What an absolutely gorgeous boat! Too bad I'm 81 years old. Last built in 1985 and do I ever love this double ended, full keeled boat what a tank! Price of this though WILL BE through the roof due to what appears to be excellent condition. It even looks like it has a water maker. Nope they don't make double-ended, full keels anymore what a BEAST! I'm guessing at least $75k. At least. However if you ain't a true sailer this is not gonna appeal to you at any price simply because this is NOT a fast boat by any means (AND you better know what you're doing).
We have an Ingrid 38 and yes - it is a tank with all the advantages: overbuild, simple systems. easy to sail…and a little but intimidating! Feels like a real ship and is actually faster in light winds than you would expect! Way different from modern “floating apartments” but it is definitely confidence building. You can really sail these anywhere…
Nice boat for someone who likes being alone and want's to do some real sailing or a mad in love couple about 16/18 years old , pretty sure that 38 foot claim includes the bowsprit and self steering off the back , it is painfully small inside , the galley looks ok , wondering about that square patch under the thru hull on the port side , I would pull that motor , plug the thru hulls , hang a 15 horse on a bracket off the side and use that space for storage if your planning on going somewhere and then be easy to use the same motor for the dingy , face it that motor trans an shaft probably weigh close to 600 pounds , that's a lot of canned goods an stuff for a long sail , a 15 horse would push it just fine to get out of a harbour and if it blows up dump it over the side buy another , can get one pretty much anywhere in the world , and saves you from worry that's a good thing , a new 14 horse yanmar will set you back ten thousand or so and will last around 5000 hours so costs 2 bucks an hour to run not including diesel , an old outboard costs fixing somebody's stuffing box or diving an cleaning a hull stuff like that , that boat will carry enough sail even in light air to get away from land on a ebb tide , then comes the thoughts do i really like being alone or was all that talk to impress someone into thinking i'm manly or some other crap
I can answer that for you: our Ingrid 38 is about 49ft overall and the hull is 38. Inside it is small by modern standards but comes with a “solid” feeling you can not get from standard boats these days anymore. The cabin has great headroom for tall people (I am 6 5ft and it is comfortable for me). So yes - if you want some apartment on the water get a catamaran…if you want to sail anywhere - get one of these!
She has two 200w rigid glass solar panels mounted on Bimini and a Silent Wind 400W Mizzen Mounted wind Generator. Also has a Victron Energy MPPT 100/30 Solar Controller, Victron Energy 12/1200 Inverter and Six Firefly Oasis Group 31 batteries and a Victron Energy Skylla-IP 44 Battery Charger. Beautiful boat. It's a gaffcutter28 foot 6.5ton the work is more as the modern rigg but I llllove it.
Looked it up your $75K would be a good ballpark offer, seems to be in New Jersey. I went surfing with my dad when he was your age.

What is the boat beside you...blue hull red bottom, triple spreader....tks
It's $90,000 for those who are curious. Not sure why the poster is so coy about it.
What is up with the stove? How is it suppose to gimbal while sailing?
have heard say these Ingrid hulls are very tender!!
God but is she a beauty... I hope the next owner takes her across the world!!!
Probably a Veteran Marines boat. Looks strait and stowed.

I heard that the owner died on the boat. It still stinks apparently. True? Otherwise good boat.
