Former UFC Champion turned WWE superstar Ronda Rousey talked to Ellen about her new venture in the ring, and how to "mean mug" while intimidating opponents.
Ellen is a really intuitive host. You could tell Rhonda was uncomfortable with the question about returning to UFC, and staying composed but clearly still mourning the abrupt end to that chapter in her life. Ellen did amazingly to immediately and gently transition to a more light hearted topic like her last appearance on the show. Rhonda's wide smile and happy reaction was so great to see. Even as a fighter on the big stage, people are people at the end of the day and we only get to see one small part of who they are usually.

This is the best hype anyone has ever done for a WWE show. I've seen John Cena, The Rock, etc. appear on talk shows and they always go into this cheap, stupid sell mode where they talk about the fight as if it was real, and talk a bit closer to the OTT pro-wrestling promo talk. It always comes off so ancient and cheap, like a car salesman trying way too hard to sell you some piece of crap. Ronda just appeared, discussed what is going on, they showed a little clip and then teased Wrestlemania 34 as if it was just normal piece of business. This is how it's supposed to be done, this can actually get WWE some extra viewers for the show.
Let this sink in... World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT. Kayfabe's been dead probably before you were born. Pro wrestling being real was never the point of the SHOW.
I am so hyped about Ronda finally be in WWE, 3 years...3 years waiting and praying that she would be here and now she is. I was at the Royal Rumble if you weren't there you can't possibly understand the lighting bolt of elecricity that went trough the all stadium when her music hit and she came out we went nuts people xD And she since entertained me, ofc she needs to improve on mic skills and this kind of things but nonethenless she is entertaining to me even now. Ronda is an amazing athlete who has consistently broken ground. I haven't watched WWE since adolescence but I'm rooting for her all the same. I hope she has a solid arc and no career ending injuries.

I'm hoping this proves to be as groundbreaking as her previous efforts.

She ran from 145lbs in strikeforce to 135lbs in UFC who literally handed her a belt and a very weak weight division. 145lbs is the most common weight class in women's MMA. now why did she do this, one word, Cyborg. She and her trainers knew she was no match for her and so did Dana, and that cyborg could not follow her to 135lbs because the cut was too much. Why do you think as soon as Ronda quit they made a 145lb division? I was simply stating there's alot about women's MMA you don't know, and it was around a long time before Ronda on a very high level.
