Joe talbot showed up at a gig I was at in Bristol once. He came in after the bands finished and tried to claim attendance to their faces. He bragged to the barmaid about how he was in a well known punk band, he tried buttering up one of the bands and got ignored, he stood outside desperately trying to be noticed but no one cared apart from the local support band who were treating him like travelling royalty. He was clearly coked up looking for his fix of adoration, it was proper embarrassing. I was cringing for the guy. I heard him saying 'those three bands were a perfect bill' to one of the members, like I said he wasn't even there. Guys unbelievably insecure clearly.
Joe has already clarified in interviews he fell of the wagon a few years ago, during touring. I imagine the guilt of relapse is enough, dont be a prick.
Funny enough Adam Devonshire apparently came to see my band a couple of weeks ago , I had no idea he was there but the techs said have you heard of idles ? I said yeah love them great band. And he said the bass player was here watching you like a hawk haha . I’ve never met him but know a few folks how have and he’s a great guy ! Seen them play once and they blew the roof off ! Great band
