The problem with most F1 journalists is that they write nice. Talk nice, might have driven the odd lap, but the best people to provide insight are the people that have a unique perspective to ask different questions from. You see it that ever since they added the strategy lady to the sky team we get a completely different view on strategy way more in depth on strategy choices. The same is with Peter Windsor or scarbs… they create content leveraging actual experience it’s amazing.
6:36 leclerc does absolutely not fit in this list. It's actually sainz who has shown way more tactical thinking in races than his teammate
I agree, charles is up there driving wise but he isnt the brainspace guy... I wouldn't count Hamilton there either (listened too much team radio of that guy)_... then again as a max fan, max hasnt been the brainspace guy either recently. I mean, in Hungary he filled that extra brain capacity, with despair and with frustrations about the car, annoyance about the team and gp... and he locked up (that might be normal driving for other desperate drivers but max normally doesn't lock up like that, he will place the car aggressively and might drive dirty but he wont lock up.. So he definitely exceeded his brainspace there...

Of course Andrea Kimi Antonelli is not at his peak yet and yet I see moments of brilliant race control in F2 and also see what Mercedes sees in him. The education to become an F1 driver takes place in F1 and is more than just racing, it is about potential.
Many a driver have failed when they changed teams. Alonso, Schumacher, Seb Vet, Kimi and etc
Max is not guaranteed to go any faster at Mercedes.
on all accounts the Ford and Redbull power trains project is progressing far better than expected. Fords Cosworth team are some of best industry and ford has strong electric engine capabilities which will shock a number of people.
This is why GM is so desperate to get into f1 to show their capabilities.

You say why don’t they put kimi in a Williams but Williams did something that they lost doing along the way. They picked Carlos and I truly think Williams making that kind of move and putting Carlos alongside Alex with James, I think they are going to be able to develop a car with two really good drivers and we will finally be able to see how Alex matches up to Carlos, which is also amazing. I am a max fan, but I have been since he entered the sport. I like his aggressive driving and his way of fighting other drivers. It at least makes it more exciting to watch.
But Mercedes is in a situation where they can’t copy what Redbull does because they don’t own a sister team like RB they just have good relations with Williams. But now that they are building what I think is an amazing foundation, I personally think 2026 we will see Williams moving up the grid.
I don't know mate this Kimi kid acts as if he won already while not even driving one F1 race ..... This can go both ways, I been watching F1 since 1983 and 99% of the time rookies struggle and not many can handle it. Kimi hasn't proved anything for me to warrant him the Next Max.

Alesi wasn't that good, 12 years in F1, also at Ferrari, and just one win.. So Charles has already massively outperformed Alesi with 600% more wins
