friends by streaming them to their computer. Only one person needs to own the game in order to make this work!

hey, do you know what to do when remote play just screen shares and shows input is temp disabled, host is busy. i have tried using a controller and the other person their keyboard, but it still just shows that. any fixes?
Ok so I took this tutorial everything was working but when you are the host how can you enable the input so the person who's seeing screen can see bc that's the issue I have with

Hey so when I invite my friend that window where I can invite them or change the quality stays open for them and they can’t access the game or click let’s go. After it shows up for them is there another step they need to click

it wont let me click my friends menu in the overlay ill click it and nothing happens
@@awsomerykster1097 That happened to me as well, but bringing up the Friends tab by clicking Friends at the top of the screen, then clicking "View Friends List" brought up a menu that I could interact with.

So im trying to do remote play with the new lego star wars to play with my gf. We got to the point where we can play together on my screen but i want it to display on her monitor but it doesn't. all she sees is a blank screen with a little satellite icon in the bottom right corner. plz help
does this mean you have to play "split screen" ? or do you both get your own screen just like if you did multiplayer invite - asking for games like outward.
Split screen, you’re streaming your screen and it’s almost as if they are sitting next to you and playing but instead they are playing from home. “Couch Co-Op” is the term.

it should work alright without disabling keyboard. I think you should be able to enable controller and disable keyboard for the game via steam overlay.

@@mont9150 That's not the issue. The keyboard gets assigned as one player, which means that you need another one. Could be another keyboard as well. It's like playing split screen locally, you wouldn't both be able to use the same controller.

whenever i try and invite somone at 2:08 the second screen never pops up :(
when i click "create invite" this menu doesnt pop up, and when i invite them thru friend list they cant press anything, remote play together worked for me last time and this menu has poped up before
I believe everyone is having this issue so it’s a problem with steam that will probably be fixed soon

My friend hosts a game so we can play splitscreen he uses keyboard and i use controller.
The problem i can controll both players he can only control his thats pretty weird.
Depending on the game you both are playing, make your friend go into the control settings within the game and hopefully it's just 1 thing that has to be turned on or off. I played some lego games with a friend for example and I had to enable controller for player 2 because if not they couldn't control the other character. Hope it helps 👐

I'm no programmer but sounds easy enough to have someone 'remote' control a virtual controller or something over the internet. Kinda like remote desktop but they can only controll a player 2 input while they watch me stream w.e we are playing

Thanks for this information. I am having some trouble here. I wanted to play Lego Marvel Avengers. When I invite through the link .. second player does not work. It is just screen sharing .. not able to play.
Following things I have tried
- Settings
- F2 second player .. from both main system and remote system .. in both cases it splits the screen but does not work

Does the second player have controller? Or do you have controller? Also did you try to enable their controller/keyboard on steam overlay?

You have to connect it to the other device and unpair it to the main device, or vice versa. It cant be connected on both or it becomes like 1 screen displaying same thing

1:55 PAUSE, see in this screen their friends are blurred, but if you invite a friend -- assuming you know how to -- youll see once they joined under their name is: a mouse, keyboard (and sometimes a controller if its connected) icon. click to disable/enable.

@@podshort4748 u can play remote with 2 keyboards by using different keys for example the player 1 has to play WASD and the 2nd player has to play arrow keys
U can also use 2 different keyboards and set them to different value keys so both players can use WASD, I've tried it on brawlhalla back then

You dont need a controller if you use a virtual controller.
